Pack Your Bags: Salt Lake City’s Richard Tyler Epperson doesn’t let his valuable soul get compromised any further on ‘Tonight’ (Wicked Lies)

After releasing his much-respected third music project, the six-track ‘Another Day EP‘ recently, Richard Tyler Epperson returns from his seven year hiatus with ‘Tonight’ (Wicked Lies).

Richard Tyler Epperson is a thoughtful Salt Lake City, Utah-based indie pop singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, father and massive Star Wars fan.

After spending time with his young family and re-inventing himself over the past few years, his new home studio has given him a new lease on life to return to the music world.

“There’s a lot of rejection and doubt. But what if the dream could be a reality? The dream of being able to play music for a living and write music in the middle of the day–not at 1am when you’re exhausted and have to work the next morning. This is the well-written story about moving away from a sour relationship that has run its course, as you ask them to pack their bags and move away forever, so that you may reclaim your heart and be truly happy again.

He sings with a real sadness as something was off and he knew that this should of happened a long time ago, with someone who clearly was not compatible with him. Your heart beats faster as you recall when you broke up with someone in your life who you knew wasn’t right, but you kept on going anyway.

‘Tonight’ (Wicked Lies) from the Salt Lake City, Utah-based indie pop singer-songwriter Richard Tyler Epperson, shows us a sad story about how a break up can really change everything you thought was there in the first place. Performed with a window-like reflection as you thought there was something good there, this is a well-made break-up single about moving away from the bad energy, that can swallow your perspective forever if you let it.

Dandy artfully demands an end to ableism with her single, In Their Shoes.

The Anchoress recently spoke out in her article in the Guardian about the ableist nature of the music industry that has ostracised her from live music; a similar experience is shared by the Shropshire, UK-based artist, Dandy.

Driven by the determination to see fair representation and visibility of disabled artists in the mainstream music industry, Dandy recorded a demo of her debut album, The Cycle, in 2020. The standout single, In Their Shoes, attacks the injustices that consistently happen due to the fundamentally broken fabric of our society as the piano melodies that will score well with Nick Cave fans support Dandy’s beguilingly baroque vocals.

In Their Shoes has the power to leave you as sobered as a Ken Loach film, while the demure artful grace of Dandy draws you deeper into the reality for the disabled and chronically ill.

Don’t Hold On For Too Long: Chris Too Far needs to get away from that poisoned love on ‘Addicted’

With a wonderfully groovy start to proceedings, Chris Too Far is absolutely excellent on a track all about thinking about the completely wrong person you should be dreaming about on ‘Addicted‘.

Chris Too Far is an indie pop singer-songwriter based in the UK who brings us an added reggae-fusion energy on this fantastic new single.

”Started singing around the age of 14 when my sisters who were a musical duo at the time wanted some male backing vocals on one of their tracks. I released i wasn’t half bad at singing and that is when i caught the bug for it which progressed to writing and performing also.” ~ Chris Too Far

You feel the insightful message portrayed of somehow being connected to someone who you really shouldn’t be interested in but are, as they fill your head and distract you away from who you should be spending your time with. There is much to like here with the smartly-penned lyrics and sumptuously performed vocals, that has you in such an intimately reflective mood to ponder what you should do next.

”Addicted compares the feeling of falling hard in love with someone in a similar vein to someone becoming addicted to a drug. It uses metaphors that could apply to both scenarios. ‘Addicted‘ from the UK-based indie pop artist Chris Too Far, is a quality track all about thinking about someone so alluring but probably dangerous for your health. They are clearly bad for you but you have had a taste already and can’t get enough – your mind races like a formula one car when they are in your thoughts – and you know its not good for your health, but its exactly what you truly desire.

Sung with a real conviction and a head-groovy beat, this is a fine track that will definitely have you recalling that special soul who seems to have some sort of mystical power over you.

Cortney Hesse is an Austin, Texas-based indie RnB/soul artist, former cover band singer and audio engineering college graduate.

Influenced by artists like Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Santigold, M.I.A, Kid Cudi, she exudes class at every turn, as has a sensationally calm voice that has you rather compelled to turn her up.
