Today, London-based artist Tom Speight releases ‘The River’ (2.6.17), the first single from Tom Speight’s new EP ‘My My My’ (rel 28.7.17)
Speaking on the track, Tom says: ‘I’ve always wanted to record ‘The River’ with Chris Bond. I knew that he would capture the mood of the song and layered atmospheric texture of it. The production uses a similar palette as ‘Willow Tree’ with it’s strings, female vocals and double bass. I’ve got fond memories of recording this track because we would always work on it at night because of its chilled nature. I was lucky enough to have Allie Moss feature on guest vocals, she has such a beautiful tone to her voice. I remember the first time I heard her on the BT TV advert I Shazam’d the song and messaged her on Twitter, asking if she would be up for singing on one of my tracks, thankfully she said yes’ .
Having released 4 EP’s over the last year. Tom releases another quartet of EP’s in 2017/2018, the first of which ‘Willow Tree’ was released in Jan ‘17. The 2nd EP ‘My My My’’ follows in July, the 3rd and 4th in the Autumn of 2017 and early 2018.
TOUR DATES
Tom will be supporting Turin Breaks in October and a headline tour in November is also confirmed.
