The underdog that wants it bad: Nigerian born UK emcee Mukhy makes a huge statement on ‘SWERVE!’(ft DxBoY)

Sometimes you get that special feeling when you turn on a new song. Mukhy takes a blowtorch to all obstacles in his way on his new track ‘SWERVE!’ (ft DxBoY). The mysteriously intense tiptoe shaker beat blusters in with a blazing entry that busts through the creaking door. This is the way to make an memorable entrance.

With the self-confidence of a man that knows what he wants plus a ravaging lyrical delivery that eats away at those corny rappers that get too much love, he’s already half way there to getting where he wants to go.

He swerves out of the way from sewage-type bad vibes that stinks out the joint. He has an ominous rap style that is so refreshing in a world full of short-term mumble pop-tarts that have no place on the mic.

The beat couldn’t have been made any better for the vision of the track and this song is like a powerful jack-hammer against the wall of cheesy music that is soft and breaks easily. This is a man who is fired up, knows who his real friends are, and is only concerned with respect from the true music fans and long-lasting success.

If you want it, you gotta go and get it. Mukhy seems to want success more than most and proves this on ‘SWERVE!’ (ft DxBoY). With a vicious lyrical flow, he sweeps all others under the mat to gather dust. Time will tell if he has the self-motivation to carry on when the chips are down but the odds are on him winning. When you quit your dull job to get back into music, losing is not an option.

Ben Kidson flows in with his soulful music on ‘Mind Made Up’

Ben Kidson is a producer, creative and blessed singer-songwriter who has just dropped his new single called ‘Mind Made Up‘.

This has cats, fires and lost love. A song all about breaking up due to personal differences can be very tough and this is an indie story that delves deep into the heart. You can’t do everything so there needs to be two people on the same mindset otherwise it just won’t work unfortunately.

With a pop-filled grungy guitars with ravishing RnB sexy synths to sprinkle a sonic platter of a full meal of music. The self-described “punk-pop and everything pink” style is foremost in the mind. The sparkle is bright here and you sit while thinking of past relationships here. Your mind races and you think of how to be a better person next time.

Ben Kidson sings with such passion on Mind Made Up and this is a song to put on full volume on your lonely speakers. With a top team of cinematographer Miguel Carmenes and direct by indie filmmaker Oh Neve on the video, this makes everything right again. A top song and an excellent video to match.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMvSHNsBiqs

Hank Quillen is an actor, singer-songwriter-producer who writes and records his own songs and has appeared in hit TV Shows and feature films. He is back on the music side this time with the groovy 70’s inspired jam called ‘Still Love You‘.

His latest release contains a lot of songs and this is due to lock down. Suddenly time was there to make all those songs he really wanted. Extra time was taken here to make this right and the class is so clear to see from this multi-talented performer.

This has that old school feel to it. It is 3am in the morning and you can just think of her. She consumes your mind even though she treated you so badly. You just tried to be there but it wasn’t enough, Your love is so strong still however and you can’t get her out of your mind.

Still Love You‘ from Hank Quillen is an honest song about love. You feel the passion here from the well-traveled singer and actor. This is a fine effort and the indie-folk honest drop-lings, are exactly what we need in 2020.

Perth’s Efa dances into our heart with lovely jazz-pop as she sings about heartbreak on ‘So Smooth‘.

This song is all about a cliché high school romance that is based on true events. The song is inspired by old-time-style jazz music mixed with the new-aged dance pop. Sick, Tired & Done from Jazzmensoul is the story of suffering and the time is now for change

Sick, Tired & Done‘ from Jazzmensoul is the story of suffering and the time is now for change in the USA with all the terrific losses of life due to the police. This is a message that hits home.

The message here is: ”This song is born out of a consistency of brutal contempt for the lives of people of color by a nation that we have built and fought in numerous wars for, while under duress”.

Jazzmensoul and his team have sent through a deep song here that is so well-needed in this shocking time. Too many people of color have lots their lives and the lies have finally caught up to the small-minded authorities out there. Of course there are police that do a great job but for too long, deaths have occurred due to lack of care. Going overboard with petty arrests and hurting people that causes death, must end.

Sick, Tired & Done‘ from Jazzmensoul, PahPah Mike, Christopher Lowry, Gene Torres, Camille Gainer Jones, Gordon Jones and Kevin Blackler is such a vital song to spread this vital message. People are sick and tired and hopefully this cause is successful. The sooner the better.

Гибкий Чаплинъ returns with fascinating cartoon video for ‘Hostess’

Гибкий Чаплинъ returns with the fascinating and brilliantly-made cartoon video for ‘Hostess‘.

An intriguing video to match this wandering Jazz-Indie Rock single. This song was originally released in 2019 and the song has been brought to life with the unique animation from cartoonist Alexander Bubnov. Telling the story of a man who gets blown into a strange cafe by a cruel Autumnal wind, he is drawn into the strange world of the other diners as he waits for his meal of ‘Summer Full‘. Drawing from the artistic styles of Picasso, the video perfectly pairs the art with the jazz. I love how this video is made and it is such a fun watch. The detail is fantastic and this is something I have never seen before. It captures life perfectly and about how alcohol can get a bit much.

An independent band from Ukraine, Гибкий Чаплинъ (also known as Gibkiy Chaplin) was formed in 2015. Over the past five years they have released five studio albums including one on vinyl and have amassed an impressive following over social media. Creators of eclectic musical styles, their sound ranges from alternative, art-rock, jazz-rock, and rock, to poetry, neoclassical music, indie, experimental, and instrumental compositions. A defining characteristic of the group is that their art is inspired by the spirit of the special places they visit and in which they create and record their music – Kyiv, London, Paris, Venice, and Prague.

Гибкий Чаплинъ raises the standard of videos on ‘Hostess‘. This is a pre-covid look into what happens at night and how money, women and drink can create quite a intoxicating mood that can go either way. This is a terrific video that will inspire others to make different videos like this and not do the normal.

The XO sings with cold regret about his ex on ‘November’

The XO return with a reflective tale on how love can be cold sometimes. ‘November‘ is the name of the song and this is one of the years best.

The XO are a Dark Pop Rock band from Dallas, Texas. They are on top form here with this gripping story about cold love and how it freezes your heart with ice everywhere in your soul.

With a peaceful piano beat to get us going, the song soon turns dark and reflective. This is about being with someone that you loved but they let you down so badly. In a cold month, the person you were with made you even colder with their attitude and ungratefulness. Soon, things got too much and you felt like you were drowning and not being helped by your special love that ended. This will be painful but you know that it is all over. It’s time to warm up again.

This is a terrific song with meaning and The XO put their name on the map with ‘November‘.
