If you like your Alt Rock heavy and with a slick sultry edge, then it’s my absolute pleasure to introduce the Cause & the Cure. The powerhouse of musicians came together in 2014 to delight audiophiles across the globe with their infinitely raucous soundscapes. Their latest single Leave the Lights On was a punchy, infectiously anthemic which hit you with high-octane instrumentals. Yet regardless of the reverberant amplified bliss that came curtesy of the instrumentals Maleyna Marks’ voice still sat poignantly above the angular guitar riffs. Each line of the chorus was delivered with an antagonistic bite which would leave most vocalists in painful envy. Whilst comparisons could be drawn between her vocals and Paramore’s Hayley Williams – Maleyna’s have very little restraint which makes her vocal offering unadulterated and delectably resonant.
You can check out the Cause & the Cure’s latest single which dropped in May 2018 on SoundCloud now.
Connect with the band on Facebook and stay up to date with their latest releases. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from the New Jersey based collective in the future.
