Asking for forgiveness: ‘Rose Colored Home’ by Nashville’s Streetlight Curfew is the story of redemption

Taken off their brand new full release called ‘Better Luck Next Year‘, this is a band that starts us off by teasing their electric guitar style that simmers like a hot cuppa coffee, and percolates so nicely into your ears. You get the feeling that this is going to be a top track, and this intuition is justified rather quickly. The passionate vocals are soon lifted high in the sky and we sit back, and enjoy the 5 Piece Nashville Punk-Rockers honesty as Streetlight Curfew swarm the airwaves, like hungry bees on ‘Rose Colored Home‘.

His vocals lift the mood and we are soon introduced to the second singer, they add a vibrant energy and you can’t help but like this Punk sound that reminds you of bands back in the 2000’s. They mesh together like a bunch of friends who love being together, they make music for the love, not the glamour and fame.

The sad regret is there in the song and the feeling of letting down someone close is firmly entrenched into the lyrics laid out before us. The band are humble, they show self-awareness and add a gritty edge to the track and you sway your body back and forth, remembering when you bought your first Blink 182 CD.

The Tennessee Punk Rockers Streetlight Curfew are in inspired form on ‘Rose Colored Home‘, this is their biggest track yet as fans are hungry for a return to more music like this, tired of the watered down Rap and cheesy Pop that dominates so many minds and ears.

The band are likable and they have shared a song about letting someone close to them down when they needed you most. After all, showing humility and asking for a second chance, is the step in the right direction to gain forgiveness.

New England band We Demand Parachutes rock through with punk steamed ‘Ketamine’

New England band We Demand Parachutes rock through with punk steamed new single called ‘Ketamine‘.

This New England’s emerging Indie-Rock band was started originally as a writing project, with one member deployed overseas with the United States Military, and the other two working in the live sound world. This group blends elements of alternative and “blink-182” era pop-punk with the emotional and incisive lyrics of front man Kevin McCord, drummer Ben Shumaker, and bassist/programmer Seth Richardson.

This is all about needing to have someone close to you to make sure that you are okay always. Life flips up and down so fast and the partying can get a bit much sometimes without that support.

We Demand Parachutes impress on the punk rockin’ single ‘Ketamine‘. This is a party-filled jam full of party stories and overdoses with a few hospital visits. The energy is swarming, the guitars full of focus and are ferociously driven to make this is a wild story. The vocals are punk-rock and the baselines will remind you of some of your favorite 90’s bands.

Leogang – Chance In Hell: A Moody, Rocky Fusion of Alt-Pop and Punk

https://open.spotify.com/artist/61Afm2K5FYw9SL5sab6kNY?si=hN2ynO1XSxWoskKGayYiXw

Leogang are an up and coming indie five-piece from North East London. ‘Chance In Hell’ is a moody, rocky fusion of alt-pop and punk, the verses bass-heavy with a rolling picked guitar part behind the vocals before the chorus kicks in, all angry distortion and power chords.

‘Is There A Chance’ comes from the forthcoming (self-produced and self-released) ‘Shots Are Coming’ EP and given their pre-lockdown gig calendar there’s no surprise that this sounds like a band playing live, hungry, energetic, the bass a funky, rolling number before the ‘Is there a chance’ breakdown at 2’09”; there’s a Kasabian feel to parts, but it sounds original, comfortable, and fresh all at once. It grooves, it rocks, and it’s got a great earworm hook on that mid-song breakdown before the band rock through to a slow final fade out.

‘Shots Are Coming’ is out now on all major streaming platforms, or you can find Leogang on Facebook and Instagram.

New Jersey Punk rockers Still Ghost return with awesome ‘Look Up’ (Official Lyric Video)

New Jersey band Still Ghost rock in with their awesome lyric video for ‘Look Up‘.

Still Ghost is a high energy rock outfit from central New Jersey who draw influences from late 90’s and early 00’s bands and capture our attention with powerful choruses, aggressive vocals, and catchy hooks.

Soon after parting ways from their previous project, My Lonely Heart, TJ Haefner and Dee DiMeola began writing songs together in the summer of 2018. Once their ideas came together, they brought their new music to drummer Ryan Venancio, who added to the energetic feel of their new music. After months of writing and debating on the name for their new project, the trio officially announced their new beginning in March of 2019 and began playing shows under the name Still Ghost. In late 2019, the band added bassist Liam McNicholas to the line up and this 4 piece band certainly have all the right ingredients to cook some electrifying music together.

This is about getting over those old feelings and being yourself now. You have been hurt and just want to look forward and not upwards. A rocking song with ferocious vocals and terrific bass lines that are so great to listen to.

Look Up‘ is the fab new track from Still Ghost as they rip in with this fantastic song that is high tempo and riffs perfectly.

da22 intrigue with debut single ‘callingallcars’

Here is an energetic single to greet our ears so nicely from da22 as they smash through on ‘callingallcars‘.

Inspired by a misheard lyric, da22 (Dead At Twenty Two) explores existentialism in modern youth. In 2020, friends Sebastian Quintero, Destin Johnson, Ryan Denis, and Christian Carcamo formed the American alternative group, marking its debut with the single ‘callingallcars‘- a look into different perspectives and misinterpreted situations. This is a punk rock song that hits all the heights here.

“While all four of us are obsessed with the immediate captivity of a really obvious pop hook, I have an affinity for everything to the left of that.” says da22’s frontman Quintero. “The intensity of distortion, the ambiguity of an indefinable tempo or melody; traits perfected by the likes of Brian Eno and Sigur Rós, are ones I greatly admire. The marriage of both notions has always intrigued me. I think ‘callingallcars’ is a testament to that, which is why we went with it first.”

callingallcars‘ is a fun song that certainly jumps the heart into speeding off into the night. The power and skill here musically from da22 is a marvel to lock our ears onto like a comfy pair of headphones.

Marsha Marsha Marsha’s rocking ‘Never’ is a story of that true love

Marsha Marsha Marsha are back with this terrific punk rock track called ‘Never‘.

Marsha Marsha Marsha is the solo Project of Derik Toy. Derik began his professional musician career in San Diego in California where he honed his skills playing just about anywhere he could.

From the surf inspired rock of Atlantic Records artist Dakoda Motor Co, or The Surfers with Kelly Slater and Peter King (Epic Records), to tearing up the club scene with the funky sounds of Polyester and the Funky Love Bomb, Derik held down the back end with precision. However, it was recording these bands, and working in the studios that Derik learned of his love for engineering and production.

Now a father of 4, and not interested in touring, Derik prefers the family life with his own studio. Derik writes and records along with various session musicians. He has released numerous tracks under different monikers, and continues to write and perform fun pop music with a rock edge with his latest band Marsha Marsha Marsha.

This is all about wanting that special one in your life and never letting go. Can this love story end well or will it not?

Marsha Marsha Marsha bring us a fiery punk-rock song that kicks you into motion and your perspective is back. This is just quality music all the way. ‘Never‘ is a fine song from the Californian band.

Philadelphia Skate Punk Rockers Merit Maker drop in with ”Playing The Part”

https://soundcloud.com/merit-maker/lp_track5

Merit Maker is the music project of bassist and vocalist from Philadelphia’s Joe Stanton. All songs are original material written, composed and performed by Joe with the collaboration of other music artists from his town.

Playing The Part” is the rocking punk rock song that we used to listen to back in the 90’s. There is so much Blink 182 and Green Day mixed in here that is brought me back to those times. With such an impressive energy here, I absolutely love the vibe here. With flying vocals to unashamedly smashing drums, this is the track we needed to fly through the year.

Joe Stanton and his band Merit Maker impress with his fast and furious punk rock skating soundtrack. This is sweaty music for those who love and appreciate the genre. ”Playing The Part” is one of those tracks that you will want to play very loud this summer.

Petty Cassettes have cooked up a potent hit of angsty aural catharsis with their Indie Punk single “Lately”.

If it’s been a while since you found an Alt-Indie artist worth getting excited about, prepare to be elevated by Petty Cassettes’ feverishly exuberant fourth single “Lately”.

Lately kicks off with a humble Indie prelude before the soundscape takes a tremulous turn and evolves into a raucous feat of Punk. Admittedly, you won’t hear many other Punk tracks with solos as sweet as the ones you’ll find in this consistently exhilarating hit. That’s where the nuanced infusion of Rock worms its way into the anthemically-charged track and starts to dominate the soundscape.

What more could you possibly ask for from an Indie hit? As far as we’re considered, Petty Cassettes have offered it all with Lately. It’s the kind of track you hear once and make it a firm fixture on your playlists so you can get a repeat hit of the volatile aural catharsis and the captivating instrumental talent. I’m pretty sure I’ll never forget those Slash-style solos or the easily connectable jaded lyricism.
