Lauren Tuchscherer shows how gravitas is brought to raw moody alt-indie RnB pop with her seminal single, Complicating

After garnering plenty of hype with her previous releases, the up-and-coming RnB alt-pop trailblazer, Lauren Tuchscherer, has released her seminally raw single ‘Complicating’.

The moody and barbed-soul-steeped track unravels as an indulgent juxtaposition for the way it feels so candid and vulnerable but still carries a slick and resounding production that effortlessly sets Lauren Tuchscherer apart from her contemporaries.

With a vocal style that sits somewhere between Lady Gaga and Eilish and lyrics that get to the core of dissonant frustration, there’s no evading the weight of Complicating. We can’t wait to hear what follows.

Lawsvn questions the complexity of affection in her debut RnB single, Have You Ever?

The Cleveland, Ohio-residing RnB songwriter and soulstress, Lawyvn, has made a feistily unforgettable debut with her single, Have You Ever?
As the lyrics question the complexity of affection, the beats groove through the mellifluous melodies that are all too easy to connect your rhythmic pulses to as the luminary newcomer makes the most out of her effortlessly rich vocal timbre.
Even though there are some notable hints of 90s RnB in the warm mix, this hit was definitively made for the 21st-century’s airwaves. With the high-quality production and the sheer artistry in the vocal harmonies, Lawsvn is one to watch. She deserves a coveted spot on every RnB fans’ radar.
Have You Ever? Is now available to stream on Spotify. And you can connect with Lawsvn via Instagram.

KANITHA has us gripped in her trauma-bond exploring indie alt-pop hit, VICES.

The San Diego-hailing Cambodian-American alt-pop artist KANITHA (Marjorie Huot) has released her most arrestive RnB pop single to date with VICES, which captures the people-pleasing and co-dependent tendencies that can form through trauma-bond-forming tumultuous relationships.

If you know, you know. If you don’t, VICES will open your eyes Clockwork Orange style to the type of trauma that emotional abuse can bury within us. The lyric, “he only likes me when I’m on my on my knees begging him to give a fuck about me”, is soberingly succinct; few lyrics have captured the nefarious nature of abusers so vividly.

We can’t wait to hear what KANITHA has in store with her upcoming EP; the depth of her emotional intelligence is enough to put most artists on the airwaves to shame. And that is without mentioning the evocative weight of her light vocal timbre against the chamber pop style RnB instrumentals. We’re officially infatuated.

VICES will officially release on March 11th, 2022. You can check it out for yourselves via Spotify.

Chris Paris – Confide: Meet Your New Favourite RnB Confidant

Bronx-born-and-raised RnB artist, Chris Paris, has been in the habit of pouring soul into his raw confessionals since his debut single release in 2021. In 2022, the artist that draws inspiration from the likes of Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Drake is back on demure form once again with his latest single, Confide.

By starting with the opening lyric, “I could always tell we were never on the same page”, you instantly relate to Paris and the universal struggle to find people on a similar wavelength. From there on out, you move through smooth RnB melodies and melodic hip hop beats that run under shimmering reverb and drink in Paris’ honeyed-in-spite-of-scorn vocal timbre.

Paris is everything that you’d want from a contemporary RnB artist; he brings a sharp slice of modernity to the genre through his candid lyrics, indie production style and fearlessness when it comes to stamping down his soulful signature.

Confide is now available to stream on all major platforms via this link.

Jaiy goes beyond the superficial in his latest RnB single, Prettyboyshit

We’d be seriously impressed if any other new RnB hit raised the temperature as high as Jaiy’s (Phillip Bradley Jr.) latest luxe single, Prettyboyshit.

The American RnB singer-songwriter found the perfect balance of salacity, soul and lavish excess in Prettyboyshit which smashes the archetypal RnB mould with its deep sub-bass, trappy 808s and straight from the soul, almost ethereally smooth, vocals. The Louisville, KY-hailing artist’s time spent contributing to the church choir evidently paid off with Prettyboyshit, and his equally as popular singles, Blame Game and Decisions.

Prettyboyshit is now available to stream and purchase on all major platforms via this link.

Patrice Hawthorne seeks to quieten frenetic minds with her single, Peace Once More

With the title of “Peace Once More”, the up and coming soul singer, Patrice Hawthorne’s latest single hits hard before you even hit play. Those three simple words allude to how hard-fought-for peace is in our slightly warped modern age, how urgent the search for it can feel and how sweet it is to find that evasive inner catharsis. That sweetness resonates in the timbre in the modern RnB production, which left plenty of room for experimentalism.

After the spoken word verse, energizingly uplifting harmonies and the reverb-laden sun-kissed melodies, you get a taste of the peace that we’ve all been striving for lately. Top tip, turn off the news and tune into the artists worth paying attention to.

In a time when people are more polarized than ever before, Patrice Hawthorne and her matured songwriting, dynamically powerful vocal range and artistic flair can be considered an essential artist. Get her on your radar. For your sanity’s sake not hers.

Peace Once More is now available to stream on Spotify.

Tai Mistyque continued her mission to embolden the RnB genre with her latest single, Toxic

Tai Mistyque is one of the very few RnB artists with the sound and emotional intelligence to cut it in this new progressive generation. Someone had to put an end to the heartbroken fawning and the loved up gloating, and you’d be hard-pressed finding someone that breaks the RnB mould with so much style.

Her latest fearlessly empathetic single, Toxic, is the perfect introduction to her emboldening MO that melds with her alt-pop, EDM & RnB fusionist sound. In each of her singles, she seeks to extend resonance to the ordinary women in pursuit of their dreams. That’s a refreshing change from the artists who make their debut in the determination to be rendered iconic. Tai Mistyque achieved that iconic status through her ability to humbly reflect humanistic proclivities through her deeply imploring vocal timbre that you won’t fail to connect to. We can’t wait to see her ascend the charts with her empowering edge and seemingly infinite reserve of aural magnetism.

Toxic is now available to stream on Spotify.

Sweden’s most seductive singer-songwriter, Syrran, gets intimate in her self-produced debut single, All of Tonight

Since debuting her sensual vibes in her first single, I mina lakan, in 2021, the Sweden-hailing singer-songwriter and producer, Syrran has attracted plenty of avid international fans with her velvet vocal timbre and equally as seductive beats.

Her latest RnB single, All of Tonight, is a flood of intimacy, passion and the kind of vulnerability that comes through giving yourself completely to someone. Lyrically, Syrran could be Anais Nin’s sweeter cousin. In every verse, you’ll find proof of the singer-songwriter’s ability to express affectionate emotion in matchless fashion. We can’t wait to hear what follows.

Syrran is now available to stream on all major platforms via this link.

Indigo Indiibabi lets her soul drive in her RnB single, Automatic

Up and coming RnB artist Indigo Indiibabi penned an old school serenade for her latest single, Automatic, which takes the unlikeliest romantic hallmark and allows it to become a vehicle for her affection for the person behind the wheel in their romance.

Old school and new school collide as the contemporary and atmospheric beats set a sultry atmosphere and Indigo Indiibabi’s gorgeously layered vocals bring the old school soul. Despite the mellow textures, there’s a panoramic feel to the dynamism that is laid out in this shamelessly impassioned release that wears its heart on its sleeve.
