Kuzo – Mirage: Sunset Vibes, A Postcard from LA

Kuzo is possibly the freshest act on the Electro Pop scene today. The LA based duo are currently hitting up the underground with their euphoric minimalist beats & pensive lyrical style. Their latest track Mirage follows a seamless progression that you’d be all too happy to listen to as you drive into the sunset. The vibrant beats have a transcendent quality behind them, with poignant lyrical layers for your mind to unravel as you get lost in the music. It’s the perfect mix of downtempo and trance to create music that will motivate even the most melancholic of people to dance. Fans of LCD Sound System, M83, and London Grammar are highly recommended to check out this track.

It’s almost impossible not to be moved by the duo’s impeccable first class sound infused with their striking sleek and sultry image. Electro fans are insatiable for their sound which they have finetuned since their earlier debut hits. With mirage they’ve undoubtedly made their anthem, it’s ridiculously catchy, and comes with the demand that you don’t just listen to the track once.

Jojamgah Releases Hypnotic Psychedelic Track “Eureka Flashback”

Jojamgah is one of those artists who’s sound does just cannot be categorised or put in a box. His music is a blend of several various elements which all come together to form a homogeneous hypnotic sound that is capable of taking the listener on an auditory journey. But this is not all. The music also carries meaning within the lyrics and blends the vocal parts into the atmospheric musical texture. “Eureka Flashback” is in fact the perfect example for this concept.

Being essentially the artistic expression of a conversation between a man and a woman “Eureka Flashback” features vocal parts which are manipulated and processed to blend in perfectly with the instrumental texture seamlessly, rather than stand out and shine above the rest of the music. The song, which is in fact the first single from the new dark comedy sci-fi musical “Attack Of The Sex Robots,” is rich in guitar sonorities, digital effects and hypnotic floating sounds which create the psychedelic final sound. Although very abstract and dreamlike, “Eureka Flashback” is capable of captivating the listener’s attention through a very creative artistic vision which blends the human voice with a more digital texture. Lauren McClinton – Anatomy: R&B Soaked in Synthetic Melody

Anatomy is the brand new single from the talented R&B and Soul artist Lauren McClinton.

Fresh from the success of her debut single Lauren has created yet another charismatically charming track steeped with evocative emotion & raw talent. The US based singer, song writer and instrumentalist takes a wholesome reproach to her music which she infuses with contemporary sound. Yet despite her devout roots she creates a sound that you don’t have to be Godfearing to enjoy. I’m always sceptical when it comes to listening to religious musicians. But McClinton sets the standard when it comes to evangelical sound and creates the perfect melody over a deeply resonant sound.

In parts the effects are a little heavy that dampens the unique styling of her voice, I’d love to hear a more acoustic track from the talented artist, but her new single is going down a storm and has even managed to gain some radio time with 102.1. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from this talented R&B artist.

In her humble nature Lauren loves checking in with her fans, so make sure you check her out on Facebook:

Nuglife Productions™ – Walk It Off: 420 Fans This Is For You.

Nuglife Productions ™ new sound Walk It Off ft. Yung Faded Mane & Mike Pro is a sound that could match the fury of the fists of a thousand tempests. The Rap Hip Hop styling is contemporary as it comes. Riddled with hard hitting synth effects the track follows a vivacious styling that will almost certainly leave you revelling in pseudo-masculine energy with its clever use of varying expletives.

Nuglife Productions ™ was started by Steven ‘Nuglife’ Soils, a Hip Hop Rapper, producer and DJ based in Los Angeles, US who is setting the standard in the harsh Hip Hop spectrum of sound. His penchant for the 420 scene can’t be ignored through his proud to be a stoner branding, although his new track Walk It Off is probably not something you’d want to listen to during a session. His music is a mash up of sampled vinyl sound & instrumental originals used in Walk It Off which is just one of the new tracks on his upcoming EP.

MædMerc – Voices: Student Stoner Rock at its Finest

MædMerc is the outstandingly stunning brain child of two students that joined forces while studying at the University of California, Los Angeles; Zain Malik & Uddhav Mehra. MædMerc isn’t the first project they’ve combined their talents with. Their former band Animal Spirits saw the enigmatic duo shoot to fame, although their latest track Voices has the delectable notes of humble beginnings. Their screeching guitar solos show that there’s a long way to go for this band, however there’s an exponential amount of style, talent and potential behind the soundwaves that Zain and Uddhav are putting out.

The acoustic guitar sets a plateau of dulcet sounds which are wrapped around some questionable yet inventive synthetic effects. Together the two musicians create the perfect stoner blues rock sound track that’s sure to send you under with the dubbed over voices that strangely compliment the vocal diversity of the main vocalist who has everything that you’d expect from a rock outfit singer. What sets the band apart for me is their ability to really express their emotion through the track, in a short 4 minute track, the music tells you all you need to know about the band, it’s enough for you to be eager for them to bring out more!

If you like MædMerc make sure you follow them on Facebook!

MRCL.X Release Video For “1st LuV -Sweet Dreams MASHUP”

MRCL.X - 1st LuV -Sweet Dreams MASHUP ( Jam Session) from MRCL.X on Vimeo.

It’s always fun to see artists we love cover the artists they love, but many believe you can never truly replace an original piece of work. This said, the advent of DJ culture brought up the concept of bringing pieces together for a new, unique spin on old works. MRCL.X has found that taking the idea of a Mashup and applying it to more traditional songwriting as opposed to a mixture of two songs played simultaneously through samples and crossfading. With this idea in mind, we’re treated to an original song that trails off into the Eurythmics classic Sweet Dreams.

1st LuV tackles heavy feelings with dark sensibility to performance while the music is genuinely neutral –sounding in tone, leaving heavy contrast that emphasizes the ghastly vocals and evocative subject matter. To top off the haunting verse, the familiar lyrics come through to sing us a chorus from the past that has been done more than once for a radio hit, but never like this. To say it leaves an impression is an understatement. This mashup is worthy of the source material it uses and truly found art in the synergy of combining original and covered art.

A&R Factory Present: LANY

Electronic music has soared to great heights over the last decade, but while many have focused their efforts on EDM, others are going back to the roots of digital recording.

From 1975’s “Love Me” to Charli XCX’s “Body of My Own” as shared on The Odyssey, modern pop, indie and alternative musicians are seeking inspiration from the 80s. Some even sound like they’re straight out of the era, composing songs that are quite honestly refreshing in the global music industry that’s currently dominated by The Chainsmokers, and any other producers that match their aesthetic. One of these groups that we’re featuring today is the three-piece outfit hailing from Los Angeles, better known as LANY, short for Los Angeles New York.

An alternative rock/indie pop band that formed back in March 2015, lead vocalist Paul Jason Klein is a former model and solo artist who flew to Nashville to meet up with Jake Clifford Goss and Les Priest. The first two tracks that debuted on Soundcloud were “Hot Lights” and “Walk Away.” Without revealing any of their identities, they released single after single, finally exposing who LANY (pronounced lay-nee) really were.

Even though no one knew or heard of LANY before the big reveal, their songs generated a massive online following, and the reason for this is because of how much of a standout they are in the music industry. Frontman Klein tells Teen Vogue in an interview, “I think the magic of LANY just happened by the three of us bringing our influences and experiences to the table and together we just formed our sound.” They may not have an exact definition of what genre they fall under, but there’s no doubt that they are pretty nostalgic over 80s electronic beats.

When we look back to the 80s, a lot of the images that come to mind are statement shoulder pads, neon lights and big hairstyles. As for 80s music, we even see it honoured in the form of digital titles. Gaming portal Slingo have indicated in their themed game Neon Staxx that the decade was defined by the blaring synthesisers, and with the number of artists listed on The Lala, including LANY, reminiscing and using that synth pop sound, it’s clear that the 80s are back with a vengeance.

Currently in the middle of their worldwide tour, kinda has been extended to the middle of July, with the remaining gigs located in Asia, Europe, Canada and the US. They expect to release their debut studio album on June 30th, with pre-orders available now on their website.

Here is the complete tracklist for their debut album:
1) Dumb Stuff
2) The Breakup

A&R Factory Present: Lost Beach

Hailing from the beaches south of Los Angeles, LOST BEACH combines the sentimentality of sun in your face, while pining for the unknown in what we call indie rock n roll. Native Texan Jonny Perdue came to California to further his pursuit in music, finding guitarist and collaborator Steve Stout via a chance encounter while both playing for siblings of two different bands. During his time on the coast, Jonny met Hermosa-raised drummer Davey Latter and bassist Zacc West, also linking up with keys player Davey Allen after seeing his performance at a soundcheck in LA. “Perdue,” meaning lost in French, and the band’s residence on the coast inspired their moniker LOST BEACH. From Otis Redding to Elliott Smith, the group draws inspiration from the sounds of older records and a DIY mentality of self-production.

Lost Beach will be releasing singles in the coming months in anticipation of their self produced full length LP later this year.

A&R Factory Present: The Drives

This LA based band creates a cocktail of indie rock and electro-pop that blends into a unique and different sound. Andrew Levin (songwriter, vocals) and KC (producer/songwriter) met in high school in Orange County, CA and have been playing in bands and writing music together ever since.

After searching for their sound and developing their respective music tastes in various cities including Boston and New York City, KC and Andrew returned to Los Angeles in early 2015 to put together their ideas into an EP. Their music is heavily influenced by indie rock legends such as The Strokes, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, and Kings of Leon with additional influences from Phoenix and RAC.

With catchy guitar hooks and vocal stutter effects The Drives create a unique vibe similar to modern indie acts such as The 1975 and Catfish and the Bottlemen. Listen to “Whatever” now on soundcloud.

A&R Factory Present: PLEXXAGLASS

PLEXXAGLASS is a unique singer-songwriter and keyboardist based in LA. Her writing style is influenced by powerful female musician/songwriters of the alternative singer-songwriter genre.

Her recent studio achievements include, writing/composing/releasing  two demos ‘catching up’ and ‘who I am’ to critical acclaim, releasing a haunting cover of Elle King’s ‘ex’s & oh’s’ under her legal name (Alexa Joan Rae), and completed a collaboratively written song called ‘aloft’ from across the country with the band ‘hours north’ at halo studios in Portland, Maine. She will be continuing recording with Kevin Billingslea of Halo Studios for her upcoming 2017 releases.

In the past two years, PLEXXAGLASS has been seen live in venues such as The Mint, The House Of Blues (Hollywood), Cake Shop (Nick), Knitting Factory (Brooklyn), and the famous Troubadour.

PLEXXAGLASS did a two week run of the east coast and mid-west as a piano-violin duo with collaborators, ‘Hours North’. They expanded their reach in Ohio, NYC, Brooklyn, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Indiana with goals to hit the west coast and Canada in this upcoming year.
