More Than We Need: London’s Burlington hopes we can still climb those mountains on ‘Mind for Mind’

With a comforting resonance that has you feeling so succumbed in his calming vocal capabilities, Burlington compels us to endeavour for more so that humanity may be stronger and not more lethargic with ‘Mind for Mind‘.

Burlington aka Matt Burlington is a London, UK-based indie vocal house solo artist, nature explorer, music video editor, and keen swimmer who is always naturally developing.

Burlington, this being his second musical presence, decided to shift over into indie-pop when he realized that he did not have to be attached to one single sound. This genre allows him to explore his more acoustic and alternative sound whilst his alter ego “Matto” allows him the freedom to create that ever loved house music.” ~ Burlington

Burlington is an artist that sings with such an amiable tone, that you just want to listen to him all day. There is something rather unprecedented about this promising musician, who seems to effortlessly project what many are imagining through his wise words and transfixing behaviour.

Mind for Mind‘ from the London-based indie vocal house and former indie-pop artist Burlington, is a charming single from a fast-rising artist who is always looking to improve and challenge himself. It’s this inspiring mindset that makes him one of the most compelling underground acts in the UK today – as he takes us on a peacefully reflective journey – into being in the moment and nothing less. Life is all about exploring after all.

Jack Douval – Young At Heart: Nostalgic Classical Vocal Jazz

https://youtu.be/TXAC5Cpdt6g

Here is something you don’t have the chance to listen to every day.

Jack Douval has decided to take a route that not many people decide to take; with his new song called “Young At Heart” he is bringing back the familiar warmth and nostalgia of classical singing. Following the footsteps of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Nat King Cole, Jack Douval is making music you won’t ever hear on the radio. On the other hand, you will gladly listen to songs like this when you’re putting up your Christmas decorations. There are certain images that the mind of the average listener would trace back to when this type of music enters the ear: Wood slowly turning into coal in the fireplace or black and white films from the 50s. This feeling although touching and pleasing, it has one more prominent characteristic: It certainly is from another time.

Jack Douval is making music in a rather leftfield way. The musical fur that he has decided to cover his exquisite voice with, is one that we can’t say there’s a smacking demand for. If anything this is a bold singer, doing things his way.

George Beck – 90s/High: Nostalgic 90s Vocal Techno/House

George Beck dropped a music video for his song “90s/High” earlier this year. The title track couldn’t have been more self-explanatory: The nostalgia for the 90s rave dance scene kicks in vividly.

And the dance scene isn’t the only item that George Beck sings about in this old-school acid house/techno anthem. He is reciting his lyrics in an Underworld-style delivery, recollecting all the good stuff from the nineties, the clubbing and this song maker’s carefree youth and dominance of free will – representing a whole generation of people for that matter. Realizing that this is a contemporary recording is quite odd; the same goes for the VHS-imagery music video.

Naturally, this is a creation which shall generously give joy to people that dearly treasure these images, this mood, this lifestyle, even though this spiritual wealth might have been transformed to nothing more than a block of memories. Kudos to George Beck for blessing us with some precious name-dropping; everyone who was there/familiar with it all, will acknowledge and instinctively smile, for the rest there’s Wikipedia.

Thank you George Beck. This is “90s/High”, get nostalgic here

Henry Cron – The Girl In My Algebra II.: Lo-Fi Vocal Vaperwave

Prom: An Electronic Romance by Henry Cron

This song will give your brain the same feeling it gives you when you are inserting candy in your mouth. The sweetness is real!

Henry Cron is an electronic music producer of a wide spectrum. And the fact he comes from Daytona, FL one can say is obvious on his music. “The Girl In My Algebra II.” apart from having a gorgeous title for itself, is a melancholic track that is delivered in the most cheerful way. Henry’s vocals do remind the vocals of EDEN’s (perhaps an influence of his?) that are floating on top of this vaporwave-ish loop. His slow and low note singing is gently splashing some colors on the minimalistic canvas of his music. In regards to the song’s music structure, there’s a steady repetition, with almost no changes – or at least I didn’t manage to catch any. Consequently, the main instrument, the one responsible for changing the entire pace, is his voice. And it is ear-candy.

Emily Graye Stands Out From The Pack With ‘The Art Of Lying’

Emily Graye works at a wonderful collision point where the alternative meets the mainstream, were the popular meets the underground, where the infectious meets the more considered. Musically she blends electro-pop rigidity with classical-synth washes and a vocal delivery that is both ethereal and direct.

It is these contradictions which make her stand out from the pack, she has an accessibility not normally associated with artists working in similar leftfield realms but also an integrity unusual in pop circles. Lyrically she wanders between the thoughtful and the confrontational, the profound and the profane and it is the swirling juxtaposition of musical worlds, this scattergun blast of ideas and this seamless blend of sonic exclusives that definitely make her one to watch.
