RnB Debut

Chantelle made a sensuously stoic debut with her RnB Pop hit, It Is What It Is

Chantelle’s sensually stoic debut single ‘It Is What It Is‘ introduces us to what might just be the next breakthrough artist in RnB pop. Her uniquely commanding ability to draw listeners into her lyrical world is evident in this first release. As the melody unfolds, Chantelle ensures that we are not just spectators but active participants in her sonic sojourn by leaving us tantalised by the warm glow of her soulful vocal lines.

‘It Is What It Is’ acts as the antithesis of your average love song, engaging listeners with its assertive acceptance of a promising relationship turned disappointing. The influence of 90s RnB shines through in the playfully exuberant touches to her vocal performance; if you couldn’t get enough of TLC’s No Scrubs, you’ll find this release equally as hard to quit.

This Nigerian, UK-born and based artist brings a rich background in music, performance, and production from the University of Kent to the industry, combined with hands-on experience in photography, videography, and content creation. Her multifaceted expertise enriches her music, making each song not just a track but a comprehensive artistic expression.

With ‘It Is What It Is’, Chantelle not only sets the stage for her burgeoning career but also promises that wherever she takes us next, it will be worth the journey.

It Is What It Is was officially released on April 5th; stream the single on Spotify.

BEX made a divine debut with her soulfully meditative single, COME THRU

https://youtu.be/r-kgMelRc7U https://linktr.ee/bexfye

BEX (AKA Rebecca Lynn Giralde) started a new meditative revolution in soul with her debut single, COME THRU. Beyond the soulfully honeyed and beckoning vocal lines that tempt an amorous spark to ignite lingers her spiritual sense of self, which also manifests in her work as a yoga and reiki practitioner.

There’s a seductive sense of ease that drifts through every facet of the ambiently electrifying soundscape that reaches the pinnacle of sensuous for its warm tones and supple textures. If it has been a while since you had your soul melodically stirred, don’t hesitate to hit play on the cathartically strong debut.

When the Coral Springs-born, Brooklyn-raised American Afro-Latina singer isn’t in the studio, she’s radiating the same beauty that brings her music to visceral life as a professional model. She’s featured in worldwide beauty campaigns for major brands, including Clinique, and has been the face of a multitude of ad campaigns. Whatever she decides to turn her talents to next, it’s going to be literally or figuratively picture-perfect.

The official music video for BEX’s single, COME THRU, premiered on August 18th; stream it on YouTube.

Deandre Sevon reached the pinnacle of sensuality with his innovative take on RnB in Does That Feel Good

It was about time a new wave of RnB crashed in; it came as a courtesy of the diaphanously artful debut single, Does That Feel Good, from the luminary Miami-based singer-songwriter and producer, Deandre Sevon, who honed his silkily honeyed vocal lines on Broadway.

With experimental electronica motifs that wouldn’t be out of place in an ELO record weaved into the ambiently exhilarant single that features sensuously reverb-swathed synths and vox that put the soul in romantic uncertainty, Sevon became one of the promising conduits of soul in 2023.

Around the delicate keys and lush synths are moody tones which reflect the weight of what is at stake in the sweetest ‘win you back’ record, allowing Does That Feel Good to resonate as an emotionally matured and well-rounded masterpiece of vulnerability.

Deandre Sevon clearly has a bright career ahead of him. We can’t wait to hear what is lingering in the pipeline from the artist who has exactly what it takes to smash through the monotonous mould many RnB artists are too afraid to break through and sonically step into their own.

Does That Feel Good was officially released on June 9th. Hear it on Spotify.

Zae Aio has taken control of the sands of time with her ethereal indie RnB debut, Don’t Waste My Time

Zae Aio

For her debut release, Don’t Waste My Time, the up-and-coming soulstress, Zae Aio, created a dreamy RnB odyssey, which starts with a slow and mellow indie pop pre-chorus to emanate accommodating 90s nostalgia before amplifying the atmosphere with Prince-esque soaring guitars.

The sublimely textural release is a testament to the originality of Zae, who has always struggled to find her place and feel assured in her identity due to her multicultural roots stemming from Côte d’Ivoire and Norway and growing up in Oslo. Though, clearly, she’s right at home on the airways with her arcanely honeyed vocal lines and the ease with which she lays it all down on the expressive line.

Don’t Waste My Time is a devilishly delicious debut, which is all too efficacious in proving Zae has exactly what it takes to have dominion over the RnB genre.

Don’t Waste My Time will hit the airwaves on June 9th. Check it out on all major platforms via this link.

Charlotte Ooi delves into the unknown with her intimately sultry RnB single, Never Know

Charlotte Ooi proved how sultry bedroom pop always could be with her debut single, Never Know, which was released on December 3rd. If any artist warrants coining the genre ‘boudoir pop’ for, it is this London-based intimately evocative RnB pop artist.

Breathy vocals can be hit or miss, but Charlotte Ooi’s light vocal timbre is right on the money in her emotionally vulnerable release that delves into the unknown. In her own eloquent words, this is what Never Know lyrically encompasses:

“My new single shines on topics about vulnerability, hope and the essential need to embrace all types of emotions. I’ve personally struggled with a lot of anxiety moving a lot throughout my life and it has also become quite common in our society, so this song seeks an emotional intimacy with the audience.”

RnB artist TODD has made his wavy trap pop debut with ‘Girl You Looking So Fly’

TODD

Up and coming alternative RnB artist TODD has made his debut with the release of his wavy trap pop track, Girl You Looking So Fly, which was originally composed as a poem to his girlfriend during lockdown.

After a trippy prelude of chords fed through tape delay echo, the vivid multi-layered mix kicks into full flow around steady trap beats and vocals which seamlessly switch between deadpan cool and RnB crooning.

The vocal samples slightly over-busy the mix; aside from that, Girl You Looking So Fly is a stellar indie RnB debut in every conceivable way.

Girl You Looking So Fly will be officially released on October 8th 2021.
