Solutions are tomorrow’s news: Manchester’s Urban Theory open up our curious minds on truthful ‘A Poet’s World’

Leading our overly-stimulated minds to shy away from the mainstream thinking that only adds to the gloom, Urban Theory scribble down courageous clues for us to enamor ourselves with, on the wonderful star-gazer called ‘A Poet’s World‘.

Fast-rising Manchester, England-based four-piece indie-punk band Urban Theory, fuse together delightfully that extra thoughtful music, that takes you to a new place so you can reassure yourself, that everything is going to be okay again.

With their first released single of the year, they sound especially hungry and show intimate intent with a stunning array of thunderous soundscapes, that simmers in hot like a steaming induction cooker. They have that raw power and are impressively self-aware, as they have seen so many around them lose their way. Their message is to wake up the masses with that sonic boosting vibes, that stomps you in the soul so nicely.

Recorded by the talented team at Bury’s Edwin Street Studio, this is one of three singles planned for 2021 as the band take things up a notch with a pure single, that makes your body move and groove with delight and thoughtfulness, all somehow at the same time.

A Poet’s World‘ from Manchester’s riveting indie-punk/rock outfit Urban Theory, is that special type of song that has you thinking about the current world and how broke the structures really are. Staying true to what is really important: The Vigilance Committee drop superb new single ‘Reflections III’

The Vigilance Committee are back with their inspirational blend of real music with heart on the outstanding new single ‘Reflections III‘.

New York indie-punk rockers The Vigilance Committee are a closely-knit outfit that have been making epic soundscapes together since 2009, and they are a group that do things that really matter in life, beyond music.

Reflections III’ is a coming home of sorts for us,” says Phil Corso (drums/vocals). “With the world the way it is, we felt it was important to get back to basics, which for us, meant writing honest music that stood for something.”

This exceptional song is about how we need to fully appreciate the beauty of building a project from the start to the finish, no matter what the end result turns out to be. Watching it fall over is tough to watch but if it means you have to compromise your core morals and values, staying true to yourself is all that matters. You are the one that has to look in the mirror each day after all.

With a more than satisfying indie-punk rumbustious melody to start us off on this excellent ride, the driving drums and haunting vocals catch your attention quickly, this is a rock solid track that is marvelously catchy and is so true to its original vision. The true story of not letting yourself fall below the standard you have set for yourself deep down and how you would rather tumble over, than stay somewhere you know isn’t for you and where you feel you don’t belong.

Valuing total integrity over worthless material things seems like a controversial thing to do these days, so its very refreshing to hear a band that still have these values and who actually say something about things that aren’t legitimate.

This is an excellent band who are underground heroes for doing what is right and ‘Reflections III’ from New York City four-piece The Vigilance Committee, sees them stay true to their roots and kicks the standard up a few notches in a previously prosperous genre, that has been in the doldrums for way too long. That all changes now.

jain – kneading: Eccentrically Volatile Alt Garage Rock

https://jaintn.bandcamp.com/track/kneading

Nashville, Tennessee artist jain released their noisy Garage Rock EP the end of June’ at… the end of June. The track which caught our attention was the discord-spilling riotously angsty single ‘kneading’.

The short and distortedly sweet track incorporates elements of Punk, No Wave, Post Hardcore and Indie and throws in some sonically psychedelic lead guitar work to ensure that you’ve never heard anything quite like this eccentrically volatile release before.

In short, kneading is utter chaos and it can even make artists such as Pavement and Daughters seem middle-of-the-road.

You can check out kneading for yourselves by heading over to Bandcamp where you’ll be able to download and stream the rest of the EP.

Petty Cassettes have cooked up a potent hit of angsty aural catharsis with their Indie Punk single “Lately”.

If it’s been a while since you found an Alt-Indie artist worth getting excited about, prepare to be elevated by Petty Cassettes’ feverishly exuberant fourth single “Lately”.

Lately kicks off with a humble Indie prelude before the soundscape takes a tremulous turn and evolves into a raucous feat of Punk. Admittedly, you won’t hear many other Punk tracks with solos as sweet as the ones you’ll find in this consistently exhilarating hit. That’s where the nuanced infusion of Rock worms its way into the anthemically-charged track and starts to dominate the soundscape.

What more could you possibly ask for from an Indie hit? As far as we’re considered, Petty Cassettes have offered it all with Lately. It’s the kind of track you hear once and make it a firm fixture on your playlists so you can get a repeat hit of the volatile aural catharsis and the captivating instrumental talent. I’m pretty sure I’ll never forget those Slash-style solos or the easily connectable jaded lyricism.

Folk Singer Songwriter Hellwaffles Has Made Their Debut with the Amorously Sweet Single “Training Wheels”

Folk and Indie Punk converge in singer-songwriter Hellwaffles debut single “Training Wheels”. The instantly enamouring Lo-Fi track may just consist of an acoustic guitar and Alt Folk vocals, but that’s all that was required to create a resounding intimate single.

The lyrics run you through all too relatable mental health issues as the artist employs their sense of humour about the never-ending battle when it comes to keeping your sanity. Quite honestly, I can’t remember the last time I heard a more relatable single.

I’m already stoked to hear what comes next from Hellwaffles and their refreshingly candid style.

Ring Finger No Pinky has made their abrasively infectious debut with their EP Chlorine Bomb:

Ring Finger No Pinky made their debut EP Chlorine Bomb on May 22nd. Rest assured it is just as explosive as the EP title would suggest.

Each of the 5 tracks on the EP allows Ring Finger No Pinky to exhibit their boundless genre-crumbling dynamism. Our top tracks have to be Napalm Sticks to Kids and Rat Soup.

From Napalm Sticks to Kids, you’ll get a volatile infusion of Grunge and Anarcho-Punk, complete with a chorus which is as infectious as COVID-19. Somehow, the Phoenix-based artist managed to make the lyrics even more abrasive than the frenzied alchemy which spills from the instrumentals.

Rat Soup offers you an indulgent feat of snarling despondent Indie Punk vocals over windingly hypnotic guitars with all of the fuzz and future you could possibly ask for. Yet, Rat Soup allows the fierce rhythmic mayhem to quieten for long enough that you’ll get a taste of the ingenuity when the insanity is dialled back.

Ring Finger No Pinky is definitely a band you will want on your radar.

Heavenly Faded – Constellations: Polished Punchy Ambient Alt Rock

https://soundcloud.com/heavenly-faded/constellations-master-v3/s-bAAa0

Up and coming Ambient Alt Rock artist Heavenly Faded dropped their latest single “Constellations” on November 22nd. If you’re a fan of melodic yet viscerally charged Alt Rock, chances are, you’re going to want to hear it.

Constellations may have that biting Punk tone, but the single also comes with the concordance which you’d expect from a polished Indie Rock track from artists such as Radiohead or the Arctic Monkeys. With the single, the New York-based four-piece not only created a testament to their talent, but they also proved that they’ve got what it takes to create a brand-new trajectory in Alt Rock. Accessible yet raucous tracks don’t come into fruition all too often. I wouldn’t sleep on Heavenly Faded.

Monkey Trap – Content is Chronic: A Prodigally Antagonistic Blend of Indie Punk & Folk

It only took me the first verse of Monkey Trap’s latest single “Content is Chronic” to fall in love with their antagonistically playful anthem. The title single is just one of the stellar tracks from the Philadelphia-based band’s 2018 album which carries infectious a prodigally genius blend of Indie Punk and Folk.

Whilst some may say Punk is dead, it’s clear to see that it has been revived to a more melodic tune… played by musicians who can actually play their instruments. If you’ve come to expect bland and blaring three chord riffs from Punk, prepare to be disappointed by the intricate licks from the electric guitar in Content is Chronic.

Considering the fact they’ve only been around since 2017, they’ve already achieved a tight sound full of potent high-octane energy to put the attitude back into the genre.
