Skinny Blacks fired up a new wave of hip-hop with his hypersonically hot track, Getaway Bae

With roots stretching from South London to St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, Skinny Blacks delivered a pulsating summer anthem with Getaway Bae. If you’re searching for a track that hits harder than a heatwave in July, this high-octane single offers everything you’d expect from an artist fusing his Jamaican heritage with trap-heavy beats.

In an era where so much hip-hop sounds formulaic, Skinny Blacks smashes through the monotony with energy levels that could power a city. The track comes with the unrelenting force of a tropical storm, combining rhythmic precision with an edge that demands a replay.

By blending melodic rap with bold trap production, Skinny Blacks crafted an adrenalised hit for the wanderlust generation. Lyrically, it’s an unapologetic testament to being in control of your destiny, and musically, it’s a blueprint for the new direction UK rap is taking. It’s clear Skinny Blacks isn’t just riding the wave – he’s creating his own tsunami in the scene.

Getaway Bae was officially released on September 1st; stream the single on all major platforms via this link.

Q raised the reputation of trap with his debut EP, Ragestar

With his dynamic style, it’s hard to know what the Kingston, Jamaica-hailing artist, Q, will throw our way next. His latest standout single, Don’t Talk 2 Me, taken from his debut EP, Ragestar, was never going to disappoint.

The trappy, fiery soul in Don’t Talk 2 Me, reels you in through the sharp hooks, atmospheric production, and unabashed honesty which explores a wounded side of Q’s psyche. If any trap track is going to teach you the importance of creating boundaries and sticking by them with conviction, it is this electrifying hit that draws from across the urban spectrum. Against the hard trap beats, you’ll find Dancehall and RnB nuances that affirm the artist’s status as an up and coming pioneer.

A lot of rap artists market themselves as versatile, but Q well and truly sets the bar with his flawlessly authentic style.

Don’t Talk 2 Me is now available to stream album with the rest of his debut EP via Spotify.

Nana Motobi has dropped their high-vibe hustler anthem ‘Paper’

Vibes don’t come much higher than the ones oozing from breaking Alt Hip Hop artist Nana Motobi’s latest release ‘Paper’.

The spaciously sun-kissed melodies set the upraising tone while Nana Motobi breaks the monocultural mould by weaving in Jamaican Reggae vibes and experimenting with an African Pidgen Rap style. More refreshingly, Nana Motobi veers away from the usual Hip Hop narrative when it comes to riches and excess. While many artists are flaunting the luxury that they’ve hired for the weekend, this ground-breaking artist cooked up an anthem for anyone who knows the hustle is real. The hustle will undoubtedly be made a lot easier for Reggae Hip Hop fans with Paper on their playlists.

You can check out Paper for yourselves by heading over to Apple Music.
