Meet Sage Ryn in the eye of a soul storm with her debut single, Sunday

With her debut single ‘Sunday,’ Memphis-born, Orlando-based Sage Ryn stepped into the R&B spotlight and outshone it as a conduit of vocal serenity. Sunday wraps the listener in a cocoon of dreamy atmospherics, where the magnetically hypnotic textures of the track build around Ryn’s silky-smooth vocal lines, crafting a lush sanctuary of sound.

The auditory embrace is a definitive statement of class wrapped in seraphically stylised soul. Sage Ryn’s sonic signature is a siren call to the weary, a sophisticated emblem cutting through the static of an oversaturated genre. As she scribes the start of what promises to be an enduring legacy, Sunday positions her not only as a standout artist but as a sculptor of new paradigms in R&B.

The track has already attracted a formidable audience, organically racking up 120,000 streams and earning accolades from industry titans like Timbaland, Bow Wow, and Ne-Yo. As Sage Ryn gears up for her next release, ‘PalmTree‘, due late November, the industry watches with bated breath. If ‘Sunday’ is the dawn of her career, the full daylight promises to elevate her status to new heights.

Sunday is now available to stream on all major platforms, including Spotify.

Trevon Lorenz – 7 Cities: A New Vanguard in RnB

Trevon Lorenz

Trevon Lorenz’s latest single, 7 Cities, revolutionises the RnB and hip-hop intersection with its sophisticated synthesis of soulful melodies and sharp hip-hop beats.

As the track unfolds, Lorenz lays down a dreamy, reverb-heavy soundscape that swells with lush, airy harmonies, showcasing his capability to blend genres with authority. It’s more than a stellar track, it’s a sign we’re arriving at a new epoch of genre fusion where the intensity of hip-hop can live harmoniously with the smooth soul of modern RnB.

7 Cities defies expectations within its brief runtime, especially with a middle eight that introduces an innovative twist, demonstrating Lorenz’s creative acumen. The track concludes with a flair of semi-lucid innovation, reminiscent of a distorted tape winding down, leaving listeners in a reflective trance.

Inspired by a diverse range of icons, from the fashion genius of Virgil Abloh and Yohji Yamamoto to musical pioneers like Kanye West and Pharrell Williams, Lorenz’s music is a testament to his dedication to pushing sonic boundaries.

7 Cities will hit the airwaves on September 27; pre-save the single on Spotify & Apple Music via this link.

Ozzie Aguilera channelled their natural sultry beguile into the dream pop fantasy of a resilience-advocating single, You Can’t Give Up

The autonomy advocator Ozzie Aguilera is a sonic vision in their latest jazzy RnB dream-pop single, You Can’t Give Up. The single testifies to the strength that everyone who goes against the heteronormative mould has to muster to stand a chance in a world that claims to celebrate individuality before beating down anyone that shines a little brighter than the rest.

The powerfully demure single extends the ‘haters gonna hate’ conversation to serve as a reminder that there will always be times when you feel like giving in, but relenting to that entropy will never be your only option.

The Mexican American singer-songwriter, makeup artist and entrepreneur may claim to strive for emotional expression over perfection; in my view, they’re a faultless pioneer who always leaves us arrested by their ethereal grace and natural sultry beguile.

You Can’t Give Up was officially released on December 9th. Hear it on Spotify.

Annie Christina broke the RnB mould with her trippy dream hop exploration of soul in ‘Take Me Far Away’.

Beautiful Words Came To Form Havoc by Annie Christina

On November 8th, Montreal’s most luminary RnB soulstress, Annie Christina, launched her debut album, Beautiful Words Came to Form Havoc, on Bandcamp ahead of the official December 2021 release.

The lead track, Take Me Far Away, is a quiescently meditative soundscape that resonates like the calm after a storm. The Canadian singer-songwriter, producer and DJ has taken a structurally experimental approach to her music since her debut but it truly shines through in the ambience of Take Me Away, which falls away from the ABABCB structure and grooves through dreamy experimental progressions which tie in nuances of dream pop, trip-hop.

Take Me Far Away is now available to stream and purchase on Bandcamp.

Singer-songwriter and producer duo Maq and Yoko have made their ambiently Avant debut with Kaleidoscope.

Atlanta-based alt-folk singer-songwriter, Maq has made her debut with the experimentally blissful RnB track, Kaleidoscope. Her producer, Yoko, notably shared her vision of disrupting aural norms; by taking the majority of the focus away from the smoothly layered vocals, Kaleidoscope became a soundscape that you can’t help melting into.

We hope there’s plenty more soul-infused catharsis in the pipeline from this ambiently Avant singer-songwriter & producer duo who peruse art over perfection and narratives over hooks; they’re the ultimate indie power couple.

Kaleidoscope is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

Ludy doesn’t need no ‘Favors’

You can take the girl out of the Midwest, it seems, but you can’t take the Midwest out of the girl; what you can do, however, is mix that with the palm trees and art deco stucco of Miami Beach, and end up with a fiercely independent, upbeat and upfront sound and bold, bright production. Marrying smooth deep cuts jazz, stylish vocal harmonies, and old-skool beats and bassline, all backing Lucy’s silky smooth, vocals and fresh, feisty lyrics.

‘Favors’ is that perfect mix of souful, poppy, R&B with a little dash of hip hop and some smoky jazz-club cool, all married to some seriously stylish, glamourous visuals. It’s a perfect cocktail – cool, smooth, and over way too soon.

Check out Ludy on YouTube and Instagram.
