As an overly enthused fan of 80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster, hearing the debut single “Rotten Fruit” from up and coming Garage Punk artist Summer of Blood was an incredibly welcome defiling of my eardrums.
With the running rhythms and the caustic amount of energy poured into Rotten Fruit, Summer of Blood have definitely got our attention. Punk isn’t dead, but it’s on its last legs, and it was about time a new band emerged with the vivacity to make us fall in love with relatable aural angst once more. Rotten Fruit contains a fair amount of snarling noise, yet even when the momentum of the track peaks, you’re never left with discord. There’s plenty of abrasive fuzz, yet you’ll be able to appreciate each of the instrumentals coming together and bleeding blistering rhythm.
You can check out Summer of Blood’s raucously mesmeric feat of Alt-Rock for yourselves by heading over to Spotify.
