Trap artist JOON has just dropped their 5th Trap Pop Earworm with “Ink Dries”

https://open.spotify.com/track/0JVUw2vkCNyKVERHsqUGHO

After up and coming Hip Hop artist JOON’s latest drop “Ink Dries” featuring Aadie Rip, we’re even more excited about the artist’s potential. By infusing subtle charismatic Pop elements into Ink Dries, it became an accessible immersive track right from the first hit.

That certain inexpressible factor which transforms a track into a hit is well and truly present in Ink Dries. Whether it was their playful experimentalism with the beats and atmosphere, their evocative and energetic vocal delivery, or the tight, solid construction of the mix, we can’t be sure. But what we can be sure of, is that JOON deserves a place on your radar.  Ink may dry, but infectious upbeat bang-on-trend vibes drip from JOON’s latest release.

Cowboy Black – Hosting: A Lucidly Light Urban Genre-Mash

“Hosting” is just one of the lucidly mesmerising singles which you’ll find on up and coming alternative artist Cowboy Black’s self-titled debut album which dropped in 2019.

Through a gorgeous mash of Pop, Trap, RnB, EDM, and Soul, Cowboy Black was able to compose an ingeniously cathartic debut record. While each soundscape is tension-strippingly sublime, there’s a palpably magnetic feel to Hosting which draws you right into the centre of the polished eccentric production which offers a full tonal palette. Even though there are hints of melancholy which will resonate through the lyrics, vocals, and slightly colder instrumentals, overall, Hosting exudes a tonally sweet and warm vibe which you’ll undoubtedly want to indulge in time and time again after you’ve heard it.

Miles Casper – Hit the Spot: Entrancingly Fresh RnB Trap Pop

Miles Casper has followed on from the success of their first two singles with the equally as melodically smooth Pop Trap track “Hit the Spot”. You can’t help but feel and move to the rhythmic grind in Hit the Spot. It’s not all too often we can dub Pop Trap entrancing but Hit the Spot does exactly what it says on the tin.

By switching between harmonic Pop vocals and perfectly metered rapid-fire Rap bars, Miles Casper created a dynamic hit which you’re immediately hooked into from the prelude right up to the outro.  There’s also a lot to be said for the seamless fluidity of the lush instrumentals. Not to mention the radio-ready finish which they were able to achieve on the production.

The 19-year-old Melbourne-based artist and producer plans to drop a single each month in 2020. If any Alt Pop is worth having on your radar this year, it is Miles Casper.

BagBoyzzz – Paradise featuring Lexxii Mari: Idyllic Hip Hop Pop Escapism

BagBoyzzz

Breaking artist BagBoyzzz kicked off their 2020 by dropping an unmissable feat of Pop infused Hip Hop in collaboration with Lexxii Mari. The distinctive hit is an aural ticket to paradise which you’ll immediately want to add to your playlists to make sure you don’t lose it.

The lucidly light and vibrantly intricate instrumentals merge elements of Trap and contemporary smooth downtempo Pop to ensure that the soundscape offers the serenity which you’d expect from Paradise.

Paradise is a rare collaborative single in which the synergy between the artistic collaborators is perceptible at every progression. Lexxii’s hypnotically harmonic vocals were the perfect fit for the smooth flowing oceanic beats in Paradise. Here’s to hoping that we’ll hear more from them in the future.

Heads or Heads – Nightfall: Lo-Fi Trip-Hop Laced Psych Pop

Low Angles by Heads or Heads

The intellectualism practically drips from the synth-led latest single to be released by up and coming Alt Psych Pop artist Heads or Heads. “Nightfall” laces the dreamy lo-fi mix with subtle elements of Trip Hop to ensure that it offers plenty of Funk to take with you on your cathartically psychedelic Trip.

The Missouri based artist utilised archaic urban elements, deconstructed them, and revived them in an absorbingly fresh work of ingenuity.  Expect a kaleidoscope of colour to be spilt as it softly unravels.

If you can imagine what it would sound like if Mike Patton started releasing more ambient and melodic music, you’d get an idea of what Nightfall offers. Aural ambient treats don’t come much more indulgent than this.

Two World Creatives – That Love: Vibrantly Progressive Alt Pop

Two World Creatives made their debut in 2019 with the mind-expanding EP “Wait”. Each of the singles offers their own brand of mesmerism, but “That Love” is the perfect introduction to their eclectically vibrant style.

The track kicks off with a sermon on perfect love’s ability to cast out fear. Then, you’re led into a Reggae-soaked Electronica mix complete with soulful yet moody vocals and an eclectic smorgasbord of other elements. I almost don’t want to ruin the transcendental experience of allowing the melodies to aurally transport you to a sunny new plateau.

That Love is a deeply beguiling hit which may not instantly reveal what kind of soundscape you’re being rhythmically led into. But each progression will generously reward your curiosity.

Sephyr Patriq – Chamele-On Me ft. FoePound McGinnis: Experimentally Fresh RnB Pop

NYC-based artist Sephyr Patriq’s distinctive brand of urban Pop may not be what you’ve come accustomed to on the airwaves. But it is an undiluted offering of infectiously vibrant creative passion born from slick RnB vocals, unpredictably progressive beats, and a potent serving of emotion.

Their recently released single “Chamele-On Me” featuring Rap artist FoePound McGinnis is just one of the tracks which you will find on their emotively compelling debut album “Departure 1989”. It may not be an overly polished soundscape, but the true magic of Sephyr Patriq’s sound lies in their tendency to shake up Urban Pop as we know it.

If you’re looking for soulful eccentricity in your tracks, Sephyr Patriq has you covered.

Pop Artist Belly Harding Releases Her Latest Single “Mi Amor”

Pop Singer-songwriter Belly Harding has been creating rhythmically upbeat soundscapes since 2000, after having a break from recording, the release of her single “Mi Amor” released on October 17th marks her return.

With her Congo roots, she’s injected a little more organic rhythm in Mi Amor than what you’ll find in a typical Pop single. there are also tonally rich elements of R&B Pop weaved into the mix. While we could definitely appreciate the nostalgic 90s Pop behind Mi Amor mixed in with the contemporary EDM beats, the single was slightly predictable.

And, there’s no denying that Belly Harding possesses strong vocals, but it was hard to feel that the lyrics actually contributed to the single given the amount of repetition of the title. Having said that, it’s still an incredibly catchy hit, which may just become your next earworm.

Taylor Briggs – So So Bad: Rhythm Driven Urban Pop

Plenty of up and coming artists have tried their hand at creating the perfect smorgasbord of Pop, Indie, R&B & Hip Hop. Yet under the deft hands of Taylor Briggs his latest single “So So Bad” is a rhythmically infectious earworm with massive commercial potential. Music fans of all different persuasions will all find different reasons to fall in love with the sound. For Alt fans, there are plenty of chunky riffs whilst R&B lovers will find a massive amount of appeal in Taylor Briggs’ harmonically honeyed vocals.

The track keeps the perfect balance between emotively smooth vocals, dark and moody electronica, Jangle Pop guitars and urban rhythm. Around the euphoria of the choruses you’ll find of plenty of instrumental intricacy from LA-based Taylor Briggs who writes, produces, mixes, and masters all of his own tracks. With the ability to get all of that down to a fine art by the age of 20, that’s a clear sign that he’s definitely to be trusted with the future of genre-defying hits.

Jomerrick’s Latest Orchestrally Urban Pop Single “Low Tide” ft. Tyra Juliette:

With the lyrics to Jomerrick’s latest single “Low Tide” featuring Tyra Juliette reading as poignantly as a Shakespearean sonnet, it really was no surprise that the sentiment behind the track hits you like a tonne of bricks. The orchestral instrumentals to the Pop single served up a smorgasbord of resoundingly haunted alchemy for Tyra Juliette to lay down her soulfully pensive vocals. Yet, as heartfelt and touching as the single was, I couldn’t help but feel that the Trap style beat behind Low Tide was a little simplistic which made the sound a little dated. Whilst Low Tide may not sound like the most pioneering soundscape on the airwaves, you really can’t ask for much more in terms of perfectly executed harmony from a romantically-inclined ballad.
