The Schoolboys have released their very 2022 new-wave-meets-proto-punk love song, Think About It

So many of the greatest songs have been written on hard and fast infatuation. The Schoolboys evaded all the usual tropes that have long since been outdated in their latest new-wave-meets-proto-punk single, Think About It.

If I told you the track itself was as sweet as the lyrics, “Isn’t this just what you asked for? I see you give up too fast, you should never walk away when there’s still something you want” would you even believe me?

The Schoolboys originally formed in 2021 as an alt-rock band in Reading, England, under the influence of the Strokes and the Smiths. Based on Think About It, the nostalgically-minded outfit had no trouble finding their own warmly overdriven sonic signature. Any fans of the Violent Femmes, Joy Division and Modest Mouse will undoubtedly want to pay attention.

Think About It is now available to stream on YouTube.

Apres Pompeii has released his poetic folk-rock single, Clay.

‘Clay’ is the latest poetic folk-rock single released by singer-songwriter Apres Pompeii. What starts as a conceptually intimate and bleary soundscape seamlessly builds into a sonically choral indie hit with sweet psychedelic kicks in the percussion and plenty of colour in the artfully crafted melodies.

After a sonic crescendo of angular indie guitars, the Pittsburgh-based artist brings the tempo back down to conclude the single on a note that will enamour any fan of Violet Femmes, Frightened Rabbit or Manchester Orchestra. If you are always on the lookout for the Elliott Smith of our generation, hit play.

Raw & rugged: ‘Pigeon’s Pocket’ fly their way into the punk game with new single

‘Pigeon’s Pocket’ consists of band members from all over Europe. Coming from England, Ireland, the Netherlands and Poland, they made it their mission to prove that, much like punk, Riot GRRRL’s not dead.

The self titled single-‘’Pigeon’s Pocket’’- is a reminder that punk is definitely not dead and doing quite nicely actually. Influenced by Lunachicks, the Distillers, L7, Violet Femmes just to name a few, you can hear the passion in lead singer Marjory’s voice. She is fantastic on this song, has a strong voice and with the awesome sound complimenting her, this is an impressive single.

With pigeon sounds illuminating from the start and then back at the end, ’Pigeon’s Pocket’’ is a rocking single that helps this new band break through. They like being the rats of the sky, dropping down on everyone and playing their music really loud. Currently based in Leeds, this is a band that is bound to be on many awesome lineups in 2021.
