The Acme Corporation present their sublime musical take on T. S. Eliot’s He Do the Police in Different Voices.

He Do the Police in Different Voices by Stephen Nunns

‘He Do the Police in Different Voices’ is the stellar album-musical adapted from T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land by composer, theatre director and co-founder of the Acme Corporation, Stephen Nunns.

For those previously unacquainted with Eliot’s iconic ground-breaking work, He Do the Police in Different voices explores T. S. Eliot’s rocky relationship with his wife, Vivian.

The jazzy noir pop single, A Handful of Dust, brings Eliot’s fiery account of frustrated passion to life with the finesse that you’d expect from an accolade-decorated Broadway director. O’Malley Steuerman’s sultry vocal timbre holds no prisoner while resonating through perfect pitch over the instrumental arrangement where synths, electric sitar, and lap steel notes bring a gritty atmosphere synonymous with the beat generation. Ironically, Nunns emanated the air that Eliot was always considered too grandiose for.

He Do the Police in Different Voices is now available to stream and purchase via Bandcamp.

Lorenz System has released his ambiently absorbing electronica debut EP, Sonne.

The highly accoladed artist and electronic composer Nathan Maurice has started his new project under the moniker Lorenz System. His latest release is the 4-track EP Sonne, which delivers deconstructed downtempo EDM beats with ambient lo-fi hip hop kicks.

The perfect introduction to his ambiently absorbing electronica style is the lead track, Yobuko which starts by spilling choral guitar tones before the beat kicks in and carries you through the cathartically sun-kissed instrumental soundscape. The soul that emanates from the release is practically unparalleled in the realms of ambient electronica; vocals are surplus to requirement with the evocative pull of the melodies.

Tom Tom Park embraces authenticity in his single, ‘Adore Me’, featuring Disc Eyes.

For his latest feat of hyper disco-pop, Netherlands-based songwriter and producer Tom Tom Park teamed up with vocalist Disc Eyes to create a vibrant funk-riding hit that surpasses energetic and moves into the realms of mania – in the best possible way.

The dancey beats, dizzying synths and funky basslines are reminiscent of what you will find on Daft Punk and the Weeknd records. But Adore Me comes with an even deeper sense of soul which is where the influence from artists such as Donna Summer comes into play.

Given that Tom Tom Park has already received praise from one-half of the Scissor Sisters (Jake Shears), he scarcely needs our approval. Yet, notably, his boldly eccentric approach to disco deserves to be met with rapturous acclaim internationally; digging authenticity out of disco in 2021 is no easy feat.

Adore Me is now available to stream on Spotify.

Indie art-rock meets RnB in Cael Dadian’s latest single, ‘this sucks’.

23-year-old singer-songwriter and producer Cael Dadian has been gracing the airwaves with his alternative take on RnB since 2017. His most recent work, such as his standout single, this sucks, is a testament to how much he has honed in on his sonic and lyrical talent in recent years. Along with creating radio-ready singles, he has also produced scores for brands such as Facebook and MAC Cosmetics.

Dadian’s plaintively rich vocals, that will be a hit with fans of Hozier, Jack Johnson and Ray Lamontagne, draw you right into the heart of the alt-RnB single that pulls in nuances of indie and art-rock. Instead of using the same old melodies that we’ve been overfed since the 90s in this sucks, Dadian’s instrumentals are just as gripping and intricate as Thom Yorke’s. The tender neo-classic touch to the keys flawlessly demonstrate Dadian’s virtuosic command of melody, that is sure to see him go far in 2021 and beyond.

this sucks is now available to stream via Spotify.
