The powerhouse trio of musicians The Lazy Universe have recently released their latest single The New Clan for your aural pleasure, and what a treat they have in store for fans of Alt Rock.
The New Clan was written by vocalist and guitarist Stacey Tolle, which ultimately proved she’s the triple threat when it comes to creating a progressive masterpiece of bluesy yet cataclysmically-heavy melodies. What amazed me most about the Lazy Universe was their ability to construct a new sound out of a genre that many people believe that has been done to death. But, I can’t say I’ve ever stumbled across a track inspired about men not cleaning their facial hair off the bathroom sink, naturally listen to the narrative of angst unfold was an absolute delight. We can all resonate with the emotion which Stacey poured into the track. Any fans of Sleater Kinney and Courtney Barnett shouldn’t hesitate before hitting play on the single. No review of the New Clan would be complete without mentioning the tight synergy from the drums and the bass, the instrumental components are barely separable from one another.
