Nizar Bredan starts a ‘Journey’ with his latest neo-classic composition.

Libya-born, Brussels-based self-taught neoclassical composer and pianist Nizar Breden has released his latest composition, Journey; through the gentle melodic crescendos, Bredan’s diverse cultural heritage emerges through the delicate score that is provoking and profound in equal measure.

By switching between dramatic, uplifting and tentative cadences, Journey is a score that will leave you hooked by its multifaceted nature, expressive textures, and Bredan’s ability to melodically flit between melancholy and an almost Machiavellian style of playfulness.

After finding influence in the wandering tones of Chopin, the circulating melodies of Tiersen and the evocative works Ólafur Arnalds, Ludovico Einaudi and Nils Frahm, Bredan discernibly found his signature style that will easily enamour any fans of the aforementioned.

Journey is the first of the singles to come from his new series of original compositions; the rest are due to follow throughout 2021 and 2022.

Marcus Moon marries the present with the past in his neo-classic score ‘Wedding Waltz’

Canadian Neo-classic artist and composer, Marcus Moon, released their highly-anticipated debut album, ‘Letters from the Moon’, as 2020 drew to a close. His “classical music for modern times” is an all too welcome distraction from the same modernity it reflects.

The refined decadence in the lead single ‘Wedding Waltz’ is the aural equivalent to slipping into a Jane Austen novel; it’s grandiose without becoming theatrical. Instead, through his command of vivid melodies, Marcus Moon is able to paint a neo-classic portrait which evokes emotion instead of forcing emotion upon you; allowing the timeless tones to resonate as much in your own world as they would in an imagined archaic fantasy (we all have those, right?).

Cucurbitophobia has made a phantasmal return with their chillingly dark Avant-Garde release “Exordium”

There was no forgetting Cucurbitophobia after being introduced to their 2019 single “Requiem”. How could we ever forget an Ambient Avant-Garde artist whose chosen title is also the name of pumpkin phobia?

After the release of their latest soundscape “Exordium”, we couldn’t resist delving into the Neo-Classically artful tones once more. The instrumental score sets up the most phantasmal Waltz-style piano score which has ever crept into your ears. With a significant lacing of ethereal effects, you’ll feel like you’ve just been dragged around a ballroom by a poltergeist. Given that that’s (probably) never happened to you in real life, you’ll have to hit play to know what I mean.

Exordium is the opening title from Cucurbitophobia’s release “Dies Ferialis (Awakening the Lemurs)”. It serves to set the tone for a dark tale of ancient evil spirits wreaking havoc in a modern world to be told. Rather efficaciously may I add. Bring on the apocalyptic festivals and the walking dead.
