Get your blues rock n roll fix with Article 19’s stellar scuzzy hit, Stone Crazy.

Article 19 has been on the rock scene since 2007; with their strongest lineup yet, the Coventry-based outfit is serving up their most raucously robust singles to date.

Their standout single, Stone Crazy, is the perfect introduction to the 70s rock n roll inspired outfit. For the same reasons you fell for the Rolling Stones, Stone Crazy won’t fail to pull you in with the angular bluesy riffs that get plenty of room to breathe in the vintage production that boasts plenty of earworm potential that comes through the clever vocal hooks.

Stone Crazy is the final single to be released from their upcoming album, Without Interference. The official video for Stone Crazy is now available to stream on YouTube.

Twin Flowers blossom in their protestive electro-rock debut single, Greed.

Twin Flowers

The freshly formed Melbourne-based rock act Twin Flowers graciously treated us to a sneak peek of their anti-capitalist debut release, Greed. No artist has sold socialism this well since the Manic Street Preachers went on a revolutionary mission in the 90s. Even then, aural anti-capitalism has never been *quite* this sultry before. The only people that could conceivably hate the bass-dripping synth lines and euphoric drops in Greed are the ones caught up in the phallic space race.

Twin Flowers was conceived after the songwriter, James Toohey, spent a gap year in Bristol. We can only live in hope they hop back across the pond to treat us to some live renditions of their blossoming sonic sound.

Greed is an exceptionally promising debut that proves that even in the darkest and most dystopic times, dancey indie rock escapism will be one of the tragically rare saviours for the socially minded. If you are always on the hunt for the next big thing, it doesn’t get much bigger than the production in Greed.

Greed will be available to stream and purchase from October 22nd, 2021. You can check it out for yourselves via Bandcamp.

Indie rock pioneer COLUMBIA breaks new psychedelic ground with ‘Keys to the Kingdom’.

Cardiff’s most promising act since Catatonia, COLUMBIA, put a psychedelic spin on vintage rock tones in their latest indie rock n roll release, Keys to the Kingdom.

As the kaleidoscopic guitars glide through the chords, the snarling basslines work with the anthemic drums to send the energy of the release into overdrive. Any fans of Frankie Teardrop Dead, The Kundalini Genie and Corvus & the Morning Star will want to save space on their radar for the rhythmically blessed raucous powerhouse. They may not have sold out stadiums yet, but their sound is already built for them. We’re stoked to see where their sound takes them next.

The lyric video to Keys to the Kingdom is now available to stream on YouTube.

Swimming deliver anthemic indie rock realism in their latest single, Sometimes Things Change

If you are yet to healthily embrace the inevitability of change, the anthemic indie-rock bop, Sometimes Things Change, from up and coming artist, Swimming, might be enough to push your perceptions in a more positive direction.

With tinges of angsty punk and an Against Me! vibe to their lo-fi sound, the energy in Sometimes Things Change comes with a sharp set of teeth. You won’t be left waiting for the hooks; you’ll already be hooked in the full-frontal emotion right from the intro. Swimming’s raucous vibe and conscious lyrics are everything that the airwaves need right now. The shift to disjointing proggy math-rock mid-way through the track proves that there’s plenty more to Swimming than their candour; they are a powerhouse in their own right.

The Kecks pull hope out of ennui in their dirty indie earworm, Tonight Might be Different.

With their seminal indie earworm, Tonight Might be Different, the icons in the making, The Kecks, proved that alchemy bleeds when dirty disco and catchy indie post-punk splices together under infectiously erratic indie-rock crooning.

The danceable beats share the same aphrodisiacal qualities as She Wants Revenge, while the vocals will beguile any Julian Casablancas fans and the intricate indie guitars leave you hooked on every angular note.

Right from the first hit, Tonight Might be Different tells you that The Kecks are so much more than the sum of all parts. The enigmatic raconteurial energy practically begs to be heard live as it galvanises you through shared ennui. Anyone who finds that disappointment consistently creeps into their worldview will undoubtedly find resonance with the volatile dejection in the authentically animated hit.

There’s new-found confidence to the Kecks sound, making their indie swagger more convincing than Alex Turner’s – by a longshot. What makes it so magnetic is the firm grip of their DIY ethic that has been holding strong, even in the event of sold-out shows in their current residing place, Hamburg.

The official music video premiered on September 3rd, 2021. You can check it out for yourselves via YouTube or add the single to your Spotify playlists.

The Sleepy Palms shone the Cali sun into their debut shoegazy garage rock single, You’re Gonna Be Just Fine

Garage rock, surf rock and shoegaze entwine in the synthy debut single, You’re Gonna Be Just Fine, from the California-based pioneers, The Sleepy Palms. They shone plenty of Cali sun into the optimistic in spite of crushing dread soundscape that will allow you to imagine what the Verve could have been if it wasn’t always raining in Manchester.

Their clever hooks, captivating choruses, velvety smooth vocals and glassy synths are arresting from start to finish as the Sleepy Palms set an innocently amorous scene that celebrates fleeting intimacy.

The way the bitter-sweet lyrics “I never liked the taste of cigarettes, I just wanted to be around you, and after all this time there is nothing left, but I’m still so glad I found you” fall into the surf rock rhythms, shoegazey reverb and clean vintage garage rock tones left me feeling like I’d hit the aural jackpot. Be Careful Who You Love: Chuck Gillispie Torn Rhythms Project knows that Mama was right on ‘What can a poor boy do?’

With a thought to the past and a painful wonder as to why school wasn’t taken more seriously before as you dig through the dirty change in your pocket, Chuck Gillispie Torn Rhythms Project know that the dead end job is all that you can do for now on ‘What can a poor boy do?‘.

Chuck Gillispie Torn Rhythms Project is an indie rock act based in Gahanna, Ohio. Lead by lead singer Chuck, this is an honest music experience all about putting out true stories that most of us can relate to.

Songwriter Chuck Gillispie started the “Torn Rhythms Project” in 2017 when he teamed up with long time band mate Tom Hale (Keyboards) and on May 25th of that year “Cry” was released. In late 2019 Chuck and Tom started writing and recording remotely, Chuck in Ohio and Tom in Virginia and with the addition of Mark Sammons on Guitar, Bass and vocals,
Edward Young on Guitars, Adam Grossman Drums & Jeff Speeks Drums.” ~ Chuck Gillispie Torn Rhythms Project

Made with a few young teens roaming the darkly-lit skate park, the gloomy visuals here completely matches the track and has your mind in a total spin. Either you have been in this moment or seen it from far, as you try and search for more than has been provided from circumstance.

This is a soulful track that has been performed with gritty vocals and experienced guitar work of the highest order, the story has you in the mood to look up the sky and wish for a shining star to guide to you to a better place than this. Being careful about who you love has added importance now – as the finances are razor tight – so you need someone who truly gets it and is willing to build a fruitful team with you.

What can a poor boy do?‘ from Chuck Gillispie Torn Rhythms Project, is the broke story about surviving and doing what you must to live. The job definitely doesn’t pay enough but you will do what you must – to stay alive and find that true purpose which is out there – this is a track to make you ponder your own existence in this rather odd world.

Jonas and I reach the pinnacle of contemporary folk with ‘Love’

Jonas and I

Indie folk-rock artist, Jonas and I, are right on the contemporary curve with their latest single, Love, released via Humu Records. The deeply atmospheric track is cinematic enough that it wouldn’t be out of place in a Hollywood Blockbuster, yet Love wasn’t written with commercial potential solely in mind.

Refreshingly, Jonas and I didn’t fall into the trap of becoming yet another Mumford and Sons assimilator. They went further back to the roots of folk to create a richly narrative radio-ready single that easily distinguishes itself from the rest.

With the tenderness of Tom Odell in the vocals with visceral robustness that gives the lyrics far more meaning, it’s hard not to get absorbed with the rich sonic textures.

Love was released on August 27th, you can check it out via SoundCloud.

Spin out of control with Nav’s Hook latest indie folk-pop single, Drivin’ Me Crazy

In his latest single, Drivin’ Me Crazy, up and coming artist Nav’s Hook pulled up the roots of rhythm, country and blues to create an indie-folk-pop jam that pays ode to romantic mania. The infectiously uplifting track comes complete with shimmering Gretschy guitars, foot-stompin’ rhythms and some all too efficacious vocal hooks which make an earworm out of the release.

Any fans of Ryan Adams, Chris Cornell, John Mayer and Jason Isbell won’t want to miss out on this expressively seductive radio-ready track that practically begs for repeat attention.
