Mikey entwines Trap with Blues in their standout single ‘Sacrifices’

Indie Hip Hop artist Mikey dropped their soul-searching single “Sacrifices” earlier this year. With plenty of humbling and inspiring Hip Hop in the pipeline, there has never been a better time to jump on their sound.

With the repetition of the question “why me?” Mikey hammers home the injustice in the disparity of fairness. But within the verses of the cutting Indie Hip Hop single you’ll find positivity which allows the listener to realise that despite how unfair the hand you’ve been dealt or what struggles are put in front of you, you have the power to overcome them.

With old school bluesy tantalising guitar tones finding synergy with the concise Trap beats, the instrumentals offer plenty of depth, but that aural alchemy is nothing in comparison to the powerful lyricism which is forceful enough to seismically shift your mindset.

Shakes – Called Up: Atmospherically Convictive Hip Hop

If it has been a while since a Rap artist has made your jaw drop with their rhythmic vocal prowess, be prepared to feel a little gormless while listening to the bars in Called Up. Which is just one of the tracks which you will find on the up and coming Hip Hop artist Shakes’ debut EP “Fifteen Minutes”.

With the same relentless waxing lyrical flair as the likes of Eminem, you can’t help but find respect and adoration for Shakes. Meanwhile, the instrumentals make it all too easy for you to drink in the convictive bars, the beats may be minimalistic, but there’s no denying that they are alluringly efficacious all the same.

Slogan” is the lyrically-led blazingly fresh Hip Hop drop from up and coming 18-year-old artist Kamyee B. The minimalistic beats leave plenty of room for her convictive Rap bars to totally dominate the track and your attention as the steady atmospheric mix unfolds.

There may be plenty of attitude in Slogan, yet it’s also one of the most connectable Rap tracks we’ve heard this year. Kamyee’s charismatic energy makes Slogan accessible from the first hit and the ingenious outro makes the track unforgettable.

Slogan concludes with a phone conversation that any woman working in any creative industry will understand. It re-enacts the hilarity when sleazy industry guys start appearing from the woodwork start trying to use your own art to get in your pants. Kamyee finds a nuanced and clever way of saying, don’t fall for it.

There may be plenty of Old School elements in Golden Ticket stylistically. But lyrically, Golden Ticket is well and truly grounded in the 21st century. Arthur Pri¢e is on lyrical fire in their latest Ambient Indie Hip Hop single “Witnesses”

Up and coming Hip Hop artist Arthur Pri¢e dropped the official music video to their latest single Witnesses on July 19th. With a sound which sits right on the contemporary curve, the smooth grind of the beats and the flawless production, any fans of downtempo Hip Hop will want to indulge themselves.

You can’t help but lock into Arthur Pri¢e’s introspectively deep Rap bars which offer as much connectable resonance as they do wit. I’ll never get tired of hearing Rap bars which show that Rap and poetry are two sides of the same coin. There’s an incredibly refreshing sense that Arthur Pri¢e held nothing back when penning the powerful perfectly metered lyrics.

From start to finish, Witness is a mesmerizingly immersive track. The instrumentals may be stripped back, but the ambient grooves behind Arthur Pri¢e’s bars prove to be an alchemic combination.
