DC Millionz regrets the ‘XO’s in his seminal trap track

Up and coming hip hop artist, DC Millionz, proved that he’s seamlessly in line with the contemporary trap trends with the release of his debut EP, Dc’s World, which follows on from his 2021 debut single, be safe.

The standout single from his EP, XO, is the perfect introduction to his raw lyricism, enigmatic personality and angst-stripping melodies. It is easily one of the most realistic love songs to hit the airwaves in 2021 for the way it encompasses ghosting and the regret that hits us after connecting with the wrong people only to find ourselves even more alone.

The philosophical proposition that the romantics ruined everything by implanting unattainable ideals rings especially true in XO. It proves that not all scepticism is cynicism; sometimes, it is just common sense to take a dim view of what romance puts in front of us.

House of Weirdos is a four-piece The Bronx, New York-based indie funk-rock band. They are a highly experienced act who keep the humor light and full of laughs, as they showcase their electric energy with a terrific track here.

With highly expressive vocals which are finely tuned and featuring a chorus which will have you singing along, this is an entertaining track with lots of heart and shows us their likable style, which is easy to see on this funny single.

‘Help Me Doctor, Please‘ from The Bronx, New York-based indie funk-rock band House of Weirdos, is a tremendously fun track which tells the story of needing to go for help, but leaving really quickly with the gloves come out for further inspection. James Watkins aka Jay Ekō, is a Buffalo, New York-born RnB/pop artist who fuses in some elements of fresh hip-hop beats into his music. He is a young singer with so much potential, as he has made his mind up now that this is the career path which will make him truly fulfilled.

”Jay moved to Charlotte, NC following his junior year of high school. New surroundings gave birth to new relationships, inspiration, and opportunity…until it didn’t. Fear and self-doubt crippled his ability to create until the global pandemic shifted his perspective and reset his focus to what he loves most- creating music.” ~ Jay Ekō

With an expressive story into his life right now as the person who he cares about is picking a fight with him at every corner, this is a real message that rings home true for so many. You feel like things are rough right now and you don’t even recall how this beef started – as you wish for it to end real quick – as its draining your energy like a phone on flat.

Made with a reflective edge and pulsating vocals, you feel like this is a track to play loud in the car when you are going through romantic issues. His vocals are quality and with a terrific beat, there is lots to wrap hungrily into here.

At the age of 15, Jay received the opportunity to attend a studio session with fellow Buffalo-native, King Jester.
