Matthew Bertram – Destiny: Synthy-Sweet Alt Indie Pop

If you’re looking for a synthy-sweet Pop treat to liven up your playlists, Matthew Bertram’s second album Destiny will sate any aural sugar cravings.

While each track on the artist’s sophomore album carries an arsenal of euphoria, the best introduction to Matthew Bertram’s playfully captivating style is the title track. Good vibes are guaranteed.

In Destiny, 80s Synth Pop and modern Lo-Fi Indie Experimental Pop combine along with hints of Indie Alt Rock. Matthew Bertram boundlessly creative approach to production along with the magnetically expressive Indie Pop vocals instantly puts Matthew Bertram leagues apart from any other Alt Synth Pop artist we’ve heard this year.

Even though Matthew Bertram achieved a vibrant and resounding sound with Destiny, there’s still an incredibly enamouring intimate appeal to the soundscape. Naturally, we’re hooked. And we’re fairly sure that you’ll share our new-found obsession as soon as you hit play too.

Glasgow’s Carla J. Easton wants us to ”Get Lost” in her dreamy beats

That rare moment has just happened. You listen to a new song and you get chills. You know that this is absolute quality and you smile like Goofy. A big silly grin emerges like a hungry sea crab that has smelt dinner from above. ”Get Lost” from Carla J. Easton has just wafted into my lonely room and I just want to dance any worries I have far away into the stars. This might be my new favorite song of 2020. Her voice has me mesmerized.

Released off Olive Grove Records, this a synth infused pop track with dreamy galaxy kisses floating merrily all over the dance floor. I’m actually lost in this song and I like it. This is a much better experience than getting lost at a festival and not finding your tent no matter how much you look.

Produced and Mixed by Stephen Watkins, this is such an intriguing track with a wild beat that keeps the stomp on. Radio play must be on the cards and if not then some cages need to be rattled.

”Get Lost” from Carla J. Easton is a world class release that deserves lots of love and affection. I would hug this song if I could. This is an artist that I would travel hours to witness live. 2020 just got a lot better.

Christopher Dallman – No Sense in Regret featuring Chantae Miller

We’ve been lucky enough to grab a sneak peek of the emotively bruising debut single “No Sense in Regret” from Pop singer-songwriter Christopher Dallman. The pensive progressions may be gentle, but the emotional intensity definitely isn’t.

The chillingly candid lyrical introspection offers plenty of resonance as you listen to sentiments which are rarely ever spoken. The verses run through the kind of eerie mind funk which reverberates around your mind while you’re in a state of melancholic reflection.

The haunting soundscape fuses elements of darkwave synth-pop with contemporary yet cinematic Indie, making No Sense in Regret as authentic as it is evocative. Debut singles don’t get much more promising than this.

You’ll have to wait a little longer before you can check out No Sense in Regret which is due for release on May 1st. In the meantime, you can get a taste of what’s to come by watching the teaser video via YouTube.

FRNDS AS CMPNY has made their debut with the Indie Synth Wave single “White Flag”

Authentic Indie may be harder to find than a needle in a haystack, but we’ve struck gold with the debut single “White Flag” from FRNDS AS CMPNY.

The synth-led soundscape is as captivating as it is sensuous, as you can imagine, that’s quite the alchemic aural combination. White Flag may borrow an element or two from 80s Synthwave and Darkwave Electronica. Yet, with their distinctive production style, you can fall in love with the transfixing synthesised tones once more.

Any fans of Depeche Mode, New Order, and Kraftwerk will definitely see the appeal in White Flag. There’s a nuanced pinch of moody dark atmospherics, but the shimmering atmospheric production gives White Flag a transcendently rapturous feel which you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.

Island Empire has created the ultimate aural paradox with their upliftingly sedative single “Air Sea Rescue”

Island Empire is an Indie Alternative Electronica duo who borrow elements of 80s Synthwave and Dreampop. But they definitely aren’t a band who can be defined by their influences.

Instead, their sound would be better understood if I alluded to their music by telling you that they created an aural paradox of uplifting sedative music. Especially with their recently released poised and polished single “Air Sea Rescue”.

The London-based artist has successfully dragged Dreampop into the realms of the accessible with” Air Sea Rescue”. The single may be warm and concordant, but there’s also an ample amount of moody gloom lingering between the notes giving the track an incredibly atmospheric feel.

Constant Comas brings friendly Funk to Synthwave with the single “Get It”

Brooklyn-based solo artist Constant Comas has proven that Funk, primal percussion, and friendly synths go hand in hand with their debut EP “C”. The best introduction to their sound is the rapturously nostalgic 80s New Wave Synth Pop single “Get It”

Get It comes together as an alchemic merging of elements of past and future in a sublime fusion of analogue soul. The Indie approach to production has made Synthwave more personable and accessible than ever. Any fans of Soft Cell, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the Pet Shop Boys are sure to appreciate the instantaneous hook behind Get It which pulls you into the euphoric mix which comes complete with catchy lyrics, and vocals which definitely aren’t without charm.

Indigo Youth – Neon Lights: Delicately Domineering Indie Synth Pop

Creating the perfect track is no easy feat, but Indigo Youth’s latest track with its sweet succinct sound comes pretty damn close. You don’t need me to tell you Indie Pop is huge right now, so to shine above the rest is a commendable achievement. Neon Lights is a track you can listen time and time again, with each play you unravel the complex layers of their contemporary, synthy Pop sound.

It seems unfair to compare Indigo Youth to any other band out there but fans of Angel Olsen, Alex Cameron, Yuck and Pavement will love the Lo-Fi sound that’s wrapped up in this track by the sensational Indie artists. There’s a hint of romantic sensibility to the band’s music, making it instantly resonant, not in an overbearing Taylor Swift way, but through subtlety sublime harmonies which are carried by the vocalists delicate yet domineering ability as a natural performer.

Neon Lights is only the second single released by Indigo Youth, it’s now available to download or stream across all major platforms.
