MöTT unleashed a frenetic hard rock firestorm with ‘Best Is Yet to Come’

Colorado’s prodigal in every capacity son, MöTT (AKA Martin Epp), unleashed a frenetic hard rock firestorm with their latest single, Best Is Yet to Come. The singer-songwriter, producer and endlessly deft multi-instrumentalist teamed up with a band of rock legends in their own right, Phil X, Billy Sheehan, Jeff Scott Soho and Matt Star, to shake cynicism from the souls of everyone who kneels at the altar of rock.

With touches of Slash in the guitar work superseding the ferociously tumultuous installations of drunk n roll mayhem, it’s impossible to remain steadfast when confronted by the cultivated chaos which attests to MöTT’s ability to carve melodic hooks and catapult his cult following into the eyes of his sonic storm. If you want to hear the definition of hard rock guitar porn, hit play on the ferociously feel-good, timeless rock anthem.

Space out with the rock-licked soul in Church Burglars’ kaleidoscope of psychedelic shoegaze, Fairy Tale Ending

If you take your rock classically cut with a twist of spacey psychedelia, explore the riff-carved cosmos in the standout single, Fairy Tale Ending, from Church Burglars’ debut album, Subconsciously Conscious.

With soaring riffs as strident as the licks orchestrated by Slash’s fair hands fused with the soul-lavished euphonic sensibilities of the Flaming Lips and Pink Floyd, Fairy Tale Ending is a prog-rock meditation on the highs and lows of diehard romanticism. The endlessly caressing vocal lines which have more in common with the Shoegaze pioneers than your average rock outfit draw you right into the gravity of the bitter-sweet release, which stands as a testament to the LA-based outfit’s determination to make real music for real people.

After the founding members met at Berklee College of Music in Boston shortly before the COVID pandemic, frontman Mike Foltz used the international live music breather to travel to LA to record the debut LP independently with the exception of a few lead guitar parts laid down by Alec Grugel. With the full line-up finalised, Church Burglars are making waves in the live circuit; grab any opportunity to see them in an intimate setting before you have to join legions of fans filing into arenas to witness the virtuosity of Foltz.

Josh Who – Let Go: Seductively Smooth Alt Rock

If you could imagine what Velvet Revolver would sound like with a driving Indie Post Punk guitars, you’ll get a good idea of what is in store when you hit play on the latest single “Let Go” by breaking artist Josh Who.

Vocally, you’ll pick up on slight reminiscences to both Josh Homme and Alex Turner, but perceptibly Josh Who orchestrates his seductively smooth Rock hits with little mind to assimilation.

With the intensity of the single, you can tell the artist poured their blood, prodigal sweat and tears into it. Despite how polished, matured and nuanced the final product was.

I’m genuinely stoked that Josh Who ended up on our radar. Whatever it takes to transform a track into a hit, he’s got it. Wait until you hear the guitar solo. You’ll understand.

Zach Bair – Rutherford Drive: Soul-Steeped Americana Rock

Zach Bair’s standout single Rutherford Drive is a perfect example of what kind of alchemic energy can spill from the timeless combination of Rock and Soul.

The rhythmically accessible track doesn’t venture all too far from the realms of traditional Americana Rock. Yet, there’s plenty of authenticity to be found in the magnetic soundscape which any fans of Bruce Springsteen, Slash, Sting and Bon Jovi will definitely appreciate. And yes, the guitar solos are just as arrestive as what you’d expect from the aforementioned artists.

Zach Bair and his band possess the rare anthemic atmospheric edge which you’d definitely want to witness live if you got the chance. They’re definitely one to watch.
