Anni & John Lister taught a lesson in cinematic seduction in their jazz score, Man of Mystery

The art of seduction is stitched across the intricate tapestry of the latest cinematic jazz score from multi-instrumentalist and producer John Lister of Fingerman Studios and singer-songwriter, Anni. With Anni’s demurely siren-esque vocal lines narrating a tale of a Man of Mystery over the retro big band spy movie sound and the soft jazz stylings bringing decadence by the smorgasbord, the espionage-centric vignette will leave you hot under the collar and beyond.

If the producers for the next Bond film don’t enlist the superlative talents pertaining to Anni and Lister, who co-wrote the song together, they will have missed a lascivious trick. Heaven knows the franchise needs to redeem itself after Billie Eilish sang the last Bond theme.

Aiva – Gentleman: Soulfully Textured Jazz

There aren’t many emerging artists putting out music which could justify comparisons to Amy Winehouse. But with her latest single “Gentleman” Aiva has created a jazzy serving of Neo-Soul which spills plenty of tonally rich soulful catharsis. Despite the mesmerism which lingers in the instrumentals, Aiva’s vocals efficaciously dominate Gentleman. Right the way through, powerful but poised harmonies steal your attention from the intricate progressions of the bass and keys.

Gentleman may borrow a few archaic influences which are found in the stripped-bare downtempo melodious rhythms. Yet, Aiva was still able to orchestrate an indulgently demure single which offers plenty of contemporary resonance.

Timi Alexander releases highly emotional track ‘The Ballad of a Keg Heart’

The Ballad of a Keg Heart is a new single from artist Timi Alexander. This singer/songwriter has a nice edge to his music, with a sound that could instantly be described as classy, elegant and understated. The song immediately starts with a nice electric piano groove, going for a mellow vibe that flirts with soft jazz. Timi’s vocals hit soon after. Quite remarkably, Timi has an amazing vocal range that truly matches the width of his piano playing.

This track is highly emotional, showcasing the singer’s full spectrum of tones. His voice can be delicate and soft as needed, but also loud and present, depending on the moment. Inspired by the greatest pop and R&B singers of all times, this talented performer truly managed to capture a stunning performance on this song.

The way the beat kicks in after 3 minutes is truly stunning: when you though the song was not going to change from a piano/vocals arrangement, here is a whole new sonic depth, full of punchy grooves and instinctual vocals.
