“Your Brain Might Fall Out” is the inventively titled latest single from Threds AKA Ben McCurdy; a Brighton-based producer who likes to ensure that his soundscapes are just as endearing as the titles of his tracks.
With influences such as David Bowie and John Grant, it is safe to say that there’s an incredibly psychedelic, sonic, sonorous texture to the artist’s latest aural offering which goes far beyond assimilating former sounds to create waves of arrestive experimental hits.
Expect striking synth lines up against funk-heavy basslines and plenty of effect in between to ensure that the rhythm really hits as the track progresses. There’s a perfect synergy between the sticky-sweet vocal harmonics and the honeyed layers from the instrumentals which all comes together in a perfect cocktail of vibrant euphoria with the perfect hint of existentialism – that may be the John Grant influence!
