A Hope For The Future – Loaded Gun: Wake Up To The Future Of Dream Pop.

Ironically the band Hope for the Future does just that for its genre with their debut hit Loaded Gun.

A Hope for The Future are a futuristic collective of musician’s which hail from Stockholm, Sweden with their effervescent Alternative Dream Pop Sound. Their New track Loaded Gun alludes to their musical influences. The female lead vocalist has all of the powerful synergy of fellow singers from The Cardigans, and The XX whilst the minimalist in part, monstrous in others is a slight nod to other contemporary Alternative artist such as M83 and Arcade fire.

They create an enriched harmony throughout the track through the effect of the jingling guitar which rattles charismatically all through the track to lead it up to an explosive sound in the chorus. A Hope For The Future have definitely created an anthem through Loaded Gun that wouldn’t be out of place on a Made In Chelsea soundtrack.

The collective have created a universally lovable sound with their relatable and resonant styling that shines with euphoric charisma.

Sunday Store – See The Sunshine – Electronic Pop With An Indie Vibe And Lots Of Layering Melodies.

Sunday Store is a driven, direct and eclectic music project that focuses on a unique blend of electronic pop music. The act’s recent release is a brand new single titled “See The Sunshine”, available through Youtube and accompanied by a stunning lyrics video for all of those who wish to sing along! The song is inspired by EDM and retro electronic music, with vocals that make me think of the work by artists as diverse as Empire of The Sun, Planet Funk or MGMT, just to mention but a few.

“See The Sunshine” is powerful, direct and edgy as a single, yet it is bright and uplifting, highlighting the band’s sonic coordinates perfectly. The production of the song also deserves a special mention. One of the biggest challenges of this kind of electronic music is certainly the concept of retaining a very organic sound, preventing it from sounding too sterile or aseptic. In this particular case, Sunday Store certainly managed to create a thick, organic and exciting musical backdrop, allowing the vocals to unfold over the track and fit seamlessly within this perfectly balanced song mix.

Ah Trees Releases New Wave Indie Rock Track “Do It All Wrong”

Hailing from Perth, Australia, Ah Trees set out to create an interesting blend of new wave and indie-pop, with psychedelic overtones. They learned lessons from their fellow Aussies, Tame Impala, but also from timeless acts such as INXS (another legendary band from the land down under), The Police or Tears For Fears.

Ah Trees set out to offer their own special twist on such influences, transposing the aesthetics of new wave music into the modern indie-rock format with excellent result. Do It All Wrong also features a collaboration with Moody Beach, bringing a distinctive twist to the track.

The track is the first single taken from their upcoming sophomore release! Find out more here

Lucille Furs Release 60’s Vibe Track ‘Our Lady of Perpetual Frustration’

Lucille Furs is one of those bands who managed to accomplish the difficult task of combining interesting sonic textures with honesty and intimacy. People don’t really think about it a lot, but one of the hardest things for an artist in any genre, in my opinion, is to create music that can remain simply, while having many layers and really appealing to listeners with tons of personality and character.

With their recent release, Our Lady of Perpetual Frustration, Lucille Furs set out to accomplish just that. The talented psychedelic rock combo set out to fill up their music with strong doses of personality and character, going for a very intimate, yet deeply textural tones.
The sounds featured on this song are really well-calibrated and tastefully produced, reminding me of the work of artists such as The Kinks, Tame Impala, and The Beatles, only to mention but a few.

This song has a really charming 60s tone, and it feels like a wave crushing on the sand: its energy is unstoppable, yet there are many subtle layers to it, such as the depth of the currents below and the white foam above…all elements that add a lot of color and personality to the song.

Die Blonde release hazy new compelling single ‘L.A. and Nashville’

https://youtu.be/E9QIUWVb-lg

L.A. and Nashville are arguably two of the most important cities in the United States to the music industry.

Los Angeles is home to a kaleidoscopic music scene under the California sun, with a particular emphasis on rock music. Nashville is known for its country music scene and references to timeless Americana.

Die Blonde set out to combine these two musical philosophies and bridge the gaps between alternative rock and folk with their new compelling single, “L.A. and Nashville”. This song defies genre definitions and blurs the lines between the usual cliches, going for something edgy and refreshingly unpredictable.

The song immediately kicks off with some warm and bright acoustic guitar and an engaging stomping groove. The vocal harmonies are laden with beautiful reverb effects, going for a cool 60s feel – Think Mumford and Sons jamming with Tame Impala!

On “L.A. and Nashville”, Die Blonde set out to create a hazy and dreamy production aesthetic with psychedelic overtone. Their ability to create memorable melodies and poignant lyrics seamlessly blends in with their tasteful production value, making for a very organic and personal sound.

A&R Factory Present: Jay Pray

https://youtu.be/qE_Ev6TfOws

Today Connecticut’s Jay Pray reveals the gripping, moody, lovelorn official video for fan favorite I’d Go Anywhere (Do Anything), which premiered with Northern Transmissions. The Wild Honey Pie also debuted the full album stream earlier this week, offering fans an early glimpse into Jay Pray’s repertoire.

Justin Romanos learned how to make music growing up in rural Connecticut, both by playing and by recording in his own makeshift home studio. During college at Drexel University’s Music Industry Program, he found a home with likeminded peers, and gained the nickname, “J Pré.” He honed his craft by continuously writing, and spent much of his time in the close knit Philadelphia basement community, where he fronted the indie rock band SHMNS. After graduating college in 2014, he moved back to Woodbury, CT to regroup, refocus, and reinvent himself as a musician. He spent the last two years writing and recording songs for this album as well as many, many others that may never see the light of day.

A&R Factory Present: The Band Royale

The Band Royale was born out of love for big guitar riffs, an appreciation for the finer things, and a mutual obsession with science fiction. And they are able to sneak these things into their sound without scaring off the opposite sex.

Brothers Joel, Nate, and Zach Bauman grew up in the working-class town of Kalamazoo, MI, each with an immediate passion for music (passed down from their parents — their mother, a music teacher and their father, a school principal). At an early age, their shared obsessions with music, sports, and culture made the pursuit of playing in a band together an obvious choice. Once they moved to Chicago, they teamed up with Louisville, KY native Marc Najjar (also with a strong Music Education background and a love of heavy riffs and sports) to make the heaviest music they could that would inspire some serious baby-making.

A&R Factory Present: B O K E H

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, raised in Wellington, New Zealand, Chloë Lewer grew up too shy to ever sing in front of anyone. Instead, she spent her childhood and university years working as an actress. At age 21, she met a filmmaker who persuaded her to start a ukulele busking adventure with him in Berlin, which quickly developed into a touring band called ‘Charity Children’ with two albums under their sleeves over five years.

As the relationship turned to friendship and the band went into hiatus, Chloë sought new artistic endeavours. Teaming up with Dutch writer/producer Wouter Rentema, also the drummer of ‘Charity Children’, the pair spent the Summer of 2016 locked inside various studios about the German capital and recording synths in a disused chapel in The Netherlands, developing what would become Chloë’s artistic alter-ego: B O K E H.

‘Don’t Leave The Fire’ feels like the diary no one was ever meant to find. The highs and lows of life and love lost are explored over a six track EP, in what is clearly a very personal musical letter. Intimate, sincere vocals, charged by an epic Electropop production with obvious 80s influences, expose B O K E H’s world and all the colourful, beautiful and painful spots of her imaginarie.

‘I Know You Know’, the first single from the EP, is scheduled for release Feb 17th, 2017.

A&R Factory Present: Ruby Empress

Having already amassed 500K plays on Soundcloud, Ruby Empress, with their brand of Scandinavian indie pop, are clearly building up quite the following.

Ahead of the release of the band’s 6-track EP Empressionism out later this week, Ruby Empress have treated fans to a piece of synth pop perfection with their latest offering; Escapism Deluxe.

The track boasts a truly bountiful production. Piecing together elements of electronica, synth and pop behind a thumping baseline probably sounds like a lot all happening at once, but Tom Serner’s light vocals work brilliantly against the amalgamation of sounds.

The song kicks off bubbling under the surface to only then erupt into full-blown euphoria. It may feel like you’re being transported to another world, but you want to stick around to see where else this song can take you.

In the past few years Sweden has really been at the forefront of producing excellently crafted pop songs and stars. With the likes of Tove Lo and Zara Larsson already establishing themselves as ones to watch, Ruby Empress can now be added to the list of Scandinavian acts showing the rest of the world how to do pop properly.

A&R Factory Present: Magic City Hippies

Tarantino trip-hop meets dusty, rock-and-roll-infused, post-apocalyptic R&B in the Magic City Hippies’ new make-up-sex-inspired jam, ‘HUSH.’ Ethereal guitars glide alongside smoky vocal game-spitting and whistling soul organ, all grounded in the heavy booms, baps, snaps, and bouncing 808s of a Timbaland-style banger. But make no mistake, the rock knob was not twisted gently during the torrent of feedback and buzzsaw guitar riffage that rounds out the tune before it disintegrates into the fattest future-funk you’ve heard all week.

‘HUSH’ is the Hippies’ first release in the wake of their Spotify Viral 50-topping track ’Fanfare’, which has collected over 1.7 million streams since it was released as a part of the Hippie Castle EP back in July 2015. All of this follows up a streak of Hype Machine-ranking tracks from their back catalog under former name Robby Hunter Band in 2013, from which songs have recently resurfaced on network TV shows like The CW’s iZombie and Showtime’s Ray Donovan.

Having just returned from their first regional US tour, the self-proclaimed “indie funk” trio is planning on stepping out of Miami for more pending tour dates while wrapping up their second full-length for release this summer.
