Embers Burn Brightly

Woman, the first musical card from Embers forth coming album, is all the ammunition that you will need to convince you that pop is in safe hands, though pop isn’t really an effective enough term to pin down where this song sits generically. Yes, it has all the infectiousness and accessibility that the genre implies but there is so much more going on as well. It has the glitchy groove of a trip-hop classic, the sultry sass of a soul standard and a brooding and considered alt-rock presence.

And that is the joy of the modern musical world, as genres bleed into each other and boundaries are no longer stumbling blocks, savvy artists realise that anything is possible. Whilst many acts attempting such generic musical fusions find that the result is a watered down middle ground which seems to be a musical compromise, Embers instead seem to feel more intense and more focused than the rest and the result is a wonderful strand of dark alternative pop that for all its brooding undercurrents heralds in a bright future for music.

Komraus Release Trip-Hop Cinematic Video For “If I Am Dreaming”

Komraus is a live cinematic music trio group band that’s based in London. This music group has long been shunning out mind thrilling songs that capture the interest of their listening audience in most of their live shows and music exhibition. Clearly, you shouldn’t expect anything less than quality from this song.

Sara has an amazing vocal power that can easily make you remember the last time you felt so emotional. The mastered sound of the instruments in the music is quite soothing and well placed to create a distinct balance that shields the usual side sound reverberation that comes with this kind of music performance.

This song can subtly be described as those musical theme songs in a movie that can transfix you to a whole new level of the picturesque sound landscape.

How Giuseppe handled those acoustic and electronic drums in the beginning of the song is so intriguing and captivating. Miguel didn’t disappoint on his path as well, the impact of his synth and his piano magic was fully experienced once again in this song.

This is a powerful song with nice lyrics that speaks more on human feelings and desire for love.

Vandenborre Release Atmospheric Track ‘The Unstoppable View’

Vandenborre is an independent band with a truly unique approach to their music. Their sound blurs the lines between trip hop, alternative rock and experimental music in a truly special way. Their recent song, “The Unstoppable View”, is a masterfully produced track that has some fascinating atmospheres and hypnotic sonic fabrics.

The clever and unusual melodies of this song make me think of artists as diverse as Bjork or The XX, but Vandenborre also have a slightly old school feel, which echoes back to the sound of great 70s rock music (including bands such as Pink Floyd or Tangerine Dream, just to mention but a few).

The most striking thing about this production is definitely the oneiric feel of the composition, and the way the understated and elegant recordings managed to capture the group’s stunning artistic vision in full. The artwork also deserves a special mention, as it truly speaks volumes about the tone and feel of the music itself.
Vandenborre managed in the hard task of combining different musical influences into a formula that can unquestionably be identified as their own.

“The Unstoppable View” is a song that feels dreamy and ethereal, with cascading melodies and stunning vocal harmonies that add depth and presence to the whole arrangement.

Alternative Artist ‘Little Sain✚’ Drops Remix of Track ‘Round and Round’

The best music is that which doesn’t sit neatly into any one genre, and in not doing so it shows an understanding that such constructs are at best self-imposed limitations, at worst sonic demarcations reinforced by those to afraid to explore beyond their own comfort zones. Little Saint is happy to wander across such artificial boundaries, a perfect example of the post-genre world that we find ourselves in.

With each listen you uncover more layers to this subtle and supple musical blend. Hip-hop beats and trip-hop anticipation builds a structure on which Little Saint hangs the more expected grime and rap references but also chilled late night jazz saxophone, plaintive neo-classical piano, ambient dream-pop and an inherent soulfulness.

Sounding like the score to a film that was too emotive to ever be shown to the masses, the music often hangs almost beyond reach, like morning mists being described with classical piano passages and minimal beats, and electronica that comes across like half heard radio white noise, the distant voices of aliens or angels being harnessed into a language that we have yet to learn.

It isn’t often you bump into music like that is it?

When discussing the recording process of the track, Little Sain✚ cites,

“The remix happened fairly quickly. Genesis Elijah heard it and put his part on it the same day. We didn’t really discuss anything conceptually because he just felt it and knew exactly what to do. When I heard his verse I was really excited because he took the feeling and became the song. I think he raps some really clever lyrics on there too”

‘Round and Round’ is accompanied by visuals that were created by artist Dr. F**joy consisting of more than 5000 digital paintings made from just one photo taken of Little Sain✚. The track has been released through Halogram Records and more information about Little Sain✚ can be found on his social media pages and official website.
