With absolutely no intro, the 4th World’s latest single kicks into start and hits you like an absolute tonne of bricks. The effectiveness of the viscerally uncensored lyrics contained within their latest single “The System of Insanity Enslaving the World and Humanity” pack in even more dread, uncertainty and rage than Childish Gambino’s “This is America”
By the time the first verse to the melodically fluid Hip Hop track had ran through, I’d already reached an existential state. Along with the lyric’s poignancy, the command of meter and rhyme in the bars was absolutely on point, proving that the 4th World isn’t only an artist with the ability to urge the listener to wake up the world, he also has the ability to make his words flow like spoken word poetry.
I’ve often sat in despair of the fact that our world is falling apart at the seams and Hip Hop artists are still versing about the same old self-aggrandized issues. So, to hear The 4th World’s approach to his sound is understandably refreshing. Whilst you wouldn’t want to add the cinematic haunting track to a vibe-out playlist, it’s more than worth listening to and helping The 4th World spread his message.
