I refuse to spout the old cliché of comparing every psychedelia band that hails from Liverpool to The Beatles. Not only because in my humble opinion revival music happens to sound even sweeter than the original music, but because bands such as the 3-piece collective TV ME drop mind blowing EP’s that contain the perfect synergy of Experimental Psychedelia, Art Pop & Dream Pop.
The ethereally palpable melodies that jangle away through TV ME’s single off their latest EP ‘A Broadcast from TV ME’ can only be described as pure aural alchemy. As your mind tries to untangle the textures and layers of the sound you get dragged down further into the swirling hypnotism of track. The band formed in early 2017, it didn’t take them long to sign with Deltasonic Records & get much deserved instant airplay from the BBC.
The band’s debut track Stitches has been 15 years in the making, which seems like a staggering statement, but once you start to appreciate the roots against the contemporary influences, it’s not too hard to believe. TV ME will be following up on their EP release with plans to release their debut album later in 2018. So, if you’re a fan of Super Furry Animals, El Goodo & The Coral I wouldn’t give this track a miss!
