Missing That Piece: Arklay finds what he was looking for on ‘Make Me Human’

Taken off the action-packed and deeply personal six-track EP ‘Frankenstein’s Monster‘ which is all about dealing with the tragic loss of his best friend and finding that long-awaited love, Arklay returns with the lead single called ‘Make Me Human‘.

Arklay is a creative twenty-three year old indie alt-rock singer-songwriter and producer, who makes that real music about things that have been holding him back for so long, as he opens the door to being content in life.

”After losing his best friend to suicide, he strives to make his inner turmoil and monstrous emotions into something special, something that will show the world who he really is.” – Arklay

This is a true story that shows how frustrated he was before, as the journey to finding that person who believed in him seemed hopeless at times. The road might of been winding and the exasperated feeling of not finding that human for you was definitely there — to show us that giving up is not an option — and you will find that person if you believe enough.

The heartfelt vocals are so honest and touch your soul deep inside, as the lyrics filter through your mind and has you in such a reflective mood. You close your eyes and imagine how lonely the path was, with the false imagination that you are not attractive, when actually you are.

Make Me Human‘ from Arklay, is that single that was born due to severe detachment from intimacy, as the feeling on not being with someone properly has inspired this new track. He has now got the feelings out now which were burning before, found love, is only looking upwards and will never look back to the past again.

Tom X Wolfe serves a smorgasbord of culture with ‘SUPADUPAFLY’.

Tom X Wolfe

Aural innovator and producer Tom X Wolfe’s 2021 album, ‘RISKY’, is an intoxicating mash of pulsing impassioned culture. It is also an exhibition of the artist’s multi-genre production and arrangement talent that has previously seen Wolfe working alongside Cash Sinatra, Maky Lavender and BGMFK. With over 3 million streams under his belt and plenty of international critical acclaim, Wolfe is set to take the industry by storm in 2021.

With African and Caribbean roots bedding down in the mix along with western notes of glitchy EDM hip hop, the lead track, ‘SUPADUPAFLY’, is the ultimate summer hip hop playlist staple. There is plenty of kick behind the 808s, but the snapping grooves feed into a sun-baked soundscape which throws plenty of jazz-laden haze your way.

Hizkit is a genre-bending alt hip hop producer/artist/creative designer hailing from the UK, who is known for being totally unique and often having a detached sense of lyricism, which allows our mind to be free and interpret his creations as we wish.

Jeff Goldsmith – ambient, narrative sounds with ‘Waiting Window’

Jeff Goldsmith is a composer, sound engineer, and producer based out of Minneapolis; ‘Waiting Window’ the first track from his forthcoming album ‘May You Find The Light Before The Devil Knows He’s Right’ – composed and recorded during the Covid-19 pandemic – is a dark, brooding, piece, semi-neo-classical, semi-industrial, and mainly instrumental. All based around field recordings and live samples from Minneapolis, it’s a mix of the avant-garde, elements of alt-rock mixing with a repeating piano motif, sampled ambient noises, and speech, all building slowly throughout the five-and-a-half minutes of the track. At times sounding like Phillip Glass or Mike Oldfield, others with dashes of the softer parts of Nine Inch Nails or Ministry, switching still to the Orb or Ozric Tentacles. It’s an entrancing, evocative mix of alternative, dark ambient, and auditory narrative soundscape.

Tranquil Peace: King Zausage is effortlessly excellent on ‘Near Bonix’

As the peaceful soundscape unravels before your willing earlobes to send a sensation that is supremely exciting, King Zausage kindly filters out all of the noise for us, with the exhilarating new single that will have you in a cat-nap type of mood with ‘Near Bonix‘.

King Zausage is a multi-talented and deep-thinking Hong Kong experimental electronica producer, music journalist, composer, guitarist, tour manager, PhD researcher in theology, rock music and spirituality, at the University of Birmingham.

He makes that deep type of soundscape that is rather rare as it has so much pure soul, as he started his career in this world of entertainment as the music show curator in a mountain of the 2012 Shan Zhai Music Festival. The bug soon bit and hasn’t left him since — instead of taking the bite out of his veins — he has instead only forged onto greater heights and might be one of the most intriguing humans around.

You feel like you are in another planet here, each second feels like it has been carefully meshed into a story for us to hold onto, for our hearts to heal with.

Ibukun Araoye aka IBK, is a highly motivated Nigerian indie electronic/hip-hop musician/poet, musicology minor degree graduate and producer, who lathers in his love for music from when he was very little, to his passion of having his music played all over the world now, to inspire others through their troubles.

Justin Adijanto – ‘Ctrl Alt Delete’ featuring Jessica Gelinas and Voel

Justin Adijanto, Jessica Gelinas and Voel’s latest collaborative 3-track single, ‘Ctrl Alt Delete’, practically lays out the welcome mat to make you feel right at home in the immersive indie RnB pop release.

The radio-ready singles, produced by Jakarta-born producer Justin Adijanto, ooze contemporary appeal by toying with moody and muddy tones and nestling shimmering synths in between. With the RnB infusion manifesting through Jessica and Voel’s vocals and instrumentally through the funk-laden grooves, the potency of the soul parallels the infectiousness of the melodies. The standout track has to be, ‘Crazy’; a highly relatable admission of the mania that comes to the surface when it comes to romantic disparity.

Bad Wolf peeks behind closed doors in his latest nu-disco single, ‘Curfew at the Disco’

While plenty of us sulked about the inaccessibility of dancefloors and lack of like-minded community, Philippines-based artist and producer Bad Wolf imagined what went on behind closed doors while creating his latest melodically tropic single, Curfew at the Disco.

After the release of his debut single, If I Can Make You Dance, in January 2021, he was scouted by MojoHeadz Records and inspired to release at least ten new singles in 2021. Based on Curfew at the Disco, we can expect plenty more soul-oozing DAW-created grooves from the artist who is quickly becoming renowned for painting with metropolitan strokes and with kaleidoscopically urban colour.

Curfew at the Disco unravels as a mix of euphoria-evoking nu-disco and roots deep techno that allows Bad Wolf to invite you into his imagination where you can explore the intimacy of the house parties which happened while dancefloors and venues gathered dust. The air of hedonist rebellion runs right through Curfew at the Disco, right next to the influence from indie dance and 80s Japanese City pop.

Curfew at the Disco officially released on May 3rd; you can check it out for yourselves via SoundCloud. Connect with Bad Wolf via Instagram.
