Merle

māsa are absolutely spellbinding on the raft-floating track you need to hear called ‘My Love Went to Sea’

With their debut album ‘Sailors and Insomniacs‘ set for a 1st of July release that will voyage into the Deep Sea Psyche, māsa look for those must-have directions to find that abandoned soul who needs to be saved on the exquisite, ‘My Love Went to Sea‘.

māsa (formerly known as Currer Bell), is a UK-based siblings-created indie alt-folk duo that was beautifully created by Faron and Merle who have recently started a fresh journey with a new name that shows their ever-increasing growth.

This song is about that feeling of desperately wanting to connect but failing. Sometimes people we love seem unreachable; they’ve gone to a deeper, darker place where we cannot touch them. It can feel hopeless, like trying to talk with someone on the ocean bed when you’re sailing on the surface. But you keep trying anyway, hoping that one day, you’ll pull them up from the depths.” – māsa

Showing us something rare that is so pure in nature and calmly performed, māsa leads us inside the vast ocean with their brave raft that will surely find that temporarily unsighted soul who needs to be found, before they are deemed lost forever.

And now, the horizon looks different. We are sailing for unknown lands, and we cannot bring our crinolines and inkpots with us everywhere. The only thing we know we will be bringing is each other. Sisters.” ~ māsa

My Love Went to Sea‘ from the soulfully graceful UK-based indie alt-folk family duo māsa, is one of the most enchanting experiences you are likely to witness all year. Their captivatingly radiant vocal ability combined together is something that can only be explained if you listen to these two incredible young artists on full volume, as we are swept into a whole new universe that has so much hope. This is a magnificent single made with love – as trying no matter what the odds –  is the most courageous thing possible to humankind.
