Interview: Plainview’s Money Mike Sandberg shows us into the Reflection

We had the chance to sit down recently with Money Mike Sandberg and he guides us through his busy life in Plainview, New York. Showing love for his family, Eminem and more, we get further insight into his career.

Q: Please let us know where you’re based today and what a typical day in your life looks like for you.

A: I am based out of Plainview, New York. I am a special education teacher who works in Brooklyn. I teach technology this school year, and I incorporate reading and math skills into my instruction using various programs.

Q: Your flow is honest and drops some genuine lyrics about changing perspectives. Where/when did it all start in the music game for you?

A: I really appreciate the feedback. I get my inspiration from artists like Eminem, Logic, and NF. Their lyricism, cadences, and rhyme schemes have influenced my craft to become a better writer.

However, I give credit to my family for their support every day. I dedicate my successes to my mother Debra, father Jon, and brothers Robert and David who have helped develop me into the person I am today.

Q: Please tell us more about your previous release and if you have new music on the cards in 2023.

A: My previous music release of “Reflection” in 2021, is about grabbing control of your environment through reflection. The message of the album is a call to branch out from societal norms and to take more time for reflection in order to discover and grow together as a society.

Q: What’s it like being an indie music artist in this industry?

A: It’s difficult to be visible in the music industry as an indie artist. However, by being true to myself through my music, I hope to get music opportunities in the future.

Q: Which local underground venues should we check out when in your local area?

A: I haven’t been involved in the local underground scene recently, as I’ve been trying to develop my own music.

Q: How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard a song before?

A: My music speaks for itself. It represents my character and humility. Everything I express is what I hold true to my heart.

Q: Finally, what hopes do you have for the future of humanity?

A: Wow, that is a loaded question. To begin answering that question, you can refer to my “Reflection” album. This will start the conversation.

Pure Class: Portland fingerstyle guitarist John Evergon shows us into the ‘Reflection’ (Mulan cover)

Written and produced by Matthew Wilder and David Zippel for the soundtrack of Disney’s 1998 animated film Mulan, John Evergon reminds us of the song that become extra famous due to the incredible talents of Christina Aguilera with his own version of ‘Reflection‘ (Mulan cover).

John Evergon is a Portland, Oregon-based indie fingerstyle guitarist who fuses in jazz, blues, and rock, through the lens of the wholehearted love he has for his hometown and its beautiful landscape.

With some much-needed class attached and taken off his latest six-piece EP called ‘Silver Lining Sound Waves’, Steve Nicosia brings us some stunning beauty to calm all of the gushing waters of doubt in our churning stomachs with ‘Forever Endeavour‘.

Steve Nicosia is a brilliant Toronto, Canada-based classical multi-instrumentalist, who makes majestic music that has so much feeling wrapped inside and that true rare care woven throughout this experience, which has you in a different world that is away from the madness and confusion.

After the beautiful single ‘Reflection‘, this is an artist that has returned to bring us more stunning soundscapes that is so pure and made with such meaning attached.

This superb creation has so much terrific intricacies attached, it seeps into your mind and doesn’t seem to let go as you feel a different power latching onto you. This underrated performer has a knack for making cinematic creations that certainly dazzles the mind and puts you in a position to succeed.

Bringing Beauty Again: Canada’s Steve Nicosia sends us a heartfelt ‘Reflection’ to immerse inside

Taken off his five-track EP from 2020 called ‘Retrospective‘, Steve Nicosia gives us a picture of his ‘Reflection‘ on this soulful track, that will have you feeling thoughtful about where your life is headed.

Steve Nicosia is a Canadian instrumentalist who likes to make music that means something deeper than most, as he filters out the noise of the world to create something meaningful and authentic.

The layers are made with such care and love, each verse swims into each other like a crystal clear river that shimmers into the sunlight. This is the perfect song to mellow your heart with, as you glide into the night with no worries in the world.

”Save Me” from Dane Blake (feat. Marcello) is a call for forgiveness

There comes a time when sometimes you reach the point of no return. Your soul is hurt and you have just had enough. Too many nights spent at the club or local bar can take it’s toll. We all need to refresh before it all escalates.

This is a roller coaster of a song and it’s well executed by this singer-songwriter from the USA who has just put out a call for help. Can he forgive himself and move on?

Questioning all of his beliefs, the determined talent that is Dane Blake takes us into his tortured mind with ”Save Me”. He is desperately losing control and really needs help as his soul is burning. A man who sings to us about losing his way, a moment that none of us want to deal with but fear that we unfortunately will. Dane roars his way through the song and the the beat is slow and steady, building all the time as to let us know that this is going to be a passionate track. Thus it is. I feel like swaying by body around and my mood is reflective and thinking of the past, with mostly regret. Towards the end of the song I do feel hope and I guess that is what life is. Lots of ups and lots of downs.
