“Spring Trap” is the standout soul-swellingly colossal single from LA Alt Rock solo artist Tiger Kid’s self-titled EP. Turn up the volume and let the melodically high-octane anthemic sound blow the cobwebs off your speakers.

Achieving that kind of anthemic sound can only be done with a serious amount of talent when it comes to constructing the track and with the execution which demands a near virtuoso-level of skill, which Tiger Kid discernibly possesses.

Under the influence of The Foo Fighters, Coheed and Cambria and Queens of the Stone Age, Spring Trap was never going to fall flat.

The juicy choruses, the uplifting lyricism and the sheer amount of momentum made Spring Trap mosh pit frenzy fuel. If you don’t miss live music before you hit play, you definitely will after the galvanizing track has faded to a close.

Fans of Radiohead, The Beatles, and Nirvana are likely to categorically agree that up and coming Alt Rock artist 8udDha bl0od’s upcoming single 21Rc0ni1 is a stunningly enrapturing soundscape.

With elements of Art Rock and Psych Pop with nuances of the Seattle Sound lingering in the accordant tones, 8udDha bl0od’s latest single offers the archetype smashing genre-transcendence we’ve come to expect from them. But what we definitely didn’t expect was the quantity of candid emotion which poured in through the lyrics and vocals in equal amounts.

The quiescent vocals pull you in deeper to the point you’d be able to hear a pin drop in the production while the melodies soothe you with their organic catharsis.

Western Automatic – Lemon Party: Explosively Infectious Melodic Alt Rock

If you’re looking for your next fix of melodic aural filth, look no further than Western Automatic’s raucously electric Alt Rock EP “The Fugitive”.

While each of the tracks will make sure that your mind is suitably altered, the best introduction to Western Automatic’s gritty and raw, yet momentously anthemic sound is “Lemon Party”.

With the filthy basslines, heavily distorted guitars carving buzz saw riffs, punchy percussion and the swagger in the vocals Lemon Party has everything you’d hope to hear from a new Alt Rock track. Yet, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more infectious chorus in a new Alt Rock track if you turned on the radio today.

The Chicago-based artist has been one to watch since they made their debut in 2014. But after the release of The Fugitive EP, they’ve created the ultimate testament to their talent and proven that they’re an aural force to be reckoned with.

Their fine balance of consciousness-consuming chaotic experimentalism with their ability to write solid, connectable tracks isn’t something we get to hear every day. Get them on your radar.

King Crimson fans will definitely want to nestle into 8udDha bl0od’s engrossingly melodious Alt Folk Rock single Time’s Warps: ii.iii Days Go By.

The tenderly sedative soundscape incorporates a kick of psychedelia into the practically celestial progressions which will gently pull you through the ingenuity which we’ve come to expect from 8udDha bl0od.  Yet, Time’s Warps: ii.iii Days Go By is by far one of the purest unalloyed tracks we’ve heard from the Brighton-based artist so far. Stunning feels like an understatement when it comes to this almost neo-classic composition.

8udDha bl0od has dropped an emotive aural bombshell with their strikingly resonant single “Paranoia”

Lockdown may be playing havoc with my emotions, but even if we weren’t living in times where clinging onto sanity is practically impossible,  I have no doubt that I wouldn’t have been able to get to the outro of 8udDha bl0od’s single “Paranoia” with dry eyes.

Striking ethereal classic strings join the Indie Rock instrumental arrangement to carve captivating bitter-sweet melodies while 8udDha bl0od’s vocals provide a profound sense of comfort and catharsis I usually look to James Dean Bradfield for. But it’s safe to say, that the Manic Street preachers have never been as bold with their sound as 8udDha bl0od was in Paranoia. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more resonant contemporary track than this.

You’ll have to wait for a little while before you can be emotively stung by 8udDha bl0od’s single Paranoia. In the meantime, you can delve into their diverse discography via SoundCloud.

Thomas Bradley Project – Eternal Sea: Progressive Melodic Rock

Folk meets Rock in Thomas Bradley Project’s stunning new progressive melodic Rock single Eternal Sea.

While there are plenty of tonal transgressions in the epic 7-minute long track, each is as beguilingly immersive as the last. The seamlessly captivating progressions offer ample amounts of cathartic escapism as the deftly arranged instrumentals work in complete synergy. So, even though we’re on lockdown right now, we can still allow our minds to explore aurally arcane soundscapes.

With the Folk-Rock vocals, violin strings offering a pensive sting, the acoustic guitar and bass bringing the rhythm and Thomas Bradley’s Stratocaster setting up sweet Blues Rock riffs, don’t be surprised if your consciousness is consumed entirely once you hit play on Eternal Sea.

Up and coming Melbourne Indie artist Mondé is set to release their emotively raw, accordantly powerful Indie Art Rock single Best At. Fans of The National, and The Editors, you’re going to want to hear it.

Mondé possesses the rare ability to make lightly orchestrated instrumentals bleed pure weighted emotion. If you’re as aurally sensitive as me, listening to Best At will be an emotional sucker punch.

The humble yet stridently ardent romanticism-soaked lyrics allow you to warm to Mondé instantaneously. You’ll be captivated by his talent when it comes to making the inexpressible expressible.

It’s not only the momentum which picks up as the single progresses. The raw unfiltered soul also amps up in ferocity as the poised and gentle Indie vocals evolve into forcefully zealous choral howls. The seamless build up in intensity is just one of the reasons why this flawless track demands repeat attention.

Snowflake Generation – Wake Me Up: Intricately Masterful Authentically Absorbing Indie

Indie newcomers Snowflake Generation have recently released their third single “Wake Me Up” if you want to restore your faith in Indie, look no further than this progressively blissful track.

The bitter-sweet melodies may leave your soul feeling a little sore, but it’s more than worth enduring the emotive weight which this single has to offer. If Incubus experimented with grungier tones and nuances of Pop Punk, the end result would undoubtedly share reminiscences with Wake Me Up.

It’s an intricately masterful testament to Snowflake Generations’ progress since their inception in Autumn 2019. There’s pretty much everything you could ask for from an Indie Rock track in Wake Me Up. Soaring guitar solos, undiluted emotion, and perhaps most importantly, the affirmation that Snowflake Generation are running with their own sound and their souls are the essence for it.

If I had a pound for every new Indie artist with as much authenticity as Snowflake Generation, I’d be pretty broke.

Get them on your radars. They won’t be up and coming for long.

Love Ghost – Dead Brother: Atmospherically Phantasmal Dark Rock

I’m used to psychological terror on-screen but listening to Love Ghost’s latest single “Dead Bother” was my first time of taking it in aurally.

That all sounds frightfully macabre. But what you’ll actually get when you hit play is an atmospheric, groove-filled feat of Dark Rock complete with lyrics which share reminiscences with Horror Punk pioneers the Misfits. Yet the serpentine dark 80s-inspired rhythms combined with the phantasmally bewitching vocals create a hazy mellow soundscape which allows you to soak up the disconcerting lyricism all too easily. Any fans of Deftones, Type O Negative, Incubus and A Perfect Circle are sure to appreciate Dead Brother as much as we did.

Dean Angelo Lazzara – Generation Dreamer: Expressive Riff-Laden Up-Vibe Alt Garage Rock

If you can let Dean Angelo Lazzara’s single “Generation Dreamer” crash to a close without being warmed by the expressive riff-led endearing defiance it contains, you might want to check if your soul is still functioning.

Any fans of Eagles of Death Metal are sure to instantaneously appreciate Dean Angelo Lazzara’s sunny approach to Rock which strips away the tough exterior and offers an anthem to unite the ‘dreamer generation’.

You can see Generation Dreamer as Dean Angelo Lazzara’s deftly mastered way of saying ‘Okay Boomer’. There’s already enough hate lingering in the atmosphere. So, instead of adding to it, the upbeat hit unifies through resonance instead of anger. If there’s anything that the world needs more of right now, it’s artists like Dean Angelo Lazzara who are ready to spill their vibrant optimism and serve reminders to not let existentialism consume you.

The sticky-sweet choruses carry the perfect amount of Psych colour. And the James Dean Bradfield-style chomping guitar riffs ensured that no matter how playful the single is, it’s still an aural force to be reckoned with.
