”Livewire” by Redgrave Jones is a Trip-Hop jazzy journey for the ages

Luckiest Girl In The World by Redgrave Jones

You have always has a feeling that you are a bit of a trouble maker and can be temperamental. You are always straight to the point and people respect that. Being a live-wire can be tough and people expect you to be the life of the party. You are worthwhile and have a heart of gold.

Los Angeles in California is the home of the sultry-voice goddess of a musician, Redgrave Jones. I’m blown away on my chair listening to this single. I wish I could see her live with the band. Her voice transfixes me and I feel like she controls my every move while listening. Redgrave’s style is diverse and you can see that she is inspired by different genres.

Livewire” is taken from her ”Luckiest Girl In The World” EP from 2017. This is an incredible song with loads of trip-hop jazzy soul laced with a beautifully stunning bluesy bow-tie full of goodness. A dazzling effort here and I am excited to hear more from Redgrave Jones as she is such a tantalizing talent.

Pop meets Chill Hop in IIsaiah Bennett’s Blissfully Sweet 3rd single “Ride with Me”

While some artists have felt hindered by the lockdown, up and coming Pop artist IIsaiah Bennett has perceptibly been inspired and put his talent to good use.

After making their debut with “Corona” and following it up with the incredible sophomore release “Right Here”, they’ve dropped yet another blissfully sweet single “Ride with Me”. The resonance within the track allows it to unfold like an aural cuddle. That’s as close to a cuddle as some people are going to get these days.

With rhythmically magnetic nuances of Hip Hop in the Pop mix, Ride with Me will add plenty of high vibe groove to your playlists. The melodic beats may be soft, but there’s little chance you’ll forget the deftly orchestrated hit which you’ll be all too happy to give repeat attention.

dotCom – This is the Day featuring Jtuck: Transcendentally Sweet Ambient Trip Hop

https://fermanchu.bandcamp.com/track/this-is-the-day-ft-jtuck

For their seminal single This is the Day Atlanta-based up and coming Hip Hop artist dotCom teamed up with Jtuck to create a hypnotically cathartic feat of smooth Trip Hop which is all too easy to sink into.

The ambiently sweet production has an insanely strong magnetic pull which allows you to lock into the transfixing Rap bars and pay careful attention to the wit and wisdom which the lyrics were born from.

This is the Day is a track you hit play on and it allows you to instantly receive gratification. Tension is soon stripped by the ethereally light melodic beats while dotCom and Jtuck verse their succinctly metered poetry leaving you inspired by the insightful introspection.

You can stream and download This is the Day which dropped on May 26th for yourselves by heading over to Bandcamp.

Heads or Heads – Nightfall: Lo-Fi Trip-Hop Laced Psych Pop

Low Angles by Heads or Heads

The intellectualism practically drips from the synth-led latest single to be released by up and coming Alt Psych Pop artist Heads or Heads. “Nightfall” laces the dreamy lo-fi mix with subtle elements of Trip Hop to ensure that it offers plenty of Funk to take with you on your cathartically psychedelic Trip.

The Missouri based artist utilised archaic urban elements, deconstructed them, and revived them in an absorbingly fresh work of ingenuity.  Expect a kaleidoscope of colour to be spilt as it softly unravels.

If you can imagine what it would sound like if Mike Patton started releasing more ambient and melodic music, you’d get an idea of what Nightfall offers. Aural ambient treats don’t come much more indulgent than this.

Scott Creek – Rackies ft Malik: Lucidly Cathartic Dreamwave Trap

https://soundcloud.com/scottxcreek/rackies-feat-malik

Hip Hop artist & producer Scott Creek teamed up with Malik for their latest lucid Trap release “Rackies”. Consider it a playlist essential if you’re always on the hunt for chilled vibes which have been orchestrated and produced with ample amounts of concordance.

With plenty of Dreamwave elements weaved into the mix, it unfolds as a trippily cathartic soundscape, but there’s plenty of bass propping up the softer delicate notes. The lyrics may be fairly abstract and light, yet Scott Creek still ensured that there was plenty of sticky-sweet soul in Rackies. It’s a flawless mix with pitch-perfect production and it gives us plenty of excitement over what’s to come from the up and coming artist.

Marquis Noble Releases Their Latest Single “Who Knows” ft. Dr. Joe Dispenza

Marquis Noble’s latest Hip Hop track “Who Knows” kicks off with a reality-redefining monologue on the skewed concepts we hold in regard to our own personal realities. But there’s very little time to sink into a mind hole about the philosophy you’ve just ingested, as Marquis Noble immediately follows up with their own poignantly jarring introspection.

The melodic, dreamy, and transient mix makes it all too easy to drink in Marquis Noble’s poetically meta bars. Producer Bvtman pulled the track together to offer an ambient and trippy vibe which almost makes Who Knows a transcendental soundscape.

Hip Hop which resonates with such intellectualism will always be welcome on our radar.

BoogaTronic – Impossible: A Debut of Funk-Filled Trip Hop

“Impossible” is the debut single from up and coming UK artist BoogaTronic who has a perceptibly deft hand when it comes to putting together a lush bed of vibrant Funk-filled Trip Hop. Impossible may be a downtempo mix, yet, the visceral energy which runs through the melodic track relays nothing but good vibes. And they’re not the ‘good-vibes’ sound that gets rammed down your throat, instead, the subtle ecstasy in Impossible flows naturally. Sampling “the Impossible Dream” was an act of pure ingenuity, with those silky vocals slipping into the groove-tight arrangement, Impossible was never going to fall flat. The single was never created to fit neatly within any genre category, instead BoogaTronic used a myriad of different EDM elements to create a fresh new take on EDM Funk.

ANGELLIKEFIRE – DarkInTheWhole: Dark Electronic Trip Hop

Looking for some commandingly rhythmic electronica to add to your playlists? Look no further than the latest drop from ANGELLIKEFIRE. The up and coming artist’s latest single DarkInTheWhole is sure to enamour any fans of Lydia Lunch’s dark Avant Garde style.

While the mix may only be little over a minute long the fast-paced Electronic Trip Hop single still treats you to a soundscape you’re not likely to forget in a hurry.

With vocals just as resounding as her production style it’s easy to see how the pioneeringly indulgent artist will be making waves with her tracks which bleed stylistic chaos into the mix. As much as I loved DarkInTheWhole, I’d love to hear what ANGELLIKEFIRE could do with a full-length track.

Sitting in contrast to the beats which are potent enough to take you on an aural trip are the fiery vocals through which he still retains command, drawing you even further into the mix of Sensations.

Plastic Teardrops – Next Level: The Only Trip Hop Ballad You’ll Need on Your Playlists

Close To The Ground by Plastic Teardrops

“Next Level” is an upcoming single from the experimental artist Plastic Teardrops’ latest album “Close to the Ground”. Usually he is better known for his unique mixes of Trip Hop and Downtempo Acoustic, yet Next Level is a striking ballad featuring ethereally clear female vocals. As much as I adored the single, and as tolerant as I can be of the organic nature of Lo Fi sound, the single wasn’t the easiest to listen to at high volume. Yet, it’s tangible that the Barcelona-based artist and producer has a clear talent for aural expression with his Urban rhythms, contemporary composition style and subtle transitions between the single.

You’ll have to wait a little longer for the release of Next Level, but you can check out the singles from Plastic Teardrops’ album which have already been released via Bandcamp now.
