Up and coming rap artist, Jarred Allstar describes himself as ‘born in the hood & raised in the church’, the lead single, ‘Get Up’ from their latest album ‘The Gift and the Calling 2’ allows you to appreciate his gritty gospel-inspired soulful grooves.

To supercharge Get Up with celestial vibes, Jarred Allstar collaborated with M. Davina Boyd who brought a soulful duality to the single. With her old-school soul vocals layering over Jarred’s high-vibe rap bars, the energy which Get Up contains is infectious.

Plenty of rap artists boasts an energetic sound, but with only a dash of hyperbole, the NYC-hailing artist could raise the dead with their animated approach to contemporary hip hop.

Casablanca the Gawd attacks systematic inequality in their dilligently façade-less single ‘Animosity’

Ahead of the release of their highly-anticipated forthcoming album, ‘Soon Before Winter’, Buffalo, NY-hailing Hip Hop artist Casablanca the Gawd released their façade-less gritty Hip Hop single ‘Animosity’.

The harrow of systematic inequality profoundly hits as Casablanca runs through their bars which take the gloss off the gangster lifestyle which far too many artists attempt to glamourise. With each syllable delivered, you’ll hear the vehemence towards the state of the socio-political climate which consistently leaves people unable to rise up from under-privilege.

It’s impossible not to find respect for Casablanca the Gawd and their tendency not to mask the pain which inspires their tracks with grandiosity or aggression. The raw emotion may not be easy to swallow, but the last thing the airwaves needs is another superficial sugared pill.

You can check out the official video to Animosity which dropped on November 4th via YouTube.

Ecsentric has left another mark on Brooklyn’s map of Hip Hop artists with “Alibis”

As an up and coming Hip Hop artist in Brooklyn, NYC, Ecsentric has some serious competition, but his latest release “Alibis” makes it all too evident that he’s on the way to the top with his fresh new sound which vibes with plenty of old school elements.

Under the influence of J. Cole, Nas, Logic and Kendrick Lamar, Ecsentric’s sound boasts that shimmeringly alluring Jazzy tone, although the dreamy reverb in Alibis takes the production to new hypnotic heights. As for the lyrics, they’re candidly exposing enough to draw a tear from you as you lose yourself in the evocative narrative of loss and betrayal.

The instrumentals may be light and melodic in Alibis, but don’t be surprised if it leaves you with a few emotional bruises.

Shan – Ghost: Evocatively Dynamic Hip Hop

NYC-based Hip Hop artist T. Shan’s latest single “Ghost” is a track which instantly commands attention. From the first verse, you’re locked into the fluidity of the beats alongside the pure emotion which has been poured into the evocatively fresh mix.

The grind may be soft and smooth, but you’d be hard-pressed to find more arrestive rhythms from an up and coming Hip Hop artist. T. Shan has stamped down their signature reflective style once more with Ghost which infuses elements of RnB to amplify the sonorous edge to their sound which is sure to see them go far.

While Ghost is undeniably a track with plenty of contemporary appeal, they’ve also been incredibly mindful to make the mix accessible to fans of OS Hip Hop who appreciate pure unadulterated lyrical conviction.
