Maple Sky – Free Her

Jazz, pop and RnB fusionists Maple Sky released their most seminal single to date with ‘Free Her’, which allows anyone in the process of walking away from a toxic relationship to see the light.

It was a bold theme for the ensemble to tackle. Considering that they did it with so much soul-laden compassion, they hit the evocative mark with the track that allows the intricate orchestration to explore the bright path that opens up when shackles of insidious affection are shaken off.

The smooth melodies, authentically airy vocals and wisdom so poignant it’s evident that it was hard fought for pull together to prove that the world isn’t as loveless as narcissists make you feel it is. By all accounts, it’s a stunning track. We can’t wait to hear where the UK-based ensemble take their fusion sound next.

Free Her is available to stream on Spotify.

Add eccentric soul to your RnB summer playlists with Elliot Danger Kid’s latest single, ‘Much Too Much’.

Before making his solo debut, Margate, UK-based hip hop artist, Elliot Danger Kid worked alongside the likes of Sean Paul, Little Mix, Take That and Clean Bandit. Cache-Cache pulls back the curtain in their soul-funk single, ‘Pantomime’, featuring Alice Grace and Ken Masters.

‘Pantomime’ is the latest quirky, jazz-instilled RnB soul track from the up and coming alternative North-East based ensemble, Cache-Cache; an artist quickly becoming renowned for their quintessentially eclectic sound. It’s theatrical without feeling novel or pretentious, thanks to the playful sense of accessibility behind the grooves that were made to melt into.

You’d probably need a serious concussion to forget the lyrical hook-filled chorus. After Pantomime has demonstrated its earworm potential, the grimy, gritty, almost nu-metal-style rap bars allow the track to take a tectonic shift in tone, leaving you even more immersed in the colourful melodies.

Pantomime is due for release on June 4th; you can check it out via YouTube.

Jace Heyman is going to get to us ‘One By One’

The second single from forthcoming E.P. ‘Lovin’ Under The Influence’ (following-up his debut, ‘Drunk Text’), ‘One By One’ is a little slice of modern R&B that mixes up Usher and Timberlake with The Weeknd, Future, and Drake. It’s a chilled, mellow track, deep bass and laid-back programmed parts underlaying Heyman’s relaxed, gentle upper-register vocal. Mixed in with collaborator Jaq Moon

‘One By One’ has got daytime Radio One or Kiss FM written all over it; that smooth-groove soulful sort of R&B vibe going on, that sort of beach-day chill out relaxing-yet-uplifting track that’s contemporary yet comfortingly old-school all at once.

‘One By One’ is out now across all major streaming platforms. You can hear it now on Spotify, and follow Jace Heyman on Facebook and Twitter.

UK RnB newcomer Zoe Yovéla radiates soul in her third single, ‘ Sun’.

Up and coming UK-based artist Zoe Yovéla has released her third soulfully serenading RnB single ‘Sun’. With the light jazz piano keys and solid trap beats under waves of lush reverb and her absorbing vocals, the soundscape is a welcome reprieve from our current climate.

Her distinguished approach to production is just as refreshing as the personality she contributes to the single. With faith as the inspiration behind her music, Zoe Yovéla is all too happy to hand you rose-tinted glasses that will help you scope out the beauty in the world instead of constantly scavenging for justification for existentialism.

Sun is the kind of track that could easily stand the test of time while leaving every listener hooked by the contemporary resonance. She’s definitely one for the radar.

Millie Gibson serves smoky, jazzy soul in her debut single ‘Leon’

Amy Winehouse comparisons are easy to make, but there’s plenty more reasons to get excited about Millie Gibson’s striking vocal timbre in her debut single, ‘Leon’, than just reminiscences to a soul icon.

The smoky, jazzy serving of soul is as refined as contemporary RnB gets. Which is even more impressive given that the singer-songwriter and pianist achieved such maturity and nuance in her sound at the age of just 19-years-old.

Even with the state of socio-political uncertainty in the UK, on the basis of Leon, the future looks incredibly bright for Millie Gibson. There’s an unparalleled sense of sensitivity in her sound. You don’t need her bio to tell you that she strives to make the most purposeful music she is capable of. Just hit play.

Relive your digital traumas with RnB Pop artist Jace Heyman’s debut single “Drunk Text”

If you’ve ever sent a life-ruining drunk text, Jace Heyman’s debut single may bring back some raw memories, but the smooth melodious rhythms offer plenty of consolation.

The Hertford-based R&B singer-songwriter’s debut perfectly encapsulates that hideous feeling of still being in love with someone and feeling your heart break a little bit more when you know that you can’t convey those emotions anymore.

With a sound which grooves along with the contemporary curve and the fact that their first release has added a distinctive voice onto the airwaves, it’s hard not to be excited by the prospect of Jace Heyman’s sophomore single.

Drunk Text is available to stream on all major services via this link.
