In the captivating layers of Miss Grey, you’ll find futuristic electronic Pop beats under the sensuously hypnotic alto sax and guitar solos which unravel with a fair serving of theatrically expressive magnetism.

Miss Grey may fall into the realm of Ambient New Age Jazz Rock, but once you’ve hit play on Alex Nekrasov’s latest release, you can expect the entirety of your consciousness to be consumed by this euphorically elevating single.

Koreyography – Misguided Love featuring Adrian Crutchfield

Jazz, Swing, and Neo-Classical may be commonly regarded as fairly archaic genres, yet, Koreyography’s latest single Misguided Love featuring Adrian Crutchfield on sax which makes inventive use of all three is easily one of the most captivatingly vibrant tracks we’ve heard this year.

It’s an explosively effervescent medley of tone, style, and culture which may be lyrically light, but the smoothly animated melodies provide all of the visceral upraising emotion and soul you could possibly ask for. The soundscape is so colourful it’s practically carnivalesque.

The sheer talent in from Koreyography on keys and  Adrian Crutchfield on sax is one thing, the amount of soul which pours out is quite another.

Big Soda – Open Wound: Soul-Fizzingly Sweet Psych Jazz Pop

We found it all too easy to become enamoured by Big Soda’s latest Psych Jazz Pop single Open Wound. It wouldn’t be out of place in a David Lynch soundtrack. But abstract ingenuity isn’t the only incentive to hit play. Big Soda makes it impossible not to be endeared by the effervescent charm which has been instilled into the mix.

The dreamy, melodic, genre-mashing progressions in Open Wound paired with Big Soda’s playfully soulful crooning allowed the track to unfold with a sublime soul-fizzing adorable appeal.

The track may not have been orchestrated with adorability in mind. Yet, that’s just what gives Open Wound its organic adorable magnetism. Expect a sure enough serving of improvised aural catharsis when you hit play.

Raélle – Close to You: Hypnotically Smooth Indie RnB

If it’s been a while since you heard an RnB single which was so effortlessly soulful it was hypnotic, I’d highly recommend turning your attention to the smooth vibes which seep from up and coming artist Raélle’s latest single “Close to You”.

The melodic downtempo Indie RnB instrumentals create the perfect platform for Raélle’s poised and nuanced yet powerfully arrestive vocals. There are also elements of ambient Jazz weaved into the soundscape for maximal tonal warmth. But where the soundscape truly sets itself apart is through Raélle’s vocals. You’d be hard-pressed to find another breaking artist with such a captivating vocal range and ability to make every lyrical line resonate. The vocal harmonies in Close to You are bordering on celestial.

Tarah Jaye – Your Love: Progressively Sultry Funk and Blues-Soaked RnB

If you like your RnB served straight from the soul, you’re bound to find plenty of sentimental appeal in up and coming artist Tarah Jaye’s latest sensually evocative single Your Love.

The deep grooves in the Funk-laden soundscape amplify the sultry magnetism which spills from the vocals and lyrics. And the progressive single doesn’t stop there when it comes to genre-blending. By the time you reach the outro, you’ll also have indulged in Jazz-style Blues guitar riffs. Considering that the track kicks off with a fairly simplistic electronic RnB Pop prelude, Your Love takes you on one hell of an aural journey which you’ll undoubtedly want to take time and time again.

CiiVE – Stationised: Artfully Glacial Alt Electro Pop

CiiVE’s latest single “Stationised” is a glacially crafted indulgent feat of Alt Electronic Pop which any fans of Post-Punk-laced soundscapes are going to want to check out.

Stationised also weaves elements of Ambient Electro Jazz into the mix which introduces tonal warmth into the otherwise cold and haunting yet ethereally mesmerising single. Needless to say, Stationised offers a striking amount of distinction. The authenticity within the electronic instrumentals and samples is only matched by the vocals. It’s moody, it’s artful, and it will undoubtedly freshen up your Electronic Pop playlists.

Wade C. Long – Norm’s Place: Arcanely Constructed Alt Jazz

Up and coming LA artist Wade C. Long’s mesmeric blend of RnB, Jazz, House, and Gospel has made him one of the most distinctive artists we’ve heard in quite some time.

Their recently released single “Norm’s Place” is arcanely stunning. Yet rather than just offering a pleasant aural delight to lose yourself within, you’ll be hooked into each progression as you come to appreciate the ingenuity of Wade C. Long’s improvisational style. He found the perfect balance between chaos and catharsis in Norm’s Place. Dare I say David Lynch wouldn’t be able to orchestrate a soundscape as mind-melting as this?

With the usual time signatures safely out of the window, the jarring stabbing notes cut through the concordance of the lucid instrumental harmonies and efficaciously invite you into an aurally altered state.

Big Fat Meanies – Meet Me at the Downbeat: Frenetically Funk-Driven Alt Rock

If you missed the seminal release “Meet Me at the Downbeat” from up and coming Alt Rock artist Big Fat Meanies, it’s our pleasure to introduce you to the frenetic hit.

With Ska, Punk, Rap, Funk, Rockabilly, Swing and Hip Hop all influencing the instrumental style, Meet Me at the Downbeat is a dynamically progressive track which really comes into its own through the stunning solos. Rather than just offering the usual guitar riffs, you’ll also hear drum, bass, and sax solos – each of them is as captivating as the last.

It was a bold move incorporating such a smorgasbord of sounds into their single. But perceptibly, Big Fat Meanies have more than enough talent and energy to pull it off. I can only imagine how immersive a live set would be.

AP Project – Hi. Ro. Mi.: Modern Jazz Fusion at its Finest.

Jazz has never been the most accessible of genres. Yet, with the magnetic pull of the fluidly explorative soundscape which is AP Project’s latest single “Hi. Ro. Mi”, that issue may become a thing of the past.

The Jazz Fusion single abstracts elements from Hip Hop, Blues, and RnB before infusing them into a work of dizzying distinction.

With Hi. Ro. Mi., you not only get the perfect introduction to AP Project’s deft instrumental mastery. But you also get to experience the mesmerism of surrendering yourself to a rhythm without knowing which way or how fast you’ll be pulled along. The refusal of the Modern Jazz Fusion artist to leave any amount of predictability between the notes is most felt when the soundscape surges into jaw-droppingly intricate piano melodies which carry the perfect dose of Jim Jones-style frenetic energy.

Seb.T – Notion: Melodiously Gritty Jazz-Infused Hip Hop

“Notion” is just one of the sultry smooth urban drops from up and coming Birmingham, UK-based Hip Hop artist Seb.T’s upcoming EP “Disconnect”.

Seb.T’s catchy contemporary approach to Jazz-Fusion breathes brand-new resonant life and soulful grind into the genre. With the grimy bars alluding to a non-polished picture of 21st-century living, and the gravelly drawl to Seb.T’s vocals, there’s no disputing that Notion is a dynamically distinctive hit. There are very few Rap artists with the ability to put this much magnetic conviction behind such a melodious beat. And the sweet sentimentality of the track definitely didn’t fail to resonate thanks to the addition of the female harmonic vocals on the chorus.

You’ll have to wait a little longer to check out Notion along with the rest of Seb.T’s upcoming EP which is due for release on December 5th. In the meantime, you can head on over to Spotify and check out their previously released gritty urban delights.
