The future is here: Oso meets his match on the steaming hot RnB single ‘Tap In’

Featuring the lovely Melanie Angel on the new video as the fellow washer at the local dry cleaners, fresh new singer-songwriter Oso drops one of the hottest RnB tracks of the year with ‘Tap In‘. He has his hands full with her but he doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest.

Oso is a Queens, New York RnB/Soul artist who is one of the new breed of musicians who are aiming to bring the genre back to prominence in his city. After growing up in the golden age, he has that extra special style that ensures that if he wants it enough, he will move up the ranks quickly. Co-produced by Hitmaka and the duo Ayo N’ Keyz, this seems like a dynamic team that have just made a hit track.

When you are clearly too creative for the shackles of school life, music is the savior and doing what you love is a blessing; you will sleep in studios and do whatever it takes to make it. This is the only way to succeed in this wild game with so many other artists around, so you need to stand out from the rest.

His voice is so smooth, you don’t need a razor to shave. This is a singer who has endured hardships and who isn’t letting go of this opportunity very easily. When you have talent you need to put in the hard work too otherwise it won’t work for long and it feels like we are witnessing the start of something special.

With an EP on the way, this is the single that is going to help knock the door down and listeners need to wake up and enjoy the ride.

This is the story about upping your game and speaking to that person you like otherwise you may never know what could of been. You might seem to get rejected a few times but that is all a part of the game. Showing your intentions and looking fresh with a smile, is all you really need to do to see if they are into you too. From there, the temperature heats up real quick.

If you want it bad enough, you gotta put the time in and it feels like Oso is that guy. ‘Tap In‘ is the hottest song I’ve seen/heard all year and you might need a cold shower after watching this video.

The tension is so obvious and this is an excellent RnB track that signals a new era for a previously-stale state of affairs. No more. The future is here and looking really bright.

Finding that closure: New York City singer-songwriter Javarr drops ‘The End’ visuals

The End‘ from Javarr is the true story about how dealing with closure can either keep you stuck into what happened, or whether you decide to accept the circumstances, and move on to a fresh start.

Brooklyn, New York singer-songwriter Javarr returns with his signature smooth style and is highly impressive here on this new single. His voice is vibrant and honest, he hits the high notes that so many can’t, while never overstretching or straining his vocals. The fantastic falsetto energy blows in hot and you find yourself swaying along and reminiscing about breakups and how they can either go well or badly.

”They say closure happens right after you accept that letting go is more important than protecting a fantasy of how the relationship/friendship could have been”.- Javarr

The visuals are so real and shows how the classy way to end things is so hard to do, but necessary. The pain is there but you both need to move on and start fresh after healing first.

Brooklyn’s Javarr sends us a message that needs to be heard on ‘The End‘. In life, being happy inside has to be number one and holding onto things, no matter how much you miss them, only sucks you down and does nothing to help you long-term.

Overcoming doubters to fully flourish: Multi-talented Brooklyn creative Rafi Barides is now ready to ‘Breathe’

The true story of a creative who wasn’t allowed to be free like a bird when he was young and how he overcome it all, to do what he loves. He now flies above all the people that said he couldn’t do it. New York City native Rafi Barides shows the world his undeniable talent via his brand new song called ‘Breathe‘.

Rafi Barides is a Brooklyn, New York based DJ, producer, singer-songwriter, pianist, guitarist and clearly loves to learn new skills all the time. He has overcome so much and could of given up years ago and done what the small minded haters said he should do. He did the opposite and is now thriving in his beloved New York, where he has found his tribe who believe in him.

The terrifically uplifting piano start kicks you into action and you start bobbing your head in enjoyment. Then, the beat stops and sparks into a new electricity from his tremendous voice and elegant style. This is a man who is so self-aware and knows what he needs to do now and wasting money at the shops isn’t what he is about. Seeking that decision: New York’s Sky Spirals bring their uniquely brilliant Alt-Rock flavor on ‘Don’t Say Maybe’

Long Island, New York cosmic creators Sky Spirals dazzle the galaxies up above with the mind-bending experience that is called ‘Don’t Say Maybe‘.

This is the 2nd Alt-Rock single from the brand new ‘Underneath A Tie-Dye Sky‘ album. The stunning start is filled with a lovely piano-filled intro that is like a calming wave that has come to the shore, after the horrible storm that caused so much damage.

You don’t hear such creative music like this everyday and the intricate layers here are calming and makes you think deeply about people you have met before, that hate to make a proper decision. You like to know what is going on but some others like to hide their true feelings.

”We are interested in exploring the sonic relationships between analog and digital media.”- Sky Spirals

This is the story of wanting an answer and not a middling maybe that doesn’t do anything but cause confusion. It can set you free to say yes or no, the middle is like being stuck in an elevator; you can’t go up, down or get out unless you are Jason Bourne.

Indecision is such a normal thing these days as this frustrates the poetically astute singer-songwriter. The background beat are almost TV-game like at times an this flowing energy field is perfectly constructed and the lyrics are so honest.

New York galaxy travelers Sky Spirals have created a niche style and this is the kind of forward-thinking music that is often ignored. They deserve heaps of credit for making such a gem and ‘Don’t Say Maybe‘ will have you feeling thoughtful and that grumpy 2020 mood will definitely improve.

Scott Rocco – Sum of You: Ardently Enrapturing Indie Americana Alt Folk

Award-winning artist Scott Rocco’s talent in creating soulfully cutting Alt Indie Folk Rock has discernibly got sharper, his latest release, ‘Sum of You’ resounds with NYC romantic cool.

While people are far too busy discussing whether Fairytale of New York should be allowed airplay, they’re sleeping on stunning releases such as Sum of You which delivers pure anthemic Americana while simultaneously exuding the intimacy of Indie Folk.

With their debut album IGNITED in the pipeline, you’ll definitely want this mind-blowingly exceptional artist on your radar. His ability to materialise the human condition and the essence of our suffering in his soundscapes is practically unparallelled. As far as I’m concerned, there is no better purveyor of raw heartfelt rock currently contributing to the airwaves. The level of emotion contained in Sum of You is potent enough to reanimate even the most jaded of souls (I’m pretty much speaking from experience there).

Adam James take us all on an americana road-trip to Lucky Dollar City

New York native singer-songwriter Adam James (More Than Skies, Sleep Bellum Sonno, and The Vigilance Committee) hits out with this, the lead track from his debut solo EP ‘Lucky Dollar City’. Produced by Ace Enders of The Early November, ‘Lucky Dollar City’ is a stunning slice of genre-crossing acoustic folk-pop americana in the style of the Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo, The Replacements, or maybe ‘Hang Time’ era Soul Asylum.

James’ voice is effortlessly world-weary yet hopeful, a Paul Westerberg edge within the acoustic strumming, gentle snare pushes, and gorgeously laid-back string accompaniment,  whilst overall ‘Lucky Dollar City’ could easily have found itself on ‘Don’t Tell A Soul’ or ‘Hollywood Town Hall’. Nothing more needs to be said – it really is that good.

Finding his voice in the music world: ‘Lately’ (Intro) from TYWU is a teaser R&B-Hip Hop track to start a new journey

https://soundcloud.com/tywu/lately-intro?ref=clipboard&p=i&c=1

The atmospheric beginning are a welcome listen for those tired souls out there who need a new role model to follow. This is the intro for something bigger, the poet who made music his home and wants to be the best at what he does. The Bronx, New York native flexes his muscles and finds his voice here, with a smooth start as he shows his lyrically ability in full force. TYWU introduces himself to the music world on ‘Lately’ (Intro) and this is a track all about knowing you have to put the work in to be the best at whatever you set your mind to.

”I always said if I got into music I can’t be like everyone else, I’ll stand out and be that one artist that actually has something to offer while still being able to serve our current era and demographic”. – TYWU talking about his music vision.

You know you need the building blocks first to achieve your goals and the extra steps needed can’t be missed out or the foundations will fall over. The young Emcee is forthright in knowing that he needs to put in that extra, as there is lots of competition out there in the Hip Hop/R&B world. Nothing is going to come easy this time.

The Poet who started writing at school and succeeded greatly, wining many competitions and gained the respect and adulation of his peers. Then, the creative juices started flowing towards the often stormy winds of the music game that are fraught with unforeseen winds, and many an ego to contend with. It feels like this is a smart young man who knows what he needs to do.

With a crystal clear voice and loads of lyrical skills in his locker, the door has swung open and he is eager to unleash his music to hungry ears who are keen to hear what the next generation has to offer. TYWU shows massive potential on ‘Lately’ (Intro) and if he can follow his own advice, the sky is the limit on what he can accomplish.

‘Sweet Dreams’ Re-imagined: Exciting duo Sonophonix put their own blend on a classic with supremely satisfying results

Sweet Dreams‘ Re-imagined: Exciting duo Sonophonix put their own blend on a classic with supremely satisfying results as they are two such talented musicians. Form is temporary and class is permanent- these two incredible artists have created something so stunning here for us in the fire of 2020 that cools the airs and helps with the global anxiety.

Cellist Xue was born in Beijing, China and is now New York based where she works with various indie acts. After learning the piano aged 4, she moved onto the cello when she was only 9 years old.

Deborah is the pianist here and is from Salem, Oregon but now based in New York City too. She also started playing piano when she was just 4 years old and you can feel the quality here.

This is a beautiful expression of music without words and the stunning soundscape is a blessing to our tired souls. The exciting duo are two inspiring women that use their skills to make such amazing music.

‘We combined electronic elements and a touch of vocals to compliment the piano and cello.’- Sonophonix

This is an underrated duo that deserve more love and Sonophonix have been careful to put their own spin on such a classic song. Sometimes covers can sound clunky or too similar to the original. Not on this occasion. I feel so relaxed after listening to this and you will too.

With years of practice on different instruments, you can feel that these two talented musicians are in their element here and the results are marvelous. The goal of creating an atmospheric sound palette has certainly been achieved.
