Alt Hip Hop artist Skvwalker teases what’s to come on his upcoming LP with the standout single “Time Again”

If it’s been a while since a feat of Hip Hop made your jaw drop, hit play on up and coming Hip Hop artist Skvwalker’s single Time Again featuring Isnotcynical produced by Olivier Bassil & Brian Shiel.

Skvwalker promised to deliver ‘not your average Hip Hop beat’ with Time Again, he definitely didn’t disappoint. EDM, Pop and Hip Hop all converge in the high-vibe euphorically-produced mix which packs in some insanely unpredictable progressions.

Each element of Time Again is flawless, but it’s the rapid changes in the rap bars will leave your heart in your throat. It wasn’t just the beats which transfixingly built up, but the vocals too. If the bars ran any faster they would have been supersonic.

There may have been plenty of fresh new Summer Hip Hop drops this year, but Quali-T made sure that his stood out from the rest by looking outside of monocultural Hip Hop for rhythmic inspiration. With jazzy and Eastern vibes weaving between the Trap beats, Déjà Vu is practically hypnotic instrumentally. When it comes to the Rap bars, Quali-T stamps them down with captivating authority.

Josie Valrhona is a rare kind of artist, she puts inspiring lyricism and infectious positive energy the essence of her tracks. She doesn’t invite her listeners to what she has to say, instead, she invites you to find herself in her music.

The Russian-born, US-based artist’s latest single “Josie” is the best introduction to her style. She lets you know just who is behind the high vibe soundscape you’re listening to.

When listening to her Rap bars you feel the fire, you can feel the empowerment which spills from her unapologetically sex-positive verses. Yet, despite the level of attitude, you can’t help but warm to the artist. That may have a lot to do with the warm exotic beats.

KidSeb serves up hazy summer vibes in their latest release “Re: Growth EP”

If you’re looking to soak up some hazy smooth summer vibes, there’s a potent serving in up and coming South Auckland-based Hip Hop artist KidSeb’s latest release “Re: Growth EP”.

The EP kicks off with a dreamy Jazz and Blues-infused Ambient feat of Hip Hop which may be instrumentally hypnotic, but KidSeb’s commanding bars make sure that your attention never falters from the sunny tones and the catchy melodic hooks.

From there on out, you’ll be immersed in East Coast-influenced mixes which any fans of Jay Z, Kanye, Drake, Dre, and Kendrick Lamar will definitely appreciate. But that’s not to say there isn’t plenty of distinction in KidSeb’s EP.

Each track is as dynamic and immersive as the last and demands repeat attention. The tracks may be on the ambient side, but each one offers infectious high vibes.

If you’re looking to freshen up your Summer Hip Hop playlists, up and coming artist Yfk Flash’s debut single Stay True will make for a sunny melodic addition.

To create the rhythmically arrestive feat of Indie RnB Hip Hop, Yfk Flash teamed up with Troy Ave who lent their magnetic vocal cords and Larrysac who took care of the flawless radio-ready production. Stay True may deliver a simple message, but the short and sweet mid-tempo hit’s good vibes are all too infectious.

With a killer melody and lyrics which hit like a tonne of bricks, there’s no room to wonder why plenty of Hip Hop fans have jumped on the fresh new drop “No Friends” by breaking Rap artist Caspa.

The Bahamas-based artist used their energetic lyrical prowess and candid conviction to share with the airwaves a mix which makes no bones about saying that standing on your own two feet is one of the most liberating things you can do.

Traditionally, loners have been looked at as outcasts, but have you met people? As Bukowski said, “beware of those who seek constantly seek crowds, they’re nothing alone”. Caspa’s track is just as poignant, and there’s the added bonus that it’s a sun-soaked liberating earworm.
