Toxic

Maryama teased her listeners through the time signatures in her jazz fusion reimagining of Britney Spears’ Toxic

Though covers often pale in comparison to their originals, Maryama’s rendition of Britney Spears’ Toxic stands as a seductive exception. This renaissance of a pop classic, draped in the finery of loungey jazz fusion, is fittingly intoxicating.

Maryam Mirbagheri, known artistically as Maryama, infused her multicultural musical prowess into this track, creating a soundscape that’s as rich in texture as it is in history. Her Iranian-American heritage, coupled with a profound grounding in jazz, soul, Persian, and classical music, sets the stage for a rendition of Toxic that’s almost inconceivably intimate.

The track begins with a seductive ease with complex time signatures weaving a hypnotic tapestry that’s both intricate and inviting. It’s a bold move, transforming a well-known pop anthem into something that feels more at home in a smoky jazz club than on a dance floor, but Maryama executes it with nothing short of remarkable finesse.

Her rich, airy, and velvety vocals glide over the music to breathe new life into the lyrics while the song retains its catchy core, despite the adornments of decadent instrumentals. For those who have yet to experience her music, this track is the perfect gateway into the lush, diverse world of Maryama.

I Feel Your Pain: Iphis reminds her father of their special all-lasting love on I Will Be There

Leading us deep into the toxic but relatable story which almost shattered her in half from witnessing a parent show their dark side so blatantly, the wildly creative Iphis returns with a real account that should put many into a deep reflective gaze, I Will Be There.

Iphis Well is a French indie pop singer-songwriter who loves to make people dance and she is known for her stunningly authentic aura, incredible style and striking hairstyles.

I wrote this song for my father. It talks about how the narcissistic perversion of my mother affected our relationship and mental health. This is also a love letter, to remind him that despite of the distance we have now, I will always be there for him, until the end.” ~ Iphis Well

Sung with marvellous tenderness and love for the betterment of humanity, Iphis Well shows us it is imaginable to love even if it’s rather hard sometimes.

With ear-tingling vocals and so much to think about, this is a rather important song made with true care. After understandably holding back from releasing this for a while, we find a courageous anthem to love unconditionally.

I Will Be There from French indie pop singer-songwriter Iphis Well is a hauntingly exquisite reminder that no matter what happened in the past, there is a bond so deep waiting to be held. Steering us wonderfully through a hugely private moment, we feel the passion of a maturing soul who guides us into the true love she will never forget. No matter the past.

Displaying much maturity and standing tall after he was feeling rather bleak for so long, Stibs returns with another gem and displays his lyrical quality with a magnificently smooth and memorable performance.

From a production standpoint, his instrumentals blend vintage samples and instrumentation with clean and modern drum sounds.” ~ Stibs

Rather Be Alone‘ from Tracy, California-based Hip hop artist and music producer Stibs is one of those songs that makes you turn back the hands of time and remember back to that hurtful place. This is an emotional plea to himself as he wishes he had left when the time was right, before being pulled back into something that wasn’t ever going to last. Performed with a truthful tone that shows us the proper story, this is a tremendous track that will so relevant for anyone who has felt that they have wasted their time (and money) with the wrong person.

Toxic – Pass Out: An Ode To Our Debauched Humanity

Paypa Tunes Presents ‘Pass Out’ produced by Tailormade and written & performed by the talented underground Hip Hop Rap enigma that is Toxic which was released on 02 November 2017 to treat Hip Hop & Rap fans to some fast, heavy, percussion soaked beats all packaged together in a timeless vintage styling. Pass Out could easily contend with some of the hardest rap beats of all time. Toxic’s variant is vocals keeps you on your toes throughout the track, and in parts terrified. The lyrics are a harmony of aggressive energy. One of the rappers sounds like he’s under the influence of a demon possession rapping about juice & gin, if you can get over the almost comedic effect start to finish it’s a great track to immerse yourself within. It’s a short piece of music to sink your teeth into!

The context behind the song won’t win toxic any Nobel Prizes for Philosophic wonder, it’s a playful track about his intoxicated ventures leading to the inevitability of him passing out on the couch after watching Oprah. The lyrics make the track incredible human, there’s no crass grandiose like there is in most Hip Hop & Rap tracks. There’s a soulful humility to it, a reminder of our own debauched humanity.
