Up and coming Acoustic Folk Pop artist Wesley West has recently made his debut with the indulgently uplifting single “Little Did He Know”. To create such a resonantly powerful track is one thing, but for the South African artist to do it so fresh from inception is quite another.
The single throws in Jazz style improvisations to prevent you from listening to the same predictable four bar chords. Instead, you get to ingest a complexly immersive vibrant sticky-sweet melody which has every potential to become your next perennial earworm.
There’s a palpable amount of purity in the soundscape in the sense that the singer-songwriter has perceptibly been driven by the compulsion to create a veracious yet euphorically pleasing single. Even with the electronic effects, the single carries the same accessible allure of Psych Pop bands of the 60s, yet, there’s no denying that Little Did He Know belongs on the airwaves in 2019.
