Matte Juno returns with a vibrantly pleasurable new song that instills a thoughtful energy into your day on ‘Daytime Serenade‘.

Mathias Haukjem aka Matte Juno is a Norwegian singer-songwriter who is fairly new onto the music scene but is making a quietly impressive start to releasing his creations to the world.

Stitched neatly in a fantastic fusion of drum machines, poly synths and funky guitar and bass, this is the type of song you tell your friends about.

Taken off the recently released debut EP ‘Electric Fire’, this is a hauntingly real single full of an authentic energy, that passes in our ears piece by piece, lyric by lyric, to give us a warm embrace from this traumatic year of mostly sad solitude. Norwegian compassion is on full display here thanks to the new soulful singer-songwriter Gjermund Wien on ‘True Companion‘.

His voice lifts the mood as you get lost in the natural style that he possesses. A new musician to the scene, the freshness is so pleasant to see as he sings with such thoughtfulness. This is an artist who has been waiting for the right moment to send his music out to the world for manifestation, his humble artwork is vividly appreciated as you feel his true intentions which is to make music, that helps heal the wounded souls out there in the world.

The care that this musician has taken to move the audience is so cinematic and you feel like this is music that is perhaps ahead of its time. To truly comprehend its beauty, one needs to close their eyes and imagine floating in the sky, looking for that true love for your heart.

The Human Nature show us lots of colors and hope on ‘No Escape’

No Escape‘ is the vibrant new song from The Human Nature and the band from Norway don’t disappoint.

The Human Nature are a Norwegian band from the South East and their signature sound comprises a lot of synthesizers, heavy drums, vocal harmonies and a distorted Les Paul. They are such a creative band, they visualize so well and this is a marvel to listen to. I feel peaceful all inside and this is a fine song.

The search for love right now is so hard to find, you need to be with someone that is careful with your heart. You want someone that is kind and who champions your dreams and pushes you to reach them. Covid has made finding this love so difficult but it is possible.

The music of The Human Nature is infectious and sweet, you want to listen to this song again and again. I like how this song builds up and up, the energy is radiant and fresh. ‘No Escape‘ is a quality new single that speaks to our hearts.

Ask Carol swim in with the sunny ‘Do It in LA’

Ask Carol swim in with the sunny ‘Do It in LA‘  and this is a radical video from this fresh band who do things differently.

From beautiful Auma in Norway, alt-pop duo Ask Carol have toured the world and this is an act that are on a mission for their music to be everywhere. Covid has slowed them down a bit but perhaps its given them the extra time to get more music and awesome videos together for release.

Ask Carol is front woman Carol and also multi-instrumentalist Ask. This fine 2 piece act challenges the traditional conception of what a duo can be. With their powerfully portrayed guitars, drums and fuzz-synth, with Carol’s distinctive, dynamic range and bad-ass vocals, this two-piece creates a wall of sound that is truly great to listen to. They have so much energy, I like the sound of the band and the vocals wake up your heart right away. This is genuine music that is made with such caring precision.

Ask Carol rock in with the brilliant ‘Do It in LA‘ and this is a fine listen. The video is so great and viewers will enjoy the creative nature. They are pushing the boundaries and not trying to copy anyone else.

Askil Fangel returns with reflective indie track ”96 Percent”

Askil Fangel is composer, bassist and vocalist who is based in vibrant London. The London-based Norwegian musician who is a self-confessed coffee addict returns with the reflective new single called ”96 Percent”.

96 Percent” is a chilled indie song that has a tasty mixture of indie and electronic music. I find this to be quite a reflective journey from Askil. This is about talking things through with a close friend to get the full picture. It’s all about getting things straight in your head and making a plan on how to help both of you.

Askil Fangel shines on ”96 Percent” and he has such a unique voice that keeps you listening intently. He is a true storyteller and I feel like I’m on a train while listening to him. I’m looking outside and thinking very deeply, perhaps even over-thinking things. This is a very self-reflective song that makes me feel a little bit sad but I enjoy the sound and my head is always swaying along to the quality musicianship.

Norwegian artist Mörmaid dazzles through electronic genres with debut ”Turn Away”

London-based Norwegian artist and producer Mörmaid is such a huge talent and she drops the world a stunning dream-pop flavored bundle of joy right here. With such an intoxicating beautiful voice I get so lost and daydream to a happy place. This song is all about love and the different instruments here makes me shake my head in amazement.

Turn Away” is all about starting again as you reminisce about what once was. You have healed up and are ready to date again with a brand spanking new perspective on everything. You are a bit wiser and feel the new energy inside your body and soul.

After seeing that Mörmaid is based in London, I was overcome with happy feelings. This is a musician that I would love to see live and witness her majestically musician skill set on my eyes and ears up close so I can understand the creative process.

Turn Away’‘ is so beautiful and this song has made my day. This phenomenally talented artist is on her way to the top with this fantastic release. After changing her artist name from Solpsiche to Mörmaid, this is magnificence personified.

Norwegian producer Botolv blows down the house with spectacular ”Petrichor”

https://soundcloud.com/audetic/petrichor

That smooth down tempo vibe while you are chilling out by the pool, sunglasses are on and you have good company right beside you. This is the summer beat of relaxing magnitude and you have a cold beverage in your hand of course.

Petrichor” is a distinctive, earthy, usually pleasant odor that is associated with rainfall especially when following a warm, dry period. It arises from a combination of volatile plant oils and geosmin released from the soil into the air and by ozone carried by downdrafts. This song sounds and smells very pleasant to me and I want to hear it louder and louder.

Norwegian producer Christian Nerheim Torkelsen aka Botolv is onto a winner here with his progressive and electronic house with a cinematic touch. He is from Bergen where the air is apparently so clear. With music like this his mind must be crystal clear too. ”Petrichor” is a fantastic down tempo song that skyrockets into the mountains with a gold medal wrapped around the vinyl. This is a terrific song that I thoroughly enjoyed and so will you.

”Won’t Let You Down” is silky Tropical House release from newcomer Sindri Björnsson

Feeling that love and being loved when no one else is around. That is a special feeling. You can express yourself in an intimate way and not worry about anyone else.

Sindri Björnsson is a young Norwegian producer who is very new in the game and this is his 2nd ever release. ”Won’t Let You Down’‘ is the follow-up to his debut track ”Love To Lie” from earlier in 2020. This is a name to watch in the music world as he is making straight up hits that will catch fire on the dance floors globally.

This a fun party track that will be played at pool parties all over the world during 2020. Norway’s  Sindri Björnsson has created a happy song all about love and trusting that person in your life that you will treasure each moment and won’t let them down. The tropical beats are reminiscent of influences Kygo, Martin Garrix, and the late great Avicii. The impact these legends have made on this young artist are for all to see and he follows in their trailblazing footsteps. ”Won’t Let You Down” is the summer hit we need to get those feet moving again.

Samana Rising – Another Day: Giving Soft-Rock a whole new meaning

From forming in 2016, Norway’s five-piece Rock band Samana Rising have just recently released their new track ‘’Another Day’’. Going by the sound of Blues Rock, it’s safe to say that this band knows how to make an insane track that makes you feel good when you listen and one that’ll be on repeat for sure.

Another Day is filled with many Rock elements, never swaying away from their revised Blues Rock sound. The electrifying guitar riffs, the hard hitting drum beats as well as the softly spoken vocals that come from vocalist Hanne Severtsen.

Samana Rising are a band that gives their audience something that’s thrilling and really targets that Rock essence, giving off this electrifying atmosphere that is so mesmerising to listen to, but in their own unique way. Keeping that same slow pace but gradually amping up the volume as the instrumentals begin to take a heavier turn.

There are many times throughout where the instrumentation has its  own time to shine with the insane electric riffs and the smooth drum beats, it all blends perfectly well together and it’ll be interesting to see what Samana Rising does next in their musical endeavours.

‘Smoke & Mirrors’ – Amy Gordon

This heartbreaking track is a testament to how far Amy Gordon has come. From small town girl uploading covers to YouTube, to self-assured Norwegian songstress.

‘Smoke & Mirrors’, a stunning farewell to a demon from her past haunting her present, is a melancholic, gut-wrenching song. It starts off quietly, calmly. Amy is introducing us slowly but surely to the pain she has been holding within. The subject, as “cold as the wind in the night” is enough to make her “run faster” from the heartache that is so prevalent in her vocal delivery.

Then, incomes the cascade of a chorus. Amy’s voice is devastatingly beautiful. Our heart strings have definitely been plucked out of place by this point in the song, as we are carried back to the soft, eerie verse. Here, the instrumentals are laden with rhythmic hooks that make ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ sound like the perfect track to be sampled and made into a huge floor-filling remix. But its beauty is definitely in Amy’s pure, unashamed vocal: proving it’s a stand-alone track.

Finally, a cosmic guitar solo reminiscent of a Slowdive interlude sends us into the final crescendo of a chorus, as Amy’s visceral vocal echoes out one last time.
