Martin Paul Cuthew has released his soul-saving feat of Indie Pop ‘Stand Tall’

With harmonies which find themselves somewhere between the timbre of Blur and the Beach Boys, Martin Paul Cuthew’s progressive soul-saver of a single ‘Stand Tall’ starts to unravel. By the time the hooky chorus hits, Indie Punk Folk influences start to fall into the mix in a way that would leave any fans of Frank Turner enamoured.

The lockdown-born single was orchestrated to instil optimism and determination in the downtrodden. It’s a powerful Pop Rock reminder that growth is something to take hold of with positivity instead of grief and fear. It’s a nuanced way of saying that life is too short to fill it with salty tears.

Billy Boguard – Evergreen Scars: Sorrowfully Dynamic Minor-Chord Pop

Opening up with a cinematic minor-chord piano part before Boguard’s deep, baleful vocal, ‘Evergreen Scars’ is a beautiful, confessional song of grief and loss. Honest, heartfelt, and soulful, Boguard’s vocal tells a story of pain and longing, the full instrumentation dropping in around the minute mark for the unforgettable chorus.

Reminiscent of Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’, with elements of Lewis Capaldi or maybe a male-vocal Lana Del Rey, ‘Evergreen Scars’ tells of two souls destined from the beginning to destroy each other, writ deep with heartbreak and regret, and the inevitable aftermath, healing, and lessons learned, all over a sorrowful track full of power, dynamic, and presence.

Evergreen Scars official release date was November 27th, you can check it out now via Spotify.

Kenan Davis has made a tenderly mesmerising Indie debut with “Real Thing”

22-year-old Austin singer-songwriter Kenan Davis made their debut on October 9th with their tenderly resolving single “Real Thing”. I already know that it’s going to be a track to turn to whenever I need a portent hit of emotion.

I’ve listened to more love songs than I’ve had hot dinners, but I can’t say I’ve ever come across an artist who was able to so easily draw you in by their debut release. There’s an assured and mature feel to the soundscape, but the vocals resonate with humility and a sincerity that’s so scarce on the airwaves that I’m surprised there isn’t a black market for it.

If you’re always on the hunt for smooth soulful indie hits which hit the evocative spot, prepare to melt into the gorgeously-produced soundscape which allows you to feel every ounce of emotion projected into the dreamy tonally-resolving release.

Ethan Senger invokes romantic nostalgia with “One Night”

Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Ethan Senger left us enraptured and potentially a little infatuated with their piercingly evocative, melodically mellifluous debut self-titled EP.

In the standout single “One Night”, raw, unfiltered emotion lies under the smooth polished production before it tears through whenever Ethan Senger’s vibrato vocals come into play. He’d seriously give Eddie Vedder a run for his money while leaving fans of Paul Simon transfixed.

The alchemically reverb-drenched blend of Rock, Pop and Folk allows the soundscape to simultaneously exude authenticity along with accessibility. But One Night isn’t a track you simply ease into, it’s a track which takes full control of your emotions and compels your mind to scramble for romantic nostalgia.

René Le Feuvre has infused sincerity and serenity on the airwaves with “Whispers and Whistles”

Whispers & Whistles is the 5th single to be released by Alt Indie Folk Pop artist René Le Feuvre. The serenely comforting soundscape stands as a testament to the Australian artist’s matured and organic nuanced sound.

They may draw influence from the likes of Ben Howard and Ed Sheeran, but there’s nothing assimilative about Whispers and Whistles. It’s a sticky-sweet ambient earworm which was served straight from the soul.

With some artists, music is just something they do. While with artists like René Le Feuvre, you can tell it’s who they are. Their soulful melodic abilities are as much of a part of them as the blood the passion runs in.

Whispers & Whistles is available to stream via Spotify now.
