Ohio Hip Hop artist Ro66 teases striking delivery on ”Street Clothes”

With a fast flow that is raw and heavy tops this is one rugged emcee. He keeps his ear to the street and is being very careful at the moment. He can spot who you are if you are street clothes and is keeping his eye out for any haters about there. He believes that he is on fire right now and isn’t stopping his grind.

Ro66 is from Hamilton in Ohio and he has had a tough ride growing up. Living in the hood has toughen him up and with that his stories are so vivid that he has lived each one. The vocals are so real and he impresses on this short track that is under two minutes.

Street Clothes” is a taste into the future of Ro66 and with his straight up lyrics and crazy beat. This is a good track. He has all the potential and now he needs to take the next step up in the game.

Aleeus storms in hard with strong video ”Geronimo” feat. Universal Joe

There comes a time when you get sick of talk and are just keen to show that you are grinding it the best way. While other cats talk and talk, you are getting it done.

The new single called ”Geronimo‘ from Aleeus feat. Universal Joe is taken off 2020’s ”Injured Reserve” which sounds like a great way to describe the year to me. From rapping since he was 13 and having his Dad help him put out his first single, Aleeus has been on a tear later with lots of new music and ever-improving rhymes.

This is heavy stuff from the Ohio rapper and he brings along Universal Joe for this one and the featured is well done too. They are busy building at the moment and stacking up all the opportunities while others just talk. 2020 is the year to reboot and change the way you do things. ”Geronimo” does that and this is a top Hop Hop song that is full of tight beats and lyrical ability.

Life is such a long ride and it can be years before you truly find yourself. A lot of the time people never do. You stay in your bubble and never move out of your town. You are stuck and never grow. Marc Frazier is a brand new artist in the scene and he raps about his faith proudly. For a new rapper his flow is quite good and it will only get better. ”Finding Myself” is all about knowing who you are and carrying your faith with you. Virginia Post Rock band Cursor claw their way in with ”Reaper”

Based out of Culpeper in Virginia, Cursor have made quite a name out of themselves in such a quick time frame. ”Reaper” is about being noticed and not being shoved out of the way. They are tired of outside influences and believe it’s their time to shine.

This is quite a new band and they have only been around since 2018. They have a tough grungy sound and are raw. With powerful vocals and a style that takes you up for a moment and then down again really fast. The riffs are heavy and prodigious, this band are really going for it and I bet are fantastic live.

With the newest EP out later on in 2020 this is a band that is coming out with a lot of music. Cursor put their foot on the gas and will not be blocked out by anyone. They should be a fixture on the festival circuit in 2021 with their fast and energetic style. ”Reaper” is a good track and I’m highly impressed by this US band and hope to see them live in the face soon.

North Carolina Rapper Avajor rips through with strong single ”Forever”

Most of us want to live forever and make sure that we are comfortable the whole time. Grinding hard is the only way. Being inspired by seeing others work hard is the only to stay at the top and not drop down. The Producer-emcee is from Winston Salem in North Carolina and was formally known as Jay Major. I quite like the new name and Avajor pulls out all the stops here with the heavy beat and straight up lyrics.

Sorry, I Was Distracted’‘ is the name of Avajor’s first album that has just dropped on Spotify and ”Forever” is one of the best songs off it. This has a Rick Ross type feel on it and is a major statement of intent. He wants the big time and is not letting go.

Avajor has done well here with the new single and he is a name to watch in the flooded US Hip Hop market. I’d like to see him work with other local artists and even a heavyweight so he can get more ears to his music. He is clearly talented and a new name to keep an eye out for in 2020.

London singer Rea can’t control her love on ”You”

You get the feeling deep in your bones and you just know it’s right. You feel like a teenager again and can’t stop thinking about them. Breathing properly can be hard sometimes and you pinch yourself. Is this actually real?

Rea is a quality singer from the UK and she effortlessly shows her emotions on ”You’‘. Formally from the Midlands, she is now based in buzzing London where she can stay close to all the best venues. Signed to Streets Music, I feel like we are witnessing a future star that is just getting started. Her voice is majestic and I can’t stop listening to her. The vocals are so clear and the love story is so relevant. The feeling of meeting someone that makes your heart flutter like a happy bird is a sight to behold.

Classically trained from a young age in piano, cello and clarinet, and vocals, this is one impressive resume. Add poetry to that list too. Influenced by Emeli Sandé and other artists in this genre, Rea strides through impressively to create her own lane in the music industry. This is a huge talent and her pop infused music is on full display with her scintillating performance on ”You”.

Arizona born Jon Davis impresses with the breakup anthem of 2020 ”Goodbye”

Some people are so ruthless with your heart. They treat you how they wish and are quick to end things to suit their own needs. There comes a time when you have to say enough is enough and cut the cord. You want to be happy and you feel like it’s the right time to be single again.

Jon Davis is a performer that has that extra special voice. He sings so purely and with absolute joy. The enjoyment levels are sky high and he has a soul vibe that can’t be taught. He just has it. I feel his uplifting music in my bones and just want to see him live and get a closer look. Coming from an acting and classical training background helps a lot as confidence is no problem. Jon doesn’t overdo it like some artists however. You can feel that he is humble and is on a mission to get his music heard all over the world.

Goodbye’‘ is in my opinion the breakup anthem of 2020. It’s been a strange year and we all just want it to end. Jon Davis strides through with confidence and to tell us all that no one is going to play him any further. With such soul and a funky beat, this is a top song that will certainly get radio and playlist love all over the globe. A full album is due for later on this year and it is already much-awaited.

Utah native Connor McCoy wants to stay young with folk-dripped ”Problem Children”

Currently staying in LA, Connor McCoy is an immensely talented singer-songwriter and producer. You can hear the quality in his voice and his guitar skills make my ears listen extra. This is good music with soul.

This song from late 2019 is all about how we want to stay young and not be old and boring. Being free is the best. Who wants to old anyway?

After a classical upbringing it’s no surprise that Connor can read and sing well. Really well. While in High School in Salt Lake City, Utah he then learnt how to play the piano. With new-age piano books lying around thanks to his Mom, he could fully immerse himself into music and really learn his passion.

I love the riff on here and the song is super upbeat. This is indie-folk at it’s finest with Connor’s strong voice that reminds me of Bon Iver. With some alt rock influences you can see why this artist is rising the ranks rather quickly.

The perky percussion on this single makes my foot tap with joy. A student of Music Production & Engineering program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Connor McCoy is a name to watch in the US folk scene. You can just feel it. The cream rises to the top, no matter what.
