The New Tropics augmented introspection in their indie-rock anthem, Street Parking

Proving that razor-sharp pop hooks have a place in indie rock and introspection hits even sweeter when it is infectiously augmented is the Nashville-hailing powerhouse, The New Tropics with their recently released sophomore single, Street Parking.

The sweeping guitar chords, vocal lines which harmonise with almost endless sustain, and the pulsative rhythm section combine to synthesise a sound which doesn’t break the mould but polishes it with scarcely heard cultivation.

The sticky-sweet coming-of-age ode to growing pains ticks all the right boxes while inventing a few more for their sonic signature to scribe through. You just can’t help but feel The New Tropics hype when you sink into the expansively vivacious atmosphere; whatever the trio turn to next under the influence of The Cardigans, Paramore, and The Beaches, it’s bound to be a riotous ride through reimagined indie nostalgia.

Street Parking was officially released on July 12 and is now available to stream on all major platforms, including Spotify.

McKay exhibited cybernetic sickness in their indie folk punk single, Plugged

If the Beatles psychedelically strode across Pavement’s indie rock obscurity and checked into the Neutral Milk Hotel, the sonic result would groove in the same vein as McKay’s single, Unplugged.

The indie folk punk outpour of raw striking rancour inhibits nothing as the track veers from kaleidoscopic psychedelia to gritty instrumentation and lyrical volition that allows you to feel the inward visceral frustration that encompasses our inability to be a perfect portrait when the landscape that surrounds us warped by increasingly digital dystopia.

I’m pretty sure we can all relate to the exposition of how toxic dopamine habits compel us to stay hooked up to all the wrong lifebloods and leave us at further odds with ourselves. Given the evocative immersion Plugged provides, it is no surprise that McKay has become one of the hottest indie acts in the Nashville scene.

Plugged will debut on September 14; stream it on SoundCloud.

The Ivins – Bloom: Affably Sonic Indie Alt Rock from Nashville with Love

The Ivins stirred up the Nashville sound with their Funk-riding take on Indie Alt Rock through their latest single ‘Bloom’. Expect sonic nuance and melodic angular hooks which will leave you lacerated as you fall into the sticky-sweet nectar which drips from their affably accessible sound.

With soaring choruses, tenderly imploring vocals which share the same soul-stroking propensity as the likes of Silversun Pickups, you can’t help getting engrossed by the familiar yet discernibly fresh mix of modern Indie and the timeless tones of the Alt 90s.

It’s hard to feel pessimisic about the future of the music industry when artists such as The Ivins offer such adrenalizing vitality in their sound. Get them on your radar.

Bloom is available to stream via Spotify.
