Tai Mistyque continued her mission to embolden the RnB genre with her latest single, Toxic

Tai Mistyque is one of the very few RnB artists with the sound and emotional intelligence to cut it in this new progressive generation. Someone had to put an end to the heartbroken fawning and the loved up gloating, and you’d be hard-pressed finding someone that breaks the RnB mould with so much style.

Her latest fearlessly empathetic single, Toxic, is the perfect introduction to her emboldening MO that melds with her alt-pop, EDM & RnB fusionist sound. In each of her singles, she seeks to extend resonance to the ordinary women in pursuit of their dreams. That’s a refreshing change from the artists who make their debut in the determination to be rendered iconic. Tai Mistyque achieved that iconic status through her ability to humbly reflect humanistic proclivities through her deeply imploring vocal timbre that you won’t fail to connect to. We can’t wait to see her ascend the charts with her empowering edge and seemingly infinite reserve of aural magnetism.

Toxic is now available to stream on Spotify.

Bryana Arlette – More Life: Cathartically Intimate RnB Hip Hop

If you let one of the most evocatively hard-hitting hip hop songs that dropped in 2021 slip you by, we’re giving you a second chance to slip into the arrestingly raw single, More Life, by the Ohio-born, LA-based independent artist, Bryana Arlette.

Through her music, she shines a melodic light on the experiences that shaped her and sank her into a silent depression. Her vision as an artist is bed by the hope of connecting with fans that have lived through similar experiences or worse. As much as she deserves to be applauded based on her candid bravery, her sound is equally as breathtaking. Her composed and neo-classic spin on RnB-laced hip hop amplifies the emotion in the lyrics while simultaneously creating a cathartically intimate urban atmosphere. We can’t wait to hear what follows.

The world music sensation Nancita Kapi put us into motion with her standout single, Let’s Ride

Let’s Ride, taken from the sophomore album Chambre Froide/Black Ice, is a fiery introduction to the singer-songwriter Nancita Kapi. The breaking artist takes soul in her harmonic stride and makes world music resonate as even more global with her multilingual lyrics, pop melodies, afrobeat timbre and nuances of dancehall and RnB.

Her infectious energy, almost spiritually high vibes and sun-soaked beats are an indulgent affirmation that when cultures collide, beautiful things happen. After sharing stages with luminaries, such as YAO, Jamice, Jade, Carimi and Kavanda, we do not doubt that Nancita Kapi will celebrate plenty more highlights in her music career. For dopamine’s sake, get her on your radar.

Between the vulnerability, demure harmony and lyrical poetry, you just can’t help warm to Demi Jordanae’s vocal timbre. Save a space on your radar.

The queens of emboldening lyrical mantras, The LOOP, have released their latest alt-RnB single, ABOUT YOU

Boston’s most empowering alt-RnB duo, The LOOP, have released their latest single, ABOUT YOU. The track serves as the perfect introduction to the teen artist’s fiery approach to their sound that melds urban pop, hip hop and RnB with the catchy and conscious wit in their lyrics.

With invaluably introspective lyrical drops, such as “confidence is more than attitude” and “why try so hard to be something you’re not”, by the outro comes around, you’ll be left with emboldening mantras tattooed inside your mind.

It takes most people a lifetime to come to the same epiphanies that Marcia Bibbins and M’Zariah Starr share through their singles. At this point, we probably shouldn’t need to point out that they are ones to watch. Especially with their tendency to artfully stamp down their signature sound in each of their releases.

ABOUT YOU is now available to stream on Spotify.

HayeWire promises ‘Better Days’ in their heart-wrenching debut single.

Up and coming Mississippi artist, HayeWire, has released his optimism-inspiring debut single, Better Days. The debut infuses hip hop, pop and RnB into the minor key melodies that are striking enough to leave you arrested in the introspection that was laid out as a means of connection.

The single starts with a minimalist melody and harmonic pop vocals before the rap bars and beats fully kick in, which brings plenty of gravity of track that caught us utterly broadsided with its ability to convey so succinctly the nature of depression.

HayeWire’s sole focus is dealing with trauma and depression in his lyrics to remind his listeners that they aren’t alone in their individual struggle. Notably, he hit the mark with Better Days which unravels as a cocktail of multi-faceted emotion that reflects the tight grip of depression and how sweet it is to break free from it.

Better Days is easily one of the most promising debuts we have heard during 2021. We can’t wait to hear how HayeWire follows on from this compassionate hard-hitter.

LINN KRISTIN has released the most compassionately nuanced Christmas single you’ll hear this year with ‘Home’.

Home is the latest hauntingly soulful single from singer-songwriter LINN KRISTIN, which may be the most nuanced Christmas single to have ever hit the airwaves. Home was created in recognition of the grief and conflict that emerges at Christmas – despite what social media lets you see. It delivers the essential reminder that friends are just as important as family, and if they’re the people that keep you mentally afloat while your family send you under, that’s more ok,

The atmospheric verses allude to the detachment felt in the absence of the people that complete us, while the strident chorus crescendos complete with festive bells depict the sweeter than sweet feeling of finding your centre of gravity in someone.

The emotional intelligence in Home carries a profoundness rarely heard on the radio. Combined with the fact that LINN KRISTIN carries just as much poise and panache as Winehouse; we can’t help but get excited about what is in store for this empathetically stunning artist.

Home is now available to stream on Spotify.

Florida’s freshest alt-pop artist Shawnsosaucy made his debut with Forget About Ya.

New York-born, Florida-based artist Shawnsosaucy shared the Floridian sun with his international fanbase in his debut single, Forget About Ya.

His debut starts as a dreamy feat of tranquil pop before evolving into a high fire urban pop mash-up with harmonic rap bars, dancehall nuances, and endlessly ascending melodies. It may not be your archetypal love song, but this candid hit is all the better for it. As soon as you hit play, you’re instantly immersed in the uplifting rhythmic grooves and the lyricism that brings a brand-new meaning to the word candid. In this optimistic despite lovelorn track, Shawnsosaucy definitively wore his heart on his sleeve to ensure he made his way into the hearts of his ever-growing fan base. Charlotte Ooi delves into the unknown with her intimately sultry RnB single, Never Know

Charlotte Ooi proved how sultry bedroom pop always could be with her debut single, Never Know, which was released on December 3rd. If any artist warrants coining the genre ‘boudoir pop’ for, it is this London-based intimately evocative RnB pop artist.

Breathy vocals can be hit or miss, but Charlotte Ooi’s light vocal timbre is right on the money in her emotionally vulnerable release that delves into the unknown. In her own eloquent words, this is what Never Know lyrically encompasses:

“My new single shines on topics about vulnerability, hope and the essential need to embrace all types of emotions. I’ve personally struggled with a lot of anxiety moving a lot throughout my life and it has also become quite common in our society, so this song seeks an emotional intimacy with the audience.”

Spotlight Feature: Wally Hoak opens up in his dark pop hit, HARD FEELINGS

Dominican Republic-born, Brooklyn-based dark pop prodigy, Wally Hoak, has been garnering plenty of hype since making his debut in 2020. His most popular track to date, Complicated, has racked up over 33k streams since the release, and based on his latest single, HARD FEELINGS, it is unlikely that his career will stop gaining traction any time soon.

In HARD FEELINGS, raw emotion is projected into dark, thorny synth lines as reverb swirls around the 808s under Hoak’s emotionally sultry vocal timbre. Lyrically, it became the ultimate ‘don’t talk to me, I’m angry track’ as it alludes to the alienating emotions that sting at the surface in the wake of toxic relationship dynamics.

Hoak went so far beyond scratching around at surface level with HARD FEELINGS; he cut right to the marrow. Naturally, we can’t wait to hear the next confessional masterpiece.

HARD FEELINGS is now available to stream on Spotify.
