Rock band Cobrahawk return with the powerful ‘Heaven Help Me’

Cobrahawk return with the powerful ‘Heaven Help Me‘ and this is a terrific rock track with a edgy bounce to it. This is exactly the type of song to put on full volume and enjoy.

Cobrahawk is a professional rock & roll band known for their full-paced driving guitar riffs, super pounding drums, matched with raw, powerful vocal melodies. All started in 2013, with the band playing cover tunes under the name of Walking Talking Stephen Hawking. The name was changed to something more PR friendly, and the band began writing original music in 2014. From there, the rest if history really. After a name change, things have been going forward ever since.

You want to be a better person but sometimes have to do things that you don’t want to. Life is crazy right now in 2020 and you want it to all be okay.

With a name like Cobrahawk, you expect nothing less than a real rock tune on ‘Heaven Help Me‘. With such strong vocals, the lyrics are easy to hear and this makes the listening experience that much more enjoyable. This is a heavy track that will please a lot of old and now new fans too.

High school friends Ottoman Turks rolls the window down with ”Apathy”

Texas Blues Rock outfit Ottoman Turks are back with a road journey track of the highest order with ”Apathy” off State Fair Records.

This is a 4 piece, tell-your-neighbors and their cousins rock and roll family band from Dallas. They describe their music as outlaw country garage rock that certainly kicks the beer chugging into action. Drinking, dancing, rocking music is the main theme here with the American act. They guys have been a band since 2009 and after recording their first music in a bathroom. After a few changes the Granada Theater gig in Dallas during the summer of 2018 changed everything with label backing.

Inspired by legends Slow Moving Snakes, 40 Acre Mule, Pedigo’s Magic Pilsner, Vandoliers, this is a band that has so many fuses while they spiral it all together as they have some jazz in them too. I like how the band know what each other are going to do next.

Apathy” is a terrific track that keeps you interested throughout and the Texas band Ottoman Turks impress here.

Lex Ventura – Baroque And Roll At Its Finest

Imagine if Nick Cave cheered up and embraced latin beats or if Bing Crosby had embraced 60’s surf-pop, quite hard scenarios to picture that’s for sure but Lex Ventura is a hard artist to pin down. I Could Be is a song from another time, a smooth chanteuse delivery put to retro vibes, sailing close to pastiche but full of enough originality and lo-fi excellence that you would be hard pushed to tell if this is someone carrying the torch for those pre-pop times or just some long lost demos from an act which should have been a footnote in the annals history but who somehow missed their moment.

This is baroque and roll at its finest, Jacques Brel reanimated and relocated to the sunnier climes of the Californian coast, as strange as it is beguiling and seemingly so far removed from any modern sound that you are not sure if this is rose-tinted and nostalgia driven or, given the cyclical nature of music, a taste of things to come. But believe me somewhere there is a parallel universe where Lex Ventura is bigger than the Beatles.
