Loosh – Get Out the House: Polyphonic Hip Hop Pop

https://youtu.be/AjcoezOI9Bk

Loosh’s latest Alt Pop single “Get Out the House” is exactly what you want to hear when you hit play on a new artist.

It’s got that instantaneous draw as your mind attempts to get to grips with a beguilingly fresh new soundscape, and the progressive track has quite the aural trip in store. From polyphonic key solos to Hip Hop-style grooves to moodily convictive Alt Pop vocals, Get Out the House contains it all plus plenty of other intricate nuances which affirm that Loosh puts innovation and expression at the forefront when writing their tracks.

If you’re as tired as assimilative uninspired music as I am, go and restore your faith in contemporary musicians. It may have been bad timing to release a track called Get Out of the House just before the world went into lockdown mode. Yet, we can appreciate the sentiment all the same.

Rome – 4get: Sentimentally Soulful RnB Hip Hop

If you hold any preconceptions about the Chicago Rap scene, prepare to throw them out of the window after you hit play on music from breaking RnB Hip Hop artist Rome.

Since they made their debut in 2017, Rome has been responsible for the creation of plenty of urban aural alchemy. Yet, the perfect introduction to their sentimentally soulful songwriting style is “4get”.

There may be plenty of melancholy in 4get. But Rome was able to infuse fractures of optimism within the instrumental melodies which offset the plaintive emotion which comes as a courtesy from the softly versed vocals and the humble introspection found in the lyrics. If you want to check if your soul still works, press play.

You can check out Rome’s standout single 4get for yourselves via Spotify where you’ll also be able to find their more recent releases.

DK – Okay: Soulfully-Sweet Inventively-Fresh Polyphonic Pop

We can always tell when good vibes have been made the cornerstone of a single, and it’s all too evident that Urban Alt Pop artist DK made it the essence of his recently released single “Okay”.

Throughout the tonally vibrant track, you’ll hear the repetition of the mantra “I’ll be okay”, with plenty of inspiring introspection in between. By the time you get to the outro, don’t be surprised if the playfully polyphonic mix has lifted your spirits and organically offered a heavy serving of optimism. It’s impossible not to be endeared by the feat of Hip Hop, Pop, Soul, and RnB.

I have a feeling of any fans of Nintendo-style chiptune tracks will definitely want Okay on their playlists.

Alt Pop Artist Nolai Has Dropped His Latest Single “Without You”

After his debut single dropped in Summer 2019, artist and producer Nolai’s sound has attracted a feverous amount of attention. With his magnetically mellow charismatic vibe, it’s all too easy to see why.

His latest single “Without You” is a melodically dreamy work of contemporary EDM Pop mixed with elements of Hip Hop and R&B. With ethereally-light reverb softening the beats in Without You, the track unravels with an ambient feel. Yet there’s still plenty of fire in the concordant mix –, especially through Nolai’s energetically passionate vocals. And with lyrics which transcend the usual lyrical Pop tropes, Nolai is pretty much a triple threat.

Without You is the first single to be released from Nolai’s debut EP “Wild Thoughts” which is due for release in March 2020. Make sure you keep up to date with all of his future releases via Facebook.

Hayden Brenen x L.D.N – Mi Cariño: Exotically Fresh Urban Alt Pop

For their latest release, London-based Pop artist Hayden Brenen teamed up with L.D.N to create their fieriest drop to date “Mi Cariño” which is sweet enough to simultaneously appeal to Pop, Latino, Rap, and Hip Hop fans alike.

With the smooth harmonic Latino Pop vocals mixed with L.D.N’s grimy yet charismatic Rap bars, there was an insane amount of sun-kissed chemistry in the mix – and that’s even before you consider the vibrantly rhythmic beats.

The exotically danceable single is a celebration of aural multiculturism. Neither genre or geography could constrain the euphoric energy in Mi Cariño. Perceptibly, it was a track born from pure creative expression.

Wyatt Roberts – Hate My Friends: Genre-Crushing Urban Alt Indie

Indie RnB Soul Pop artist Wyatt Roberts dropped their latest album “Hate My Friends” on January 3rd and made RnB Pop more melodic than ever.

You’ll hear plenty of urban/alternative crossover tracks on the airwaves already, yet Wyatt Roberts has firmly put his own infectiously sweet stamp down on in true pioneering style.

While each track is as evocatively captivating as the last, there’s no better introduction than the title track. The title track will allow you to imagine what Simple Plan would have sounded like if they incorporated Indie Post Punk, and RnB Trap into their sound. And that may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s easy to see that there will be plenty of Alt Pop fans who see the ingenuity which has been weaved into Hate My Friends.

While it feels like Hate My Friends would have been a stronger track if the lyrics ran a little cleaner. It’s still an incredible track which I’d recommend to anyone who is always o the lookout for something a little different to add to their playlists.

You can check out Hate My Friends via Spotify and iTunes.

Sarah Reynolds – I Need Love: Expressively Powerful RnB Pop

Sarah Reynolds

You’ll find plenty of minced words and sentiment on the airwaves, but with up and coming artist Sarah Reynold’s latest single “I Need Love” you get a fresh cut of emotion.

Sarah Reynolds’ expressively powerful take on an RnB gives you the same iron-wrought emotion of a traditional ballad. Yet I Need Love is a track which takes its own distinctive form through the modern stylistic instrumental arrangement and Sarah Reynold’s tensile evocative vocals.

The open and unabashed lyrics are transfixing from start to finish. No one really likes admitting that they need love; there’s a socially constructed sense of weakness which surrounds it. I Need Love forcibly blew those perceptions out of the water and served a sharp stark reminder that everyone needs love. With that in mind, I Need Love is undoubtedly one of the most powerful singles on the topic of love I’ve heard in a while. And what better date for it to be released on than Valentine’s Day?

I Need Love will be available to stream on all major platforms including Spotify from February 14th.

Julian King – Neva Needed: Soul-Deep RnB

Up and coming R&B Pop artist Julian King dropped their latest mix “Neva Needed” on December 7th. With their contemporary approach to R&B which resonates through the nuanced vibrant beats, you don’t even need to get to the chorus before deciding that Neva Needed is a hit.

Julian King’s R&B Pop-style vocals find the perfect balance in the mix. The momentum may ebb and flow, yet the hooks will make sure that your attention is never in danger of faltering. If Julian’s king’s vocals are good enough to get him on the Voice, they’re definitely good enough of a reason to put him on your radar.

Brandon Rivers – Delete My Number. Resonantly Smooth Urban Pop

RnB Soul Pop artist Brandon Rivers dropped his most evocative track to date with “Delete My Number.” The single perfectly captures the frustrations of 21st-century dating and just how difficult it is to technologically break-free.

There’s plenty of wistful romantic resonance to soak up in the smooth Urban Pop Jam which also drips with commercial potential. With Delete My Number. Brandon Rivers has found the perfect balance between delivering pioneering futurism while keeping their sound accessible.

With Trap beats combined with melodic Indie licks and RnB Pop harmonic vocals, Delete My Number is a rhythmically arrestive earworm which packs an emotive punch that you’ll want to be bruised by more than once.

Noah Fabray has dropped their latest meltingly amorous urban pop hit “House Bunni”

Noah Fabray appeared on our radar with the unexpectedly compelling track “Insta Hoe” in 2019. And they have left us equally as transfixed by their first release in 2020 “House Bunni”.

With the lucidly smooth feat of RnB Soul Pop, they brought crooning right into the contemporary. There’s a sentence I never thought I’d say. Yet, Noah Fabray’s quintessential charm is insanely potent in House Bunni. It’s sweet, it’s sublime, and if you can allow the track to mellifluously make its way to the outro without falling enamoured with Noah Fabray’s vocals, I’ve got some bad news about your soul.

Much like their previous single Insta Hoe, House Bunni provides a unique narrative on all the things that are a little bit wrong in the world. Yet, with the soulful sticky-sweet air to the single, you can’t bring yourself to entertain the idea of existentialism that the world is a little toxic and capitalistic. If WW3 broke out, I’d want Noah Fabray to be the one to break the news.

You can check out Noah Fabray’s single House Bunni for yourselves via Spotify or Apple Music.
