Put on Giancarlos Lopez’s latest cashmere smooth pop hit, Designer Clothes

If you want to slip into something comfortable, put on Giancarlos Lopez’s latest dreamy indie R&B pop hit, Designer Clothes. Far from an ode to capitalism, the cashmere smooth single is sweeter than honey for the way it undresses excess and celebrates the person beneath the wearable status symbols that become a façade.

The lo-fi bedroom pop feel to the release only serves to amplify the intimacy of the single that is dripping in romanticism instead of Gucci. If you don’t sonically fall head over heels for Giancarlos Lopez after hearing it, you may want to check your soul’s check engine light; his ability to create a hazy ethereal atmosphere with his vocal lines alone is second to none.

The independent Puerto Rico-born, Tampa-raised artist borrows plenty of inspiration from the Floridian culture before infusing it within soothingly nostalgic soundscapes that reminisce with the works of Mac Miller, Keshi, and Joji. If they are on your playlists, Designer Clothes should be too.

Designer Clothes hit the airwaves on the 28th of July; stream it on Spotify.

Get Your Romantic Flashback Fix with Oliver Sullivan’s Latest Summery Slice of Dance Pop, High Above, ft Jetason

Oliver Sullivan transcended high-vibe dance pop with this latest single, High Above, featuring Jetason, which was inexplicably crafted to place you on a plateau of pure sonic bliss.

With retro synthwave spliced into the progressive EDM pop hit, there’s an aural glimmering of nostalgia, allowing the single to whisk you back through the decades for a panoramic romantic flashback that will take the gloss off your old Polaroids.

High Above is the 6th single penned and released by the Swiss-born artist, who has perceptibly honed his craft to a Grammy-worthy degree. Ahead of the release, Sullivan had clocked up over 200,000 listeners on Spotify. Something tells us that with Jetason on his side, who flew from Nashville to Zurich to work on the mix, plenty more listeners are going to be tuning into his warm melodicism.

If Jetason’s soul-permeable harmonies sound familiar, that will be due to his previous work with other icons, including Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix. Together, they’re the epitome of a collaborative power duo.

High Above will be officially released on July 28th; stream it on Spotify.

Ethan Senger invokes romantic nostalgia with “One Night”

Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Ethan Senger left us enraptured and potentially a little infatuated with their piercingly evocative, melodically mellifluous debut self-titled EP.

In the standout single “One Night”, raw, unfiltered emotion lies under the smooth polished production before it tears through whenever Ethan Senger’s vibrato vocals come into play. He’d seriously give Eddie Vedder a run for his money while leaving fans of Paul Simon transfixed.

The alchemically reverb-drenched blend of Rock, Pop and Folk allows the soundscape to simultaneously exude authenticity along with accessibility. But One Night isn’t a track you simply ease into, it’s a track which takes full control of your emotions and compels your mind to scramble for romantic nostalgia.

Aistè – Say When: Nostalgic Hookish Pop

Aistè took me right back to the nineties with her latest single Say When, which was released July 11th, 2018. Through her latest single the London based up and coming Urban Pop artist channelled the same level of amplified sass as you heard with Destiny’s Childs inception. Yet, Aistè chose to keep the production of her track Lo-Fi and raw to allow her soulful vocal style to bleed through the mix. The beat is set on the foundation of vintage 808’s to provide that extra touch of nostalgia to her single around the personal resounding lyrics which won’t fail to resonate.

Unlike with most Pop inspired tracks, there is an infinite amount of progression, even the bridges to Say When don’t fall foul of repetition. The balance between digital and acoustic instruments is absolutely on point, the concordant clashing of heavy drum machines with licks of the sax is more than enough to make you want to keep coming back to Aistè’s sounds.
