Marnie Mags is cheeky and charming on her vibrant video for ‘Mouth to Mouth’

Marnie Mags had a lot of fun making this video and her enjoyment is clear for us to see on ‘Mouth to Mouth‘.

Marnie Mags is a supremely soulful country-pop singer-songwriter, from the South Coast of England. With soaring vocals, she writes heartbreakingly catchy songs about life, love, the universe, and lays them down effortlessly over driving, rhythmic guitar hooks. You will be moved, you will want to dance, you will be transported.
She has a style to her and the vibe is so authentic. She seems down to earth and real which is a pleasure to see.

Since the release of her debut single ‘Strangers’ she has released a 2nd single called ‘Mouth to Mouth’ which has a more modern country feel to it, and compared to the earlier days of the Dixie chicks but with more of an edge.

Mouth to Mouth‘ from Marnie Mags is a lips-seducing single with a fab video that captures the UK artist perfectly. With a glorious voice and charm to spare, I can’t wait to see her play live.

Ettie sings with delicious vocals on ‘Pepsi’

Singer-songwriter Ettie is back with more fantastic music on ‘Pepsi‘.

Ettie is an up and coming singer-songwriter from London, who drinks a lot of wine and has a lot of feelings. She infuses classic pop-punk melodies with personal, storytelling narratives. Her unique sound coupled with her background in English Literature allows for an immersive sonic experience, using word play and allusion to bring her songs to life.

You hate the way they talk their way up and aren’t sure if they are right for you, you go with it however. After a while, reality strikes and you start to regret what is going on. The temptation starts to fade however and things need to move quickly otherwise you will go home.

Ettie’s influences are Paramore, Avril Lavigne, Pale Waves, 80s synth pop, Kim Wilde, Patti Smith, L Devine. She has played at many London venues, supporting acts like Calvin Rodgers. This new song was self-written and produced by Charles Westropp in his studio. The song is highly influenced by 80s synth-pop to bring a classic delivery to a classic story.

Pepsi‘ is Ettie’s pop fantasy. She turns towards commercial from her classic pop-punk roots to establish herself as a true alt-pop artist. The song is about not having a dazzling connection with someone, but deciding to go with it anyway; like when you ask for a Coke in a restaurant and they ask if pepsi is okay? It’s not exactly what you ordered but it’s a start.

This is a sweet song with such interesting lyrics from Ettie on her new song ‘Pepsi‘. The way she expresses herself is so fantastic and this is a true tale of nights out after a few drinks. I love her music and she is like no other artist. This is a good thing.

‘In the Moment’ is the fine new single from Christaleni

Christaleni is back with her fab new track called ‘In the Moment‘ and this is a top effort from this fantastic young singer.

London born Greek artist Christaleni, was born in 1994 and has brought out two singles so far. She likes to share her music fusion of influences with a mix of Latin, European and Greek sounds. This is the great thing about this young singer. She brings her own style to the mix and isn’t trying to copy anyone. I love it when musicians bring their own mix to proceedings rather than trying to fit into any particular box that is so restrictive.

Christaleni is very passionate about all things to do with music, dance and culture. Having only started her musical journey in songwriting in 2019, Christaleni pays homage to her Greek heritage through her music with a modern twist.

Christaleni likes to be ‘In the Moment‘ and this is a song about that. Whether it be about love or music, this terrific young talent with a sweet soul puts on her creativity hat and styles greatly here. A big future awaits if she can stay focused and get that big break.

‘Roadblock’ from Brighton band Compliments is a debut dripped in gold

4-piece Brighton band Compliments rock in with their brand new single called ‘Roadblock‘.

Formed in 2020 and brought together by the band Gods as a way of freshening up the music scene. This is all about escapism and that feeling encapsulated 2020 in a nutshell. The feeling of being trapped all inside and looking outside by the window.

Roadblock‘ is a rocking indie-rock soundtrack that needs to be in a Netflix series. There is bite here, an edge to this young UK band. For a new team, they are in-sync like a glove that fits your hand, they are on the right side of time here. They might be the wrong side of the road and clock in this one lyric-wise but their emergence is met with real excitement.

Brighton band Compliments get better and better as the songs gears into the meaty part of the bone. There is lots to feed off here as they bands sound takes over. This is a terrific track that makes me listen again and again. Yes, this song is timeless and deserves lots of love. For a debut release, this is a great day to be alive. Turn this up and forget your worries.

Welsh band Twin Stranger return with awesome 3rd single ‘White’

Indie Rock/Avant-pop group from South Wales, Twin Stranger, are back with a fiery new song and it’s called ‘White‘.

Twin Stranger is a Welsh 5 piece power-pop project led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Alex McConnachie. The band’s sound is a mix of hooky bass-driven pop melodies, synth freak-outs and dreamy guitar soundscapes. Initially a bedroom recording project, McConnachie enlisted his multi-instrumentalist brother Liam as well as friends, bassist Josh Newington, Joe Tobin on keyboards and drummer Eric Karvik.

Following 2 successful singles so far in 2020 (‘Tears of Joy‘ and ‘Crushed‘), this is the new single that half of Wales have been waiting for. ‘White’ has a peaceful energy to it and I love the baselines here.

“The song is about the type of night where things start to go a bit pear shaped, people get intoxicated and one person says the wrong thing and the night escalates. I always end up being the mediator, trying desperately to defuse the situation.” This is Alex’s words and he is to be admired for this attitude. You always need someone who keeps the peace.

White’ from Twin Stranger is a strong new song from the awesome Welsh band who sound like a class outfit. With incredible riffs and flows, they are a quality UK act that must be bursting at the seams to play live again.

Alex Lleo is on top form with brilliant ‘Easy Way’

Alex Lleo is back in a big way with his excellent new indie-pop release called ‘Easy Way’.

Alex Lleo is a singer-songwriter from Birmingham and he returns with such a gem of a song that will let us all think about what is around us.

Spending time in nature – in Worcestershire’s Lickey Hills where Alex lives and grew up, the awe-inspiring Scandinavian mountains, and surfing the various coastlines of the British Isles has shaped Alex’s creative outlook. You can hear his attraction to the natural world, its peace and its drama, in his music, which is exquisitely-paced, laid-back and rich in melody.

This is such a lovely song and I love Alex’s voice. The vocals are smooth and his stories can be related to. Not taking the easy way out is the answer and instead doing things with a glint in your eye, staying positive no matter what 2020 has brought you. This is a time for us to heal. Alex Lleo from Birmingham does precisely that on ‘Easy Way’.

South East London teen singer Tizane sizzles on flamed out love ‘He Took It All Back’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozv8FhGAebs

Tizane sings so beautifully on her honest indie-folk track and visuals for ‘He Took It All Back‘.

Tizane adds her brand of brilliant comedy horror on ‘He Took It All Back‘. The video is a welcome eerie pastiche of the Stanley Kubrick cult classic, The Shining, and features all the poster icons and characters, like Room 237, The tricycle, Jack Torrance, his son Danny, and of course The Grady Twins. A rising star in the USA, Germany and getting noticed through the world, this is an artist who’s brilliantly created music is getting the love it deserves.

Tizane has had an incredible two year journey despite her private battle with anxiety issues and the broader negatives around global pandemics and such. In 2018 she was hawking a handful of well-constructed ethereal ballads around the open mic pubs and clubs of Kent with an old guitar and the less than likely dream of a music career. With determination and sheer lack of alternatives kept her out there and from there she got her noticed. With lots of radio support and a massive loyal fan-base, this self-aware young teen singer with an old soul, is going places.

M25 Carpark teen Tizane sings so honestly and her voice is so real and striking to the heart, in a really good way. She is a creative who has managed to do her exams in this crazy time and has just stayed positive throughout. Her music is so relevant in 2020 and I can’t wait to see her play live. ‘He Took It All Back‘ is a quality song from London’s Tizane.

A debut to remember with The Foolks on ‘The Most Beautiful Queen’

International band The Foolks are here with their indie rock fused freshness called ‘The Most Beautiful Queen‘.

The band were formed from the flames of a pandemic. The Foolks simply wouldn’t exist without COVID-19. Their name is a  reflection of the world’s current situation and  based on a combination of the words ‘folks’ (people) and ‘fool’ (crazy).

With an abundance of musical experience between them, The Foolks have overcome both geographical & pandemic induced barriers, working from around the globe to create a lockdown project unlike any other. This is such an inspiration and a sign of things to come.

Jupiter’s Beard plead for leaders on indie rock ‘Mr. Billionaire’

Stoke-On-Trent rockers Jupiter’s Beard are back with their new indie track that fires through the streets on ‘Mr. Billionaire‘.

From the backdrop of post-industrial struggle, Jupiter’s Beard have galvanized the youth in their home city of Stoke-on-Trent. Their close musical bond, formed during early school years, has driven Jupiter’s Beard to deliver a well-developed sound and artistic maturity that is so clear to see. They are ready for the big time. This is a band that rocks.

Mr. Billionaire‘ is a call for those with money to do better. We need good leaders at this time to see what is needed to fully help the UK. Right now, things are a mess and funding is needed to keep the music scene as healthy as possible. With fiery indie rock vocals that shines through, I love the rhythm of this new single from Jupiter’s Beard. They do their best to inspire the local community and are a band we can all get behind.
